Thanks for this video. I am a huge aarkham fan, and I impulse bought GK on sale. It's in the mail and I wondered if I had made a mistake. Every other video I found felt obnoxious to me, thanks for keeping it real. I feel good about the price I paid now and I know what to expect.
That's the problem I had playing it- expecting another addition to the Arkham series. Have to get away from that frame of mind to it really enjoy this game if you treat it as a stand alone ✌️
I hate this game with a passion and that annoys me because as a DC fan, I really wanted to love it but the story, the gameplay and the boss fights really did nothing for me. It's not because I wanted it to be Arkham or like Arkham but it's just that compared to those games, it just wasn't as good. It had a lot of potential but WB Montreal completely screwed up this one and we had to wait 9 years for another Batman game from them. It feels very disappointing but if some people like it or want to play it, that is absolutely fine. It's just not for me.
Honestly seeing it and playing again makes me genuinely upset at this game it’s so bad especially how they capped it at 30 fps also if you didn’t have a next gen console well you don’t get to play get some money basically and waste another couple bucks on this game like this game awful for me at least .
While I agree with most of the points on this video (I also agree that it's an above average experience on the whole), I was probably in the minority of players who not only had very few issues at launch but also very much enjoys the game. I liked the story, especially the side parts that focused on the Knights, their interactions with each other and how they were all coping with the state of things. There was a lot of charm to it all for me. One difference in experience for me from Blitz's, is how the villains were handled. I thought they were all pretty well done, Harley in particular. I thought her voice actress nailed the character, and I especially like her interactions with Batgirl. I thought they all came to satisfying conclusions, as well. I honestly hope we get a sequel that smooths out some of the rough edges and lets us face off against some more of Batman's enemies.
Its a really good game, however i think initially they tried centering th3 game around multiplayer and micro transactions and then scrapped that which led to the issues to the game. But the game is realllly fun
I have not played it of course cause I don't have a gaming system but I had loved watching you play it blitz and by the way thanks for the awesome video.
If you go in with super low expectations the games going to be a solid eight… I get why people hate the game when compared to the Arkham franchise. As a DC fan I found it refreshing playing as Batman’s conflicted sidekick’s, beating up police and being able to switch in between characters….They should make a sequel and take their time with it, call it Gotham knights: battle for the cowl……

The game's writing is similar to something you would find on CW. It's very cringy and has a lot of forced drama. I personally didn't like how the Court of Owls was presented. I also feel like the game's character swapping feature hurt the overall narrative. The individual members of the bat family could've used more focus into their lives. It's never explained or showed why they have so much love for Gotham or how they interact with it beyond being heros. If you're curious, I would recommend watching clips on TH-cam instead of buying.
The campaign is actually pretty fun especially with a friend. The game is in Game Pass (& was released in PS Plus). You can also find the game for less than $30 at retail & at that price I think it's definitely worth it. The video provides plenty of pros & cons to the game so listen to see if you'll like. I honestly think the story is better than people give it credit. It appears that the story is best suited to play as Red Hood, but they all have unique scenes for each character.
It's also on the current humble choice bundle (aug 2024). Should be available for another 6 days or so. 12 bucks gets you this game with other cool stuff.
