Blue Valentine Q&A following TIFF 2010 screening (partial)

Latter half of Blue Valentine Q&A following screening at Toronto's Ryerson Theatre at Toronto International Film Festival on Sept 15, 2010, featuring director Derek Cianfrance, actor Ryan Gosling and young actress Faith Wladyka. Michelle Williams was not present. (I started recording about a third into the Q&A after taking some pics...missed a sweet moment when Ryan led a 'Happy Birthday' song for a swooning audience member, sadly not me.)

Isabelle Hadid she just said she liked working with Ryan because they got along really well, then she was asked if she enjoyed making the movie and if she has any other movies lined up and she said she did enjoy it and she's had some auditions but hasn't gotten a role yet

Around 06:30 in the video, Ryan makes the point that they first filmed the 'falling in love' scenes during production, took a month to live together, and then filmed the concluding break-up scenes of 'Blue Valentine'. Then in the very next question, some girl asks him the exact same question, so he kind of chides her for not listening by asking "You getting high back there? What's going on?...At least share with everybody so you'll all be the same."

In response to the tattoo question, Ryan said, I think, "The Giving Tree seemed like a good idea because it's about a co-dependent and a classic enabler." Considering the subject matter of the movie and his character Dean's relationship with his wife, it seems the tattoo was put on just for this movie. (That's how I interpreted the answer.)
