Here you go, from the internet... A positive ground works exactly the same as negative ground. The ONLY difference is current in a positive ground system flows the opposite direction from current a negative ground system. Think of left hand vs. right hand threads - both accomplish the same thing only one tightens the opposite direction from the other. Electrical loads like lights and "wound field" motors (includes virtually all starters, heater blower motors, etc) are not polarity sensitive - they turn the right direction regardless of polarity. THIS IS WHY HIS LIGHT WORKED ON THE DASH. Generators are easily changed from positive to negative ground (and back...) by "re-polarizing" the field windings - sending a current of the proper polarity thru the windings for an instant. Ammeters ARE polarity sensitive - they will read "backward" if connected the wrong polarity. However the fix is to simply swap the connections at both ammeter studs. Also some mechanical voltage regulators are polarity sensitive. They may contain clamping diodes, arc suppression capacitors, etc. that work on only the correct polarity. However if a regulator is not marked for polarity it will work fine on either ground polarity. ---- Why was positive ground prevalent thru the 1950's? Good question! I've seen it explained that positive ground provided a hotter spark at the plug electrodes, it reduces corrosion of body parts, etc. However no reason seems to stand up very well to rigorous engineering scrutiny. Rather I suspect positive ground was arbitrarily established as the standard early in the history of automotive/tractor electrics. And it remained the standard thru the 1950's. (That's just my guess however...) Transition to negative ground came with the change to 12 volt systems and the use solid state components such as alternator rectifiers, transistor auto radios, etc. Apparently these early devices were cheaper to manufacture for negative ground. Thus negative ground became the 12 volt ground standard and has been retained ever since.

Actually get the correct heavy cable if your going to stay with ,6volts
You never hammer on a battery post thats why your batteries are all junk .
Its not gonna run and what i mean by run is start and whst i mean by start is the electrical aystem is cooked and what i mean by cooked is i have no idea what im doing and what i mean by thst is we are probably related
It is Sunday Funday Chad & Jolene! Chad you do know that old Fords are positive ground electrical system. I hope if you do not have negative cable to positive battery post that nothing is burned. Jolene great work on the video as always!
Go get Jim he could help with that type of electrical system. This is getting hard to watch. Chad don’t be afraid to ask for help before you blow the battery up or fry some wires. Google it for him Jolene please. Love your show.
Where's Bruce, Aaron and the other "lovers" today? They're usually here early to BASH anything and anyone who dares to criticise and label them haters.
Perhaps, today they realise they'll be too busy trying to defend comments about the battery??
To make a comment and point something out isn't necessarily hate, criticism can be helpful.... keep that in mind "lovers"
Amen
Bruce , Aaron and the ''lovers'' are too busy doing push-ups in their Mom's basements ...
😢that small cable you wes trying to hammer on should have told you it's +ground