The game was released back when I’m still playing Batman: Arkham Knight! And I said, “After I finished Arkham Knight, I’ll definitely purchase and play Gotham Knights” But then, almost everyone say Gotham Knights is awful and a very terrible game. So I’m really starting to have second thoughts… But still I decided to purchase it, because I love to explore Gotham city after I played Batman Games. And I’m enjoying it! I mean, tbh, the combat in Gotham Knights are quite repetitive and boring compare to Arkham Knight but I still manage to enjoy playing it hehe. What I mean by combat is in AK there’s a lot of movesets/reversals and etc. But in GK it lacks in that kind of concept. Plus, I’m getting annoyed how slow GK heroes took it very slow to take down enemies silently. Compare to Batman when he is performing silent takedown on AK (the reason maybe because the protagonists on GK are still young and learning while Batman on Arkham Knight are more experienced) But anyway, I’ll give GK 7/10… It’s lacking something but still great to play for me! Also the co-op feature is really entertaining! Sometimes when you’re fighting a lot of enemies, other players may join your world and help you fight without you even noticing that they have entered the world haha Arkham Knight and Gotham Knights have different developers that produced different outputs that quite disappointed a lot of people but some still found it fun and surprising! I’m with the fun and surprising part, I mean, it’s quite good to see new things and mechanics once in a while hehe
The game feels...half baked. Like the ingredients were there but the devs gave up halfway. A half baked loot system, half baked combat with spongy enemies, half baked story and half baked traversal. The fact that you can't replay missions as a different character is so mind boggling

Just saw that it was added when I jumped on to play Starfield hence why I'm watching this video. I'm definitely going to check it out here in a few hours; probably after I finish the Starfield main quest. After 110+ hours I'm ready to start the NG+ part of my playthrough but I'm definitely keeping this playthrough backed up for the purpose of doing everything I possibly can on a save without going NG+. I've got a few cool ships, a bunch of credits, done almost every faction quest, so I don't wanna lose that. Sorry for going off track with a Starfield tangent, it's really gotten ahold of me lol. I'll definitely be there on Gotham Knights later tonight, see y'all there!!!!
7 for lack of actual strategy great graphics and solid mechanics cool boss interaction but overall nothing spectacular I wish it had a deeper rpg aspect but I’m having fun playing it
I do main Nightwing because I find his abilities the most practical whereas robin's first unlocked ability is worthless Redhood can have his ultimate interrupted, and his second unlocked ability is also interruptible as well as his first ability not being able to hit bigger targets. Not only that but his skill tree is pretty bad with minor buffs. Robin's second unlocked is just an attack most of the time without any defense due to timings and although his ultimate is good and is definitely the best part of his kit he's still overall bad. Batgirl is... well like Redhood she has an Interruptible ability and basically her ultimate is just a nerfed Nightwing nest. Seeing as it isn't constant damage and the heals aren't very consistent. Redhodd has an ability buffing his melee. Why? It's already super power full and doesn't help his weaker guns. Even Nightwing's triple darts can 1 shot enemies but now Redhood's guns. And now time for the traversal. Nightwing's is without a doubt and I mean there's no chance he has competition for the best traversal. The flying trapeze has infinite time for movement whereas Batgirl can't go up. Redhood is constantly losing height with his, and Robin has 8 seconds to use his. Now Robin's is pretty good as his is amazing for stealth but his abilities certainly are not helping with that. Redhood has very bad combos being super slow. Bat girl doesn't really have abilities to deal with multiple enemies and a single target bruiser is not good against a group of enemies making that "pro" pointless. Nightwing has many useful abilities and is good against a variety of enemies. Additionally the support abilities on his skill tree are way too good. He can heal other people with his ranged attack! I honestly think Nightwing has to be the best.
I just finished the game single player the whole way through. Some battles were challenging but overall it wasn't impossible. I think the biggest issues with the game are the character movement was a bit clunky and it was a little too much grinding for my taste. Otherwise I liked the story and how each of the knight plays very different to each other. All in all I think it is not a bad game.
Compared to Arkham, where all they had to do was keep the same engine and play store and record a NEW STORY.... this game was a MISERABLE FAILURE!!! How they thought this was an improvement and went into development and sale with this shows, they didn't know WTF they were doing
For solo campaign non-competitive games I don’t see why fps or refresh rate would matter to anyone. There’s no advantage to having 30fps vs 60fps in this kind of game. Split second response time isn’t really needed here. Basically asking devs to code the game to send you twice the amount of data per second for no real advantage except for graphical smoothness. It’s like me not wanting to buy a game because the audio doesn’t support Dolby Atmos. Is it nice to have in a game? Sure. But does it affect the core experience of the game? Absolutely not.
