Those shorts were lovely. You could so easily take those in yourself. All you have to do is take off the waistband take in the amount on each seam divided by the number of seams then pit back the waistband. Erica you would be fine, you have a sewing machine don't you?! Everyone starts somewhere. So many tutorials on TH-cam to help you. It's just straight seams.
