What a guy. The appeal is that you can tell he’s not a showman. He’s actually that charming and gracious. So humble. What a GENTLEMAN.
He’s literally been a prancing showman since he was a child. That’s doesn’t make him bad. But saying he’s not a showman is absurd. Good actor and nice person by all accounts.
And naturally funny…another gift!

I am from Toronto and just turned 40 last week. I have been following Ryan's career since Breaker high, Ready or Not, AYAFTD etc. Canadian shows. In 2005 I was on a trip from Toronto to Israel. There was talk Ryan was on the flight, After 15 hour flight that started at 6am Toronto time, we landed. As I walked off the gate, I walked past Ryan. I made sure to slow walk so that he would catch up, I asked if he was infact Ryan Gossling and he said yes. I asked for a photo (and then a group photo) he said sure. I told him I have been following his career since Breaker High and that he was a funny guy. He said thanks and then asked us all where we were from. I Said Toronto and he said he was from Cornwall (just east of Toronto) He said thank you for being a fan and was truly honored. This was the time The Notebook had came out and he had blown up. He truly was such a nice person.
He choked up thinking about being without movies as a kid. So moving.
He doesn't let stardom get to his head. It's this that makes him stand out from many in Hollywood.

Such an under-rated actor ... all of the films he has done would simply not work if he wasn't in them! He adds so much to every film ... brings so much to his characters it leaves you wanting more, plus he makes everyone better - whether they're in front of or behind the camera. On top of it all he would be the last person to say it. Congrats Ryan! And thank you for reminding me of the grace and beauty that come with humility.
I think he's finally come into his own with Barbie. He's also aged so well. He has always been handsome but now he's hot too. His older stuff will be trending too.

One of the very few greatest actors of all time and a really good and unique funny speech, very in character. One thing I noticed is he forget to thank Nicholas Winding Refn, the director of Drive, hope everything is cool between them because they are great collaborators together.
Different film, and I think he thanked him frequently for that opportunity.

There’s no role he hasn’t made incredibly special. I’ve watched most of the movies he’s been in and there’s no one like him. His weirder roles, his darker roles, his romantic roles and everything in between are mainly underrated. He’s truly a beautiful actor. The way he treats women and his kindness are just very commendable.
