- For a while now, you all have been asking for a biking tour of the Wildwoods. Today Julia, my wife, and I deiced to do just that.
Starting in North Wildwood we make our way to Two Mile Landing before hitting Sunset Lake and heading back to 1st street in North Wildwood.
All together it was 12 miles!!!!

Just an FYI the island is over 7 miles long. Turtle Gut Inlet, once located in the vicinity of Toledo Avenue in today's Wildwood Crest , was at one time the division between Five Mile Beach to the north and Two Mile Beach to the south. Filled in by the county in 1922

That was a great video! I got to see a lot of areas that I don’t normally get to see when we’re on vacation there! We go in my brothers van and once we get it parked he doesn’t like to move it because it’s hard to get a parking spot. So are usually stuck in the one area so my husband and I decided next time we come we are driving ourselves. That way we can drive to other restaurants that are further away that we normally don’t get to go to! Thanks again for the great video! 🚴🚴♀️

Biking in Wildwood, and particularly on the boardwalk, is my absolute favorite thing to do. Thanks for this very entertaining video. I just subscribed and look forward to exploring your channel. I live in PA and have visited Wildwood every year for 53 years! This year is in question but at the very least I’ll get a day trip in. And I’ll be bringing my bike!

I always look forward to your videos; especially this year as we could not make it down there (perhaps it's better given everything going on). You rode past the Big Blue Sightseer on Park Blvd. Why not do a video on the Sightseer and Captain Schumann? The Sightseer has been in operation for over 60 years and has great history. It would be a great video to see Captain Schumann and the Big Blue Sightseer cruising through Otten's Harbor and the back bays into the ocean and learn about the Sightseer history.

I love WWC. Been going since I was a kid. Continue to do so with my kids. Was supposed to celebrate my 50th down there July 3rd but had to cancel b/c of Covid-19. Wife works in health care in the Bronx and they won't allow full vacations yet. I guess I'll make up for it next year!!! I did find the music pretty funny with the speed up pedaling. It was like a skit from The Benny Hill Show. Lol. Keep the videos coming. Love them

Used to bike it all the time. We came down from Avalon on the 4th to see how it was. Absolutely insane amount of people.

Biking down there always depends on the wind! About 15 or so years ago, I actually rode a bike from Diamond Beach up to Ocean City and back. Going wasn't bad, but coming back was sheer torture because I had like a 15 mph headwind all the way! I'll never forget that experience!
yea the wind is crazy haha. How long did it take for you to do that bike ride?
@@WildwoodVideoArchive That whole ordeal basically took me all day long! I remember that not only the wind was bad, but the flies were biting me like crazy in those swampy areas between Avalon and Stone Harbor.
@@nickcef Those flies are downright evil. And regular insect/mosquito repellents don't work on them.

This reminds me of when I was a kid. My best friend and biked from our houses in Sicklerville ( near Williamstown ) to Deptford Mall going the back way ( 621) past the Lakeland complex ( juvie hall ) in Blackwood, to Almonession Road past Red Lobster. That was quite the trip considering we were riding regular 1 speed bmx bikes.

Great video love seeing the Wildwoods. My parents condo they use to on is right next to little Italy and yes it always smells so good.

correct. We biked South to North not East to West
Interesting perspective of the Wildwoods. Only criticism, which is minor, the fast forward portion was, for me, difficult to watch. I give you and your wife credit for producing this vlog.
Any news on how the public maintained precautions on either the boardwalk or beach? And how are the restaurants doing with outdoor seating?
hey! Im glad you liked the vlog! We have many updates on the precautions listed on our website WildwoodVideoArchives.com The restaurants are getting booked but keep in mind that it's only a drop in the bucket from how many people they can seat per table

We went down Atlantic Ave to the end and made a right onto Pacific Avenue, then went back to sunset lake and biked down Park Blvd. (that’s the simple way of explaining it)

Hey Joey. Great video. During your bike ride you went passed my uncles shore house on Delaware Ave. I wouldn’t be able to bike for that long of a distance in the heat.

hey! a lot of the restaurants are doing outside dining and curbside pickup. The Lobster House is doing Dockside dining and takeout according to their Facebook Page
If you enjoy Cape May resturants, patronize Elaines and Autheras.

Great place to come to rides,food. But the places here to stay lack the good prices along with these made up taxes.. for the price you stay here you can stay in Florida... Try cape May because certain times you can stay there for the same price you pay in the wildwoods!!

Quite a ride and wearing the mandated mask could not be easy but a better example of safe biking would have been wearing helmets. Would hate to see anything bad happen to either one of you. You're a cute couple !!

Hi. For 22 years I worked for the traffic division of the Police Dept. and I think I should tell you that riding a bike on the sidewalk is illegal and you can be fined $50. I'm in Pa but you should check your laws so you don't get a fine.

I have a summer place at the Wildwoods. Go almost every weekend. Go it is safe.
My heart sank (and my stomach churned) when I saw the Bayview had been razed. While the Bayview may not be any great loss, I remember the place from when it was the original Mariner Inn restaurant. We ate there quite often during the years it existed and always had very good dinners there. To see that the actual building has been added to the list of Wildwood demolitions is sickening. But I suppose it'll never end.
It was sad to see it go. I was glad the crew gave me a few hours to video it before they knocked it down.
Yo Joey! Not a good example of responsible bicycling...don't act like a Shoobie! Neither of you had helmets on, and unless you're 5yrs old using training wheels, sidewalks are for pedestrians!😅😃😄😁😆😅🤣😂🚲🚳🚲