@@marcusstrinidadFor some it can cause problems of motion sickness, which can be a total game ruiner depending on how much the player is willing to tolerate it.
@marcusstrinidad bro everyone who says this must be blind. Turn a game that supports it to 30fps then turn it to 60fps. There is a very visible difference. 30fps feels sluggish if you're used to higher.
@@KodyLapointe yeah, I have an OLED and can game at 120 fps. But when I play games capped at 30fps they are perfectly suitable. Is there a difference? In a literal sense yes. Can you notice? Maybe if you’re looking for it. But does it make a PRACTICAL difference? That is a question of the type of game you’re playing. If I’m playing a competitive online game requiring precise timing and accuracy I’d much rather have the higher FPS and refresh rate. Because the fps/refresh rate will have a significant impact on where and when a reticle/hit marker will aim and appear vs how fast my opponent can do the same thing. But if I’m playing a solo player story driven game, 30 fps is perfectly playable. If anything the 30fps is more cinematic since movies and tv shows are typically in 24fps anyways. This is mostly practical because if movies were shot in 120fps they would require 4x as much film to shoot the same shot. And if the shot was bad you wasted 4x as much film. Which is why we settled on 24fps since that’s about as much as the brain needs to process motion smoothly. There really is no practical need to render 2-4 times more frames per second in a solo game to show the exact same content.
@@marcusstrinidad if I have a solo game I can run uncapped at whatever res I want, and a solo game that's stuck at 30fps; I'm gonna pick the uncapped one anyday. Sure if it's a game I really wanna play, I'll still play it. But once you're used to a certain framerate it's hard to go back to locked frame games. I mostly play on PC and have a beefy setup so it saddens me to see my series x limit certain games to 30fps when others are able to run 60 w rt etc. We shouldn't be condoning companies still locking games at 30fps. Time to move past 30fps no? We left 1080p a long time ago.
Blitz was saying facts with how folks think games that are decent are absolute the worst, we always have to have phenomenal and groundbreaking or a game that deserves a chance in all honesty will outcasted, the developers will be insulted with random assumptions and negative reviews from folks who had never even TRIED it will continue to have it decline because nobody can have their own opinions. Gotham Knights, like the majority of games nowadays, just didn’t live up to the Arkham games or Spider-Man PS4 even but if it’s in a ranking, it deserves at least a C-B tier placing would be fair. They tried to make a triple-A, they aimed for it but didn’t quite hit the mark and we have plenty of games like that… if it’s just not your taste you don’t need to trash on it. It doesn’t deserve even half the hate it got. Tbh, one of it’s worst qualities is more that it lacks enough content.
I played through it as Nightwing. Upgraded everyone. Honestly to have this game come from the studio that made Arkham Origins which is my favourite Arkham game sucks. Chasing that live service money is ruining games
On X play rating A 3 out of 5 Adam Sandler voice. Same red hood & batgirl all day. I actually like the game a lot, it enters in a room many game developers were scared too go.
Dropped $100 on this at launch and it's maybe my most regretted purchase. Had and still have many technical issues. So many issues come to down preference obviously but the gameplay loop never hit for me, the combat always felt clunky, enemy design was woefully inconsistent, and I never finished the campaign out of pure frustration. Sad because I like these characters
Gotham knights was really good, if you forget about the arkham verse and think about it as an Rpg game, it is really good. I wish it was a Teen titans game more than Bat family
I’d say the game is just fine. I actually pre ordered the game and played it a day early by time hacking my Xbox cause I was pretty excited for it The gameplay is ok it’s fun somewhat stale but it’s passable The story I was really liking until the ending. If this game had the more free flow combat implemented like Arkham and the ending was different like say keeping Batman dead or just actually bringing him back and not killing him a 2nd time after his resurrection I’d say the game would be a solid 8/10. I’d say it’s like a 6.5/10 as it sits for gameplay that is a tad too clunky and a story that has a really messy ending. It’s definitely not as bad as people tried to make it out to be tho.
