Great video once again, Joey! I had a ghostly experience a little over four years ago on a deserted Cape May Beach near that old gun battery. My ex-girlfriend and I were walking toward the light house when we spotted a woman walking in the opposite direction. She waved and greeted us with a very unnaturally loud and enthusiastic voice, and her face appeared somewhat distorted--it just wasn't right, you could feel it. Not even a half minute after she passed us, I decided to turn around and see where she went. She was gone, no trace of her on that big deserted beach. When we walked back to our car parked in Cape May, we followed this lady's footprints and noticed that they just disappeared in the middle of the beach. Will never forget that experience.
Wow!!! This is absolutely insane! I have heard similar stories like this in the past. The main story I heard is that wives would come to the shore line to look out for their husband's ships. Some men wouldn't return but their wives would in hopes that they would appear. Maybe this that was one ?
@@WildwoodVideoArchive Yes, I've heard about the ghosts of the wives waiting for their husbands to return. However, this woman whom we saw was dressed like an ordinary modern person, but she was just so strange, she looked and acted so unnaturally. I've even heard that old military bunker down there is haunted too. People have seen men on top standing around in World War 2 uniforms. Just going near that thing gives me the creeps. I remember you did a video on those bunkers a couple years back.
@@WildwoodVideoArchive There's a book I bought back in the '90s down there called "Cape May Ghost Stories" by Charles Adams. In it, he mentions a couple walking near the bunker back in the late '80s. They heard voices talking about the Yankees from the 1940s, plus when looking up noticed people in WW2 uniforms. At least that's the way I remember that story. According to Adams, that bunker has had other reports of spectral sightings.
Holy cow! I've honestly had paranormal experiences myself a few times over the years, but not on the level you did. If I saw a ghost of a person who greeted me and passed by within feet is insane! You knew it when you said her face appeared distorted, maybe the effects of coming through from another plane?) and the footprints stopping in the sand pretty much confirmed it. 🤯 Meant to ask, did she say anything else or look at you as she passed by?
To add to your story of Ghosts. I lived all my life in Cape May County and returned after the Marines. I’ve seen relocated to Cumberland County, Nj. I was walking the beach in Cape May near the area where you walked. I’m not easily spooked. And I was a skeptic on paranormal activity. As I saw in the dunes a male figure appear. Talked about hair raising on the back of your neck. I wanted to walk over, and check if it indeed was a person. I did slowly walk past the figure which was approximately 60 feet to my right. It gave the illusion of slightly hovering and watching me as I continued my walk. I kept looking back and it kept looking at me. The next day I went to the same area, thinking it may be a small tree or a post. Nope, nothing was there. NOTHING. No footprints, no dune brush branches broken, nothing. Im not saying i definitely saw an ghost, but my instincts told me that something wasn’t right. I’m retired from law enforcement and I’ve learned to follow my instincts well
Hey Joey although Higbee’s beach is not actually in Wildwood, I’m so glad you filmed this video. I shows so much raw undisturbed land which allows people to see the raw beauty of the area and past all the tourist junk. I’ve seen pictures and videos of the earliest days of the Wildwoods for which the town was named and that’s exactly what I saw in this video…wild woods. 👍
I remember visiting the lighthouse in Cape May over 20 years ago, and just being there gave me a eerie feeling, I still visit Cape May but I don’t go near that lighthouse 😳
I'm not a skeptic as I've had a few experiences years apart. But don't remember any weird feelings in the CM lighthouse (walked up around 2006). As many times as I go to CMC I haven't gone in again, yet but am planning to soon, and will see if I feel something's off.
I mentioned in another comment that I don't recall any weird vibes when I was in the lighthouse years ago. But am planning on climbing it again soon and will "keep my radar on."
This isnt the only haunted beach in NJ. Manasquan has its own paranormal history, I don't recall the whole back story but it is the form of a widow dressed in black pacing the sand in the area where the inlet originally entered the sea north of the current location. She paced as she waited for her overdue husband to return from sea. A return that would never occur.
I think the trail is very pretty. The trees and the little bit of sunlight in the what area of this beautiful. Actually your whole video is very pretty

There were 2 young children who drowned in Cape May, I think it was in the 1800s, their nanny took her eyes off them and they both drowned. Maybe 10 years ago my Mom and I were staying at our usual place, The Victorian where we'd go around 4 times a year. I was sleeping when something woke me up, in the corner of the room I saw 2 young children calling me for help, I got up and followed them outside, thank God my Mom heard me get up because she found my outside the room reaching over the 3rd story railing trying to reach the 2 children to help them. She didn't see them, I've never walked in my sleep, don't drink or do drugs, it was crazy and I'll never forget it. Wasn't the 1st time I had ghostly encounters, both my Mom and I heard horses running down the street in front of Congress Hall after we had lunch inside and we had both smelled fire. Years ago Congress Hall was burned down, lives were lost but so were horses. It's said you can sometimes hear horses running down that street, and we did. Cape May is incredible, my Mom, RIP, is in the ocean in Cape May where her ashes were spread. She leaves me signs (certain things we talked about doing to let the other know we were okay and made it to the other side) but that's another post ❤
@ralphciardella9705 100% true. To this day I can vividly recall those children in the corner of the room. Were they actual ghosts? Were they some sort of demon type thing encouraging me to go over the railing? I don't have any answers but I did experience what I said I did. I had an experience in my own house, my mother-in-law died at home, we live here now, she used to make these elaborate Christmas villages in the living room, the first Christmas after she passed I made a smaller version. One day I glanced up and saw her plain as day standing over the village I made. She had a very distinctive stance due to previous surgery. It was weird but it was her without a doubt.
Toward the end of your video while on that road, there’s a tall look out post I once used to fly a drone searching for an open patch in that wooded area. Even with my advanced DJI with obstacle avoidance activated and hovering far above the treetops, since they’re all around 80 to 120‘ tall, my drone mysteriously was sucked into a tree and till today 2023 I can bet it is still stuck in a branch. I wasn’t able to retrieve it. It’s is a jungle back there.
I was on the that beach with my boyfriend. At night sitting on a blanket looking at the stars. A fog rolled in. Then we saw a ghostly apparition of an old man. My boyfriend yelled scatter!!!
