    Rebuilding and upgrading my forks as soon as the parts arrive... bottoming them out is my biggest problem with down hill drops like that on a heavier bike. Was quite harsh recently on a single track with a staircase like decent around a sharp corner... CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK. hahaha

    another great vid jedi master, thanks for the quotable quotes,hey the beta fever has bit me hard, i think ive read everything there is to read on the 300 rr, including forums that may or may not mention a certain barry,the new bikes turn up late september , and incase anyone in south east qld was wondering about going into extreme enduro to purchase a new almighty beta 300 rr 2 stroke oil injected ,well im sorry but you cant because lucky for me i turned up at the right time and put 2 G deposit on the last one available, yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh hhhhhhaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrr,

    weird... I come from mtb Downhill school were carrying speed is my only way to survive. Compressing the front suspension that much seems super scarry to me. I think I will pass on that and keep dropping pulling the throttle hard, I'm not saying I'm an expert, just saying I'm really afraid of being crushed by my heavy wr450

  • @MrHotstepper89

    I HATE drop offs 👎👎👎 and I have to say I anchor the back brake when ever I'm trying them as well haha

    • @crosstrainingenduro
      @crosstrainingenduro  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Enduro Clutch N Shift we all definitely hated them too but got to like them. mind you, a while back i tried to do a stoppie from the top of a drop off but i went over the bars and the bike landed on top me, was sore for a few months after that one. :(

  • @TheHypnotstCollector
    @TheHypnotstCollector 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Personal opinion, if you're MX racing, I would not go below 10lbs. Maybe in mucky mud, but probably not. After 20 years at the track , 90% of the time the magic numbers are 12-13lbs. And not over 15. But 5 of us had our pressure gauges out and decided to compare them. We had a variation of some 3 lbs! Now what?! Anyhow, under 10 lbs could let muck in along side the bead area. Trials riding could be entirely another story.

    • @crosstrainingenduro
      @crosstrainingenduro  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ***** yes, definitely a lot of variables with tire pressure, before mousses and TUbliss i'd only ride with 10psi or less if i had ultra heavy duty tubes fitted, for example. and wouldn't ride an mx track that low for sure.

    • @TheHypnotstCollector
      @TheHypnotstCollector 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      CROSS TRAINING, ENDUROCROSS & ENDURO TECHNIQUES And what to do with the tire gauge variability?? We trust out gauges but they don't agree. Pressing on the tire with hands also helps to "define' correct tire pressure. I'm going to try a tubeless combo, it looks like a winner.

    • @crosstrainingenduro
      @crosstrainingenduro  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ***** yup, i like the old feel it with the hands technique. but i've also got a low pressure tire gauge too from the trials riding days... these are usually very accurate and available from automotive shops.

    love your videos, have watched them all in anticipation of getting a bike! just wondering your thoughts on 125 two stroke for me - i'm a beginner 6' 1" and 16 stone with gear on, would the 125 struggle? i'd love a ktm 200 but they're rare in ireland, and i suspect a 250 would be overpowered for me. thanks!!

    • @Wide000
      @Wide000 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alex McLeod A 125 is not the easiest thing for trail riding. You must have excellent clutch control to compensate the lack of torque. I think a 200 or a 250 4 stroke would be better for a beginner. Just my opinion.

    • @crosstrainingenduro
      @crosstrainingenduro  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alex McLeod alex there are so many variables i find i can't really comment on bike choice, beyond what i've already mentioned: crosstrainingenduro.com/cross-training-best-bike.htm

    • @crosstrainingenduro
      @crosstrainingenduro  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      CROSS TRAINING, ENDUROCROSS & ENDURO TECHNIQUES wide000, just saw your comment and would tend to agree, a four stroke is probably a good idea for starting out on hey?

    • @mcljot
      @mcljot 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +CROSS TRAINING, ENDUROCROSS & ENDURO TECHNIQUES +Wide000 thanks guys! I'll extend my search to include 4 strokes, it's hard to know without riding them both but they definitely sound a lot more beginner-friendly. The DIY maintenance was the biggest appeal of a 2 stroke.

    What if it's a steep hill that is so slippery that your rear tire is locked up and you are sliding down but it is to steep and slippery to walk it down because your boots would slip

    • @masterbeta343
      @masterbeta343 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You just have to dab constantly and hope you don't die

    • @crosstrainingenduro
      @crosstrainingenduro  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Christian 777 i haven't been on anything that steep yet. worst i've done is a steep section going very slowly and even right back on the seat at 2mph the rear wheel started coming off the ground... freaky. but essentially i think you bull dog it and if it slips out of control you just slide down your ass with the bike until the grip picks up again. probably too dangerous staying on the bike until you are a top rider like jarvis who can just slip down slopes like that sideways and stay on the bike somehow.

    • @masterbeta343
      @masterbeta343 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +CROSS TRAINING, ENDUROCROSS & ENDURO TECHNIQUES we'll that means I got lucky because I was sliding and dabbing like someone who is extremely off balance
