Clarification: This unit is for a 2019-2021/22 non-refresh Sierra or Silverado. For the Refreshed 2022+ versions and GM SUVS, Range now has a new product: DFM MODULE GM REFRESH
DFM Module for Refresh V8 models - 2021-2024 GM SUV and 2022.5-2024 GM 1500 Truck
    Part RA007
Please look up your vehicle on their website to be sure.

@Donslife I have a 2019 AT4 6.2 with 10 speed. It has the factory performance package (exhaust, CAI, Tune). I dont get all the drone with this package as i read about from others that add aftermarket exhaust. Is it possible the factory tune disables DFM? I cant find any good responses to this question online….

Don, are you sure this works? If you go on the range website, the 10 speed either 5.3 or 6.2 is not listed. I also had this in combination with my edge insight, and can confirm it did NOT stay in V8 mode all the time.

They FINALLY came out with the disabler for the 2022 refresh and on...except instead of OBD2 port, it plugs into ECU. DFM only kicks in when you are coming to a stop, which Range says can happen.

I’ve had a Pulsar installed on my 2020 for 3 years now. Never looked back. The only thing that sucks is the MPG (13 maybe 😂) but that’s it. Never had a problem of any kind with the LT installed. The tire size adjust and throttle control option with the Pulsar is a bonus

It would be DFM on a 2020 5.3 and a 2020 6.2. Your window sticker would also list it as Dynamic Fuel Management

If you don’t want to have lifter issues, you’re going to have to do a DOD/AFM delete. Even trucks built during the pandemic still have lifter issues. The only thing missing is the electronics. I had a 2022.5 Silverado 1500 with the 6.2. I didn’t use the truck much so I never had any issues with it. A year and a half later I sold it and purchased a 2024 Silverado 2500 LTZ Duramax. There are no fuel saving devices as it’s not EPA rated. So it should be a nice long lasting vehicle. Naysayers will say that the emissions systems will fail, but I don’t buy it. By the time it fails, I’ll be long gone.

I have been running the Pulsar LT on my 2021 GMC Sierra AT4 (6.2L) without any issues. It works fine. The two #1 reasons were for AFM/DFM and Auto Start/Stop. The Pulsar added a couple of other nice features, like tire size correction and throttle position. Pretty sure my truck is prob out of warranty now...so, not really concerned about that. Like you, I have done more frequent oil/filter changes using Mobil 1 only. Truck runs strong.

My pulsar is in the box gathering dust. 2020 6.2 AT4 10spd and after months of no problems I finally started getting the random fault messages and being thrown into limp mode; after trying everything else the internet recommended I took the pulsar out of the equation and the issue stopped. Started flaking almost everyday where I would have to disconnect power to the truck to clear the fault or else engine wouldn't start! This DFM and auto start stop eliminator paired with peddle commander is my pulsar replacement for about 10 months now and zero issues 🤞🤞 ymmv obvi

Thank you Don, another great video!! I've been cussing that darn Auto Stop/Start function ever since I bought my truck. Because of this video, I bought one of these Range Technology devices and plugged it in this morning on my 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali with the 6.2 liter engine and it works GREAT! Took care of that darn Auto Stop/Start function and has the added benefit of disabling the AFM/DFM function as well. I will let people know that on mine, the light on the Auto Stop/Start button in the center column stays on, but the function is disabled which makes me smile every time I come to a stop!!!

I use BT Diesel AutoSync that allows many benefits (lighting changes, window switch activation and many more) - also for AFM.
Love it! No need to have a dongle plugged in constantly.
Also, I did use Holley's Superchips F5 Flashpaq for tire sizes and a 91 octane tune (tuned out AFM on it, too, but the Autosync let's me get into the BCM for changes).

Just looked it up for the 2023 Sierra 1500 truck (6.2L v8). Installation requires removing the driver wheel, wheel well liner, and installing it in-line with one of the ECM connectors. So zero chance of being able to simply remove it as wanted (like the pre-refresh trucks).
IF it was as easy as you mentioned, I'd consider it. With this installation process, chances are low that I'll get one.

According to Range Technology the Pulsar LT does not leave any type of footprint on the PCM or ECM. With both of these units the only issue is emissions testing, you may need to disconnect them a few days prior to testing because they both disable some of the internal/automatic vehicle testing and this will show up during the emissions testing. With it unplugged the vehicle returns to the automatic testing within a couple of days of normal driving. Been using both of them in different vehicles I’ve lost about 1 mile per gallon on fuel efficiency, which to me is not a big deal knowing that my V8 stays a V8 at all times!!!

Have you never gotten an odd warning or message displayed that you thought was just a fluke? For me it was service parking brake and some other sensor gladly forget but I dealt with random warning messages that went from maybe once a month to daily once it got worse even sending my pulsar in for warranty (nothing found wrong 😂) after about 10 months now without pulsar I'm having zero issues. Had to install a couple things to replace the features I wanted but those have never left me stranded... Until I could unplug the negative terminal of battery at least! Obviously you haven't dealt with the worst side of it but just curious if pulsar owners are getting random warning messages they don't attribute to the pulsar and just assume it's a fluke 🤷‍♂️
