That rocker cover has to be the most recognisable of any performance engine ever in my eyes. Even tho I'm over at the dark side with the early Vauxhall xe engines. I would love a cosworth 🤘🤫
Another great video. Really nice way to spend half an hour. I used to love Cossie's when i was a kid, but between you and Adam, you've really rekindled my love of them.
Never miss anything with these guys in. The knowledge is just second to none. True custodians of the glory days of cars for me. Ant and Dec clearly model themselves in you boys on camera relationship
That’s a great back story with the 1 oiner black 500. Gonna be a great useable car when done. Hopefully, it’s owner will get plenty of use from it, even in his advancing years 🙏🏻
can you remember the cityrover [yeuck] one had a crack in the head down the oil drain passage back to the sump, which went into the inlet side. it would only smoke after over-run, the high vacuum sucking the oil out of the crack, + into the cylinder, so only one puff of smoke each time. never saw the crack... shit, that was 20yrs ago, i need to retire... [tata indica]
Love the thunder saloon! Always liked them in period. Quite subtle. Would be fabulous to see one made to road spec but finished like a genuine 500 road car. Interesting stuff guys as usual.
Hi Paul and Steve, plenty going on guy's. 4 wheel alignment kit is a great addition to the workshop. Dry ice will be interesting too see results wise, its amazing to see how one perceived little job grows and grows isn't it, now these cars are 30 plus yrs old. Great video as always. Alex.
@@paullinfoot6017 Won’t find me missing anything you guy’s post, great team, great banter and a subject matter for Ford petrolheads start to finish. Your workshop is just viewing heaven, even when you’re chatting, above your head is a row of bikes etc, etc… Once you get used to the 4 wheel alignment gear, would be interesting to see you guy’s set a car up prior to release back to a customer video. Alex.
Another good one, look forward to these, also I can really appreciate that you find the time to do these whilst gettin shit done. Harvey’s got all the engines. The barn find is gonna be a nice car for the owner, definitely. As always thanks 🙏🏻 🫡
Hi guys. Thank You for another great video. I´m a huge fan of the RS500 and your love and passion for this GREAT icon of a 80s race car. The car that squashed them all back then.. I like watching you walking around i the shop, talking about the different projects.. I feel like being 5 years old watching into a candy store.. Love it..! Please keep up the good work👏😀. Thanks from Denmark
Remember years ago when i used to go to car cruises with my skyline r33 mate called lee from leeds. he had a mechanic mate over on moors on m62 he was called rusty he had a capri 4x4 cosworth powerd he built the car. he had a thunder saloon cosworth shell in his garage. not sure if rusty is still around but he used to race in lots of events against other escort cosworths. the guy fitted me a uprated torque convertor for me in my supra. many years ago round about 2002 to 2003
Awesome video guys once more👍👍 I don't think you mentioned why the Thunder saloon was in for..or was it in to show it off before it's sale.? Also... Sell me one of your jackets please Paul....😉 Signed also.... please. Would be a nice excuse for me to come up to see you again. 👍👍👌
We are on the case of shirts / jackets / hoodies etc and looking for a company who can manage the sales side for us ( we just dont have the time ) so it will all be available very soon , thanks for the interest
Great update as always. Nice to see the continual investment in kit too. I think the white/fluorescent orange thunder saloon was owned by the Woodcock family, possibly run by G.Hathaway at the time?
Excellent video again lads. Ford should award you guys a ford motorsport official garage and supply you with every off the shelf part you require for them to keep the legendary cars alive. Would be great to see the original 90's ford livery on your workshop just as I rember them back in the day. Well done guys top job!!
How you much you want for the forklift Penfold ? Talk to me…😂 the Labatts car looks epic but I’d take the Texaco car all door, that is going to be mega when it’s finished. Great vid guys, lot of graft , that white 3 door 👌🏻
Iv got 3 Evo’s, in various states of tune, and if I’m honest, never had much of a hankering to own a Cosworth, but over the years iv really started to appreciate them a lot more, through watching your videos and Adams. Would love to own one, but I’m afraid i wouldn’t be able to drive it as intended, as iv never owned a rear wheel drive car. Been spoiled with the ease of driving 4 wheel drive Impreza’s and Evo’s, over the last 20 years!
Another fantastic and addictive video from you guys. Keep on it Paul and a Steve! Your attention to detail is just amazing, no wonder they thought Soper car was a real one! Gutted I missed the NEC. I will make it up to see you guys 👍🏁
Great turnout at the NEC for you lads. For the age of these cars I'm surprised they don't take more upkeep. Obviously some do but generally they are all in decent condition even after sitting for years. Thanks for sharing your work lads.
I heard a guy say that these older cars would live with 600hp with the tech of the day because with the older turbo tech, the boost didn't come on right from the get go , but halfway up the rev range. But with the modern turbos the boost is dumping in pretty much off idle and its that much harder on engine parts and drivelines
Nice video once again guys loved the new wheel alignment machine . Would love to see you both working and doing jobs on the road cars for my own knowledge that comes from the professionals 👍
Interesting to see the thunder saloon built as a replica of the ex-Laurence Bristow A.R.E chassis that evolved into a thunder saloon, even carrying his name I noticed. I remember Sean Walker's LuK/ FAI chassis went the same way. On the subject of A.R.E cars, any information on Andy's ICS 500? What became of it after its Goodwood Festival accident.? I've seen a replica that was kicking around, always wondered what happened to the genuine car.. Thanks guys.
Was the head cast and could it have a cast problem and I have know it with come heads with pourous head casts and the can leak throw the cast especially water ways and always fantastic videos
Hi Paul I used to work for Weber UK and we helped Andy Rouse with the remapping of the Rouse Sport 302 and 304 cars do you support any customers with these cars? All the best Les👍👍👌
Great reply Paul I understand your passion for these iconic cars wishing you all the best loving your videos great to see a restorer who goes the extra mile cheers Les👍👍
I just love the feeling of 'I'll just replace that part....oh OK ill replace that too....oh whilst that's out I'll clean that up....' 😂😂 never really ends.
Love watching your videos on a Saturday night much more entertaining than the rubbish on tv 😂👍🏻
That rocker cover has to be the most recognisable of any performance engine ever in my eyes. Even tho I'm over at the dark side with the early Vauxhall xe engines. I would love a cosworth 🤘🤫
It490 in the background first 😮class my dream bike had a 175 and a 250 they were bonkers enough lol👍
Now the mother of all tool cabs I paused it and sat in awe for a good two minutes bravo sir the one who dies with the most toys wins 😮
the one who dies with the most toys, still dies.
Another great video. Really nice way to spend half an hour. I used to love Cossie's when i was a kid, but between you and Adam, you've really rekindled my love of them.
Thanks for tuning in Malcolm , we appreciate it and your comments