I thought it was pretty fun, but then again I have only played redhood and my friend I co-op with plays bat girl. So we accidently got the best experience lol
I enjoyed the game. I finished it playing Batgirl but also used Robin every now and again. I am now playing with Red Hood and the game is much easier with him but not as fun as with Batgirl or Robin. I couldn’t get into playing Nightwing (too Daredevil-esque). Don’t know why they made Jason Todd into such a physically large character but I didn’t mind his traverse.
As someone who has never played Gotham Knights, I really wish you had showed some actual gameplay footage rather than cutscenes or that same clip of Red Hood fighting the robot. Oh, and the occasional menu screen.
Bro fr, as someone who played tf out of Gotham knights the gameplay is actually really good and varied there’s mods for abilities a lot of combo routes for every character they feel pretty unique as well
Of course the batman trilogy is always a classic and good af to play, byt the past 2 days ive been playing gotham knights i didnt expect to like it that much, i feel like their aim with this wasnt to be like the arkham games, the combat fun, the graphics remind me of a comic which is good in my opinion, the gameplay is smooth, i held off and ignored it cause of all the bitchin n complainin glad i got it for 25$ well worth the purchase free roam is fun too, im suprised ac valhalla, far cry 6, biomutant, gotham knights all became aome of mt favorites now glad i stopped listening to mfs complaints n whinin about it
maybe if it had a better combat system, traversal, 60 fps i wouldve given this a chance since i am a massive fan of the arkham trilogy which i play once every few years but this game is so bad compared to it that i just cant. It feels so unpolished and unfinished its sad and yes you can say its not an arkham game but it is a spiritual successor and the bar is set very high...
Just got this game November 2023 on ps5 and I'm having alot of fun. Is it perfect? No. Is it fun? Absolutely. Don't listen to others and experience it yourself and form your own opinion. People just like to nit pick.
When you have easily 30 to 50 known/ liked batman villains and another 100 DC characters outside batman characters idk why not flood these games with villains. Especially bc it so easy to write them in.
Reminds me of Far Cry 6, although for slightly different reasons. On last gen consoles, Far Cry 6 was trashy, but I never heard anyone complain about it on current gen consoles. My thing is, if you can't make the game work on older tech, don't release it on older tech period. Playstation does a much better job of making their newer games work well on last gen. I will say I was pleasantly surprised by Halo Infinite. It ran incredibly smoothly compared to what I thought it would run

I just got this game today for my birthday! I hope it’s good when I play it
yo thats my birthday :D
@@CC_Editz1 happy birthday for then
I just finished the game single player the whole way through.
So should I get this game? It's on sale on Xbox for about $17. I'm a fan of Batman and the Arkham games.
Has there been any new content added to the game ?
Just got it for a $10 sale from best buy.
You got a deal kid. Pat yourself on the back.
The trailer hype though
The irony is the at the start he talks about the what all he did in the game with the spider man bgm
I just wish it was 60fps… that’s a must in 2023 right?
@@marcusstrinidad
if I have a solo game I can run uncapped at whatever res I want, and a solo game that's stuck at 30fps; I'm gonna pick the uncapped one anyday.
Been playing miles is so is it just me or is the music used Miles morales or I’m I going crazy
Nah you ain't going crazy bro lol, the music definitely is from Miles, unless we're both going crazy 👀🤷🏽♂️
Game is amazing. I want sequel
Sad because I like these characters
rip
Why did you do that with your hard earned money man
thats what you deserve for buying day one, im happy you had a bad experience
Don’t feel bad bro, some people preordered GTA definitive edition..
@@Basedmistergeneralbro I was one of those people I was mad but my game wasn’t that game breaking just disappointed
Should I play it on the Xbox series x or PS5 after they fix it and updated
Gotham knights was really good, if you forget about the arkham verse and think about it as an Rpg game, it is really good. I wish it was a Teen titans game more than Bat family
I absolutely love this game!!!! 🎉
Ia it worth the $17 it's asking on sale right now?
