You are spot on. I worked with start ups in product and technical program management for around 7 years, and joined Amazon in 2021. In these 7 years have got tremendous opportunities to work on developing new products from scratch. After joining Amazon I realized that they have relatively slow pace, which is obvious considering their vast scale of business, distributed teams, and it's worth having this experience at this scale. Working in startups helped me to put my learning and add value to this scale of Amazon. Amazon is giant, hence obviously slow but you contribute at huge scale. Overall start ups give you faster and dynamic learning because they strive to hold their grounds; launch fast, fail fast and apply learning to revamp the products you build. All this can be experienced in a short span.

Whatever and which ever startup you join, whatever technology you pick. Over all there is something called domain. So learn and stick to the domain. Try to find the problem statement of a domain and then bring technology to solve it. And domain is not learnt on shorter cycle of work. Rest is always individual choice to work around it. Best if luck.