Fascinating what you guys are able to achieve to keep these classics going. Brilliant.
Cheers
Love the thunder saloon! Always liked them in period. Quite subtle. Would be fabulous to see one made to road spec but finished like a genuine 500 road car. Interesting stuff guys as usual.
Think there was one featured in performance ford or fastford many many years ago...
There have been a few over the years with this kit fitted , there is even a genuine rs500 road car with it fitted
Great detailed video guys, some very interesting projects......
thanks Adrian

Your attention to detail is just amazing, no wonder they thought Soper car was a real one!
Gutted I missed the NEC.
I will make it up to see you guys 👍🏁
Thank you
At least we'll get a real world honest view of ice blasting. Looks brilliant but how can the result be preserved, can you investigate for us? 🤔
We are on the case now mate , so look out for an update
Great turnout at the NEC for you lads. For the age of these cars I'm surprised they don't take more upkeep. Obviously some do but generally they are all in decent condition even after sitting for years.

Thanks Jon , NEC was great and we got to meet many of our subscribers

can you do a vlog of the mx bikes upstairs please!!
We will sort this as soon as we have a little extra time , thanks Baz
Nice video once again guys loved the new wheel alignment machine . Would love to see you both working and doing jobs on the road cars for my own knowledge that comes from the professionals 👍
We plan to film more hands on stuff , just the time is the issue , we need some young lad who wants to get into this kind of thing to come and help us
Is the cambelt the wrong way on the white car, should be rotational arrow on it
What fuel pressure regulator do you use when replacing the original , and is it a direct replacement..thanks
Paul , is there any truth in the eggenberger cars being fitted with a special casting of the engine block ?.
Great Channel 👍🏼
Now that would be telling , wink wink

The genuine car is in a private collection in the UK
Busy week for you guys and like the super thunder saloon and the wide bodykit. How wide are the rims on it, over the standard road car?
Ill have to measure them John , but i would say at least 4/5 inches wider than std
Hi Les , we will support any cosworth , we love them all
Great reply Paul I understand your passion for these iconic cars wishing you all the best loving your videos great to see a restorer who goes the extra mile cheers Les👍👍
The Thunder Saloon Labatts car was owned and raced by Tony Ryan of Touring Car Spares many years ago (in the white & orange livery)
Thats correct Colin
I just love the feeling of 'I'll just replace that part....oh OK ill replace that too....oh whilst that's out I'll clean that up....' 😂😂 never really ends.
you have been there , lol
@paullinfoot6017 oh god yeah. As an engineer, it will never escape me haha.
Good Grief Penfold.
On the TCAs do you put OEM bushes in or powerflex?
oe if we can get them Andy
What body kit is on that Labbats car?
Im not sure what make it is , but its known as a thunder saloon body
Did the high tech QR codes help
