There's actually a great deal of machining technique being shown here. Using a micro-lathe as a shaper for the gear cutting is (for the application) genius. The use of purpose machined jaws for fixturing the 2 main rings is something too many youtubers DON'T DO. This is worth watching again and again to see the "how do I make this" problems being solved.
@NeriEngineering-oq6vh I really like this guy I've re-watched a number of his videos to glean whatever I can. What I find fascinating about guys like this is how much they get done with such small workshops.
cam multă vrăjeală pt un reductor cu satelit, credeam că văd un eliberator cu dublu impuls, cu detentă sau ceva coaxial mai exotic, ... slăbuț și scuump ... dincolo "erea" mai ieftin ! ☝️😁😎
@@Alan_AB very true... though he does use computer aided design... you would think he would make the jump over to CNC.... something very relaxing and satisfying about small manual machining and his slow methodical approach.
@@renaissanceman5847 What I like about Clickspring's channel is that he uses conventional tools to do the job. He presents it in such a way that the ordinary home hobbyist / DIY'er would try to do what he does. Everyone has their own handtools (or can buy them), but not everyone has access to the CNC stuff.
Мне кажется что слышать фоновую музыку в видео, вместо комментирования мастером всего процесса работы (да еще и с шикарным голосом и дикцией), это самый большой облом для иностранной аудитории )))
ATLHooligan no. Clever as in using ingenuity and the tools at hand rather than buying a dividing head and doing it in the mill, the way most machinists who own lathes actually cut gears. But probably not as clever as some snark insulting others for paying compliments.
Olá do Brasil!!!

7:20 NEVER go with a power tool against your hands (and your self in general). prevent unnecessary, in some cases irreversible, injury ;)
Going with the flow will produce A LOT of parts that don't fit each other. By the time you cut your first piece of metal, you're more than halfway done. Fortunately, all of his design work was done with a computer so that saved him quite a bit of time and math!
amazing! But you're going to need a heck of a main spring to keep it running. looking forward to seeing how it turns out. Or you could use a motor but where's the fun in that?
Is it bad that I watch these of the Russian channel first but still watch them here? Also, the music makes my son fall asleep. Gives me an excuse to watch.

IT would be incredibly valuable if they had narration instead of out of tune music playing in the background, explaining the what and whys.

Finally a competitor to click spring... since he’s too busy with his research paper, this guy will fill my need for small precision machining
I agree. Only, Clickspring doesn't appear to use a CNC machine to cut out his parts.

There is something extremely satisfying about watching an accomplished machinist. I love these videos. Great job.

How to wear this watch without drilling machine
underrated comment
"My Dad is ill"
"And I have not job and money"
"TH-cam not giving me views"
"I want to handle my family"
Yalm worse than others"😭
Can you make a mini V8 engine. I love watching these videos. They calm me down after a long hard day.
a v8 would be cool as hell!!!
Oh so this comment is why he did it? Cool!
Who cares about V8 when there is V100
Lol
Damn good idea
Just the lazy sunday content my morning needed nice build
That was a very clever way to cut the teeth for the wheels. Nice
Clever meaning the same way that everyone cuts gears that has a lathe??

This is some of the most beautiful work I’ve seen. My utmost respect for your workmanship.

Thank you very much.
This is so perfect and relaxing....
I immediately come down from 100 to zero....
It's like a symphony where every note fits...
Дякую вам за працю 😊❤
My new favorite channel on youtube! Great work!
Same bro
Hi! Nice mechanism :D for some reason the music reminded me of the underground electronic music scene of Caracas in the early 2000s. Good memories :D
The tools may be modern, but it's true craftsmanship. How anyone can have the patience and skill for this kind of work.... amazing.
You're machines are a master of their craft... But not without you.. Amazing
It appears you are ready to make a full Antikythera model. Nice work!
Wow! Here someone can learn a lot of tiny metalwork. I remember my time as apprentice.
Thanks for your ideas an uploading for showing us!!!
Super good
This is right my street! I only wish I had the machinery I used to work with and the drawings. I loved this video to bits!
Just buy the software and start drawing. There are businesses out there who's only purpose is to machine whatever drawing you send them.

Well done, well done!
Metal machining is what I'm doing for living. I have to say: I'm impressed!
I absolutely love watching brass being worked of a lathe. Thanks.
It is not often people are this skilled and have this level of creativity. Beautiful made.
cool vid. one thing safety.
7:20 NEVER go with a power tool against your hands (and your self in general). prevent unnecessary, in some cases irreversible, injury ;)
Never seen a time piece with less parts... Very interesting concept 🤓
How much planning does a project like this need before making it? Or do you just go with the flow? Amazing work sir 👍🏽

Surprisingly funkier than I expected the video to be.
Wow incredible machining. You have mastered the art.
You’re quite the clickspring. Nice job.
Beautiful work! Did you make the gear cutting setup yourself? It is fantastic!
👍
I just love seeing butiful brass mechanisms
working so well together
No part 2 yet? I'd love to see it.
Awesome. Love it!

Now that I have seen how it's done, I can finally DIY at home. Thanks!
What kind of laser do you use man?
Awesome workmanship
amazing! But you're going to need a heck of a main spring to keep it running. looking forward to seeing how it turns out. Or you could use a motor but where's the fun in that?
Very nice wristwatch!!!!
That is most beautiful to ever see for entire world.

Stupefacente, bravissimo 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I just discovered this channel, and I'm blown away by the sheer genius of this man.
Beautiful. If I ever make a copy of this beautiful clock, I would make it with a pendulum design.

Un lavoro da certosino complimenti veramente bravo
Love it, First vid of yours I've seen! I feel the need to build a mini CNC lathe now. What steppers are you using and what drivers?
