Thanks so much for this - really simply explained and useful!
Thank you, this has been incredibly helpful!
Thank u so much man! It was really helpful! 🧡 Stay blessed! 🧡
Your The Best. You Explain really well
Lucid instructions!! Thanks
Thank you very much, i am very appreciated!!
Does landsat 9 have same radiometric correction algorithm with landsat 8?
Thank you!
Do I have to manually navigate to my preferred location. Can't I search for it?
hi, thank you so much!
The error says I do not have the required geotiff metadata format.
Could you do a tutorial on how to view the image as a tiff? I'm trying to create an aerial Timelapse of how the raw land looked but when I download it my Mac can't open the bundle product. I just want the tiff files of how the land looked without any modifications. The 48-74 imagery is perfect but when trying to get Landsat imagery it's a different beast. I'm so lost.
That's because the data come with each "color" band separately. So there isn't one that will show you what your eyes would see. For that, you have to combine the red, green, and blue bands into something called a "composite". You can do it with software like QGIS, which is free and open-source. If you know some Python coding, there is this library I wrote: www.compgeolab.org/xlandsat/ (I'm about to release v0.4 which should include a much better tutorial). I think you can also do this with Photoshop and the like but I've never done it. There should be plenty of tutorials if you search for "Landsat QGIS".
hey leonardo great video. what if i need just basic color? and digital elevation. do you know that formats i would need? thanks
Hi Sean!
For digital elevation checkout opentopography.org
For basic true color, you'd need to download the red, green, blue bands and create the composite yourself (I imagine any GIS software should have an option for this). Otherwise, there may be another webservice out there that provides this.
Thank you
Thanks for this useful video. Which dataset would you recommend if you need 10 to 50 m resolution?
Your best bet for public domain data of that resolution is Sentinel 2: sentinel.esa.int/web/sentinel/missions/sentinel-2
You can also try pansharpening Landsat data to 15m but this is fake resolution and only works for the visual bands: www.compgeolab.org/xlandsat/latest/pansharpen.html
I’m trying to find close up imagery of my house and property, but all the imagery I find is of a very large areas. Is there a way to get imagery that is very close and zoomed in?
Not really. The resolution of Landsat is 30 meters a house is a pixel or less.
Could you explain what you mean by ‘scene’? Is it the area you selected or a particular size of area specific to the satellite in question?
It's basically an "image". But since it contains more than just red, green and blue then we end up calling it a scene.
Cloud cover is not showing in my usgs
hi lewnardo would you support me to dawnload land sat 8 ethiopian data some part of two woreda that is gozamen and debre yeliyas
Sir kindly upload a video with regard to downloading of LANDSAT image of the year 1985.
That is Landsat 4
I have followed the steps but envi does not recognize my mlt.txt file. Can you help.
can you help me how to download ENVI software for free thanks
Gracias
My search always comes back with No Results Found -- but the map is on my screen - I know there are results, why can't it load them???
Maybe check the filters for dates and cloud coverage, which could be excluding all results. There may also not be any level 2 data, only level 1.
you shoud open a count
Thank you