Just got it as I need something new Batman related in my life rn lol I’m a dc fan so I’m definitely the target audience
I am a huge nightwing fan, is this worth picking up??
Yes bro as a nightwing stan myself he’s a beast in this game when you get the speed boost ability
I would give Gotham knights an 8/10
Obviously I like thee Arkham games more but I am taking it as it’s own game not comparing it to them over I think the good out was the bad
I liked it even at launch. Lots of violence.
I just beat the story and loved it
This game is extremely fun with a friend, however if you’re going to play a Batman game solo, stick with the four Arkham Games
I’d say the game is just fine. I actually pre ordered the game and played it a day early by time hacking my Xbox cause I was pretty excited for it
The gameplay is ok it’s fun somewhat stale but it’s passable
The story I was really liking until the ending.
I loved the game, but it felt too short
When he said kid I was kinda like ok well let’s figure out what the annoyances are and if it’s really that bad
I love the game, I still hope to this day there will be a dlc update or even an update go bring it the suits from the titans series
I’m still having fps drops in PS5, but the game is fun!
Yeah same, also the pop in in the open world is annoying
I thought it was pretty fun, but then again I have only played redhood and my friend I co-op with plays bat girl. So we accidently got the best experience lol
Nah nightwing is the goat and it would’ve been peak if they did a dlc storyline where he becomes Batman and Damian is introduced as his Robin
I just wish 60fps were a option, but 4k 30 is acceptable, after all this new games who run 720p and shit with fsr, this is glory
Great review it’s a slightly better than average game.
Bro fr, as someone who played tf out of Gotham knights the gameplay is actually really good and varied there’s mods for abilities a lot of combo routes for every character they feel pretty unique as well
so its probably worth it on gamepass now, right?
It feels so unpolished and unfinished its sad
and yes you can say its not an arkham game but it is a spiritual successor and the bar is set very high...
Animations are big thing to, some of them are a little generic or stiff. Also I just front like bulky jason
Just got this game November 2023 on ps5 and I'm having alot of fun. Is it perfect? No. Is it fun? Absolutely. Don't listen to others and experience it yourself and form your own opinion. People just like to nit pick.
Can you do a video on Starwars survivor?
There's a story dlc?
Am I heading spiderman 2 theme music?
When you have easily 30 to 50 known/ liked batman villains and another 100 DC characters outside batman characters idk why not flood these games with villains. Especially bc it so easy to write them in.
I didn't buy at launch cuz of the 30 FPS. Apart from that I think the game is amazing
i love this game i dont get why people hates it
Did they ever fix the 30FPS ? We need 60 at least
7/10 for me. Its a good game
I just started playing it was fun so far
How is it compared to Arkham Asylum? 🤷♂️
I haven’t played yet so won’t watch it now but will once I do
Solid 7 but it is an amazing game it just needs more to do in it and animations
New Animations would make the game feel so much better.
Its also coming to Xbox game pass on Oct 2
Gamepass ftw!
Did they cross platform cause I got back on the other day and it said cross platform option
@@johnsthoncarrion8493Only for xbox and pc
So essentially buy on sale
Reminds me of Far Cry 6, although for slightly different reasons. On last gen consoles, Far Cry 6 was trashy, but I never heard anyone complain about it on current gen consoles. My thing is, if you can't make the game work on older tech, don't release it on older tech period. Playstation does a much better job of making their newer games work well on last gen. I will say I was pleasantly surprised by Halo Infinite. It ran incredibly smoothly compared to what I thought it would run
To everyone who sees this comment, is it worth buying this? Because I’m really interested in this game I just want to know your thoughts because I can’t decide some people say it’s trash some say it’s mid some day it’s good. Please help me.
Honestly up to you, me personally I hate this game with a passion hate everything about it from the story to the fighting and the villains also the open world is boring but again for me its boring it also feels very short. Also you gotta remember this game is capped at 30fps
@@Notwedsquid oh, thanks for your opinion man. I still have a hard time making the decision but thanks
