- Was human sacrifice practiced in Jerusalem? The film accompanies the prophet Jeremiah back to the Tophet in the Valley of Ben Hinnom and to the cult of Moloch that shocked Jerusalem in the late First Temple period. Over the years scholars and commentators have explored the question of whether the cult mentioned by Jeremiah involved actual child sacrifice or whether it was merely a symbolic ceremony. Recent archaeological excavations in the Phoenician colony in Carthage, North Africa, shed new light on the Biblical enigma and uncover the full brutality of the horrific cult.

So, let me ask you this. Why did God command Abraham to sacrifice his son in the first place. I've always had trouble with that story. "No, I was just kidding", just doesn't cut it. Something is wrong there.
It was a parallel to God having to sacrifice His own Son, Y'shuah in the future. Isaac was an adult and fully complicit with his father's, and ultimately God's will. They both proved even weak mankind would do as God required, with the understanding God's wisdom is superior to our own, BUT an angel stayed Abrahams hand because God is not cruel or wasteful! The point was made but without cruelty or bloodshed. An act of obedience, a prophecy for us to understand, a lesson in empathy.

What's your point? The Bible is full of similar allergorical symbolisms. At no point in the Bible does God instruct men to literally eat his flesh, as food. It's a metaphor.

Molek mean King. During summer (sun in northern hemisphere) he is the good sun (God). During winter (sun in southern hemisphere) he is the evil sun (Satan).

The Virgin Goddess (Virgo constellation) is quite popular in Greek myth (source of many bible stories). Artemis/Diana became Dinah, the seventh child of Leah (Greek Leto). Leah, the goddess of night goes back to the Sumerian Lilit/Lilith (night) the first wife of Earth (Adam).
Artemis (Moon), Athena (Sun), and Hestia (Earth) were important virgin goddesses.
Virgo, as Parthenos/Barthenos, was the "wife" of Noah (Earth). Their three sons were winter (Shem), spring (Japheth), and Ham (summer). Terah (fm Latin Terra) was the father of winter (Nahor), spring (Abram), and summer (Haran).
