    Greetings,
If you're seeing this then yes, your eyes are not deceiving you, I have finally uploaded after a long period of hiatus due to my hectic schedule this semester working on my capstone project focused on game design/web design and 3D modeling. (Hence why I didn't have the time nor energy to even touch any arrangements)
But amidst one of those days when I was casually slaving away making a 3D model for my game, youtube was playing in the background and it randomly just switched tracks to Ghibli songs. Immediately, Mom's Broom played, along with other Kiki songs, and I immediately felt euphoric as Joe Hisaishi's Bukodan concert tracks began to play in the background.
Not surprisingly, when I got home, I immediately began working on this piece. Though, things started to get a little complicated, because this is a very simple song, and if directly transcribed to the piano, it can be pretty....bland.... additionally, I think i've caught a disease where if there's a simple passage on the sheet music, I would immediately, and most definitely, start making it 100000x harder than it should ever be.
Therefore, it took me 1.5 months of improvisation and experimentation to take this piece where it is now. I had a lot of dull moments this semester, and it is clearly reflected in this arrangement as I just pour it all out into the music. Game having crash bugs, problem finding creative innovation, deadlines, burnt out, etc.
Also more recently, I'm getting even more picky on music I hear, everything just sounds too generic and overly used nowadays. I've also gone even harder on how I improvise on the piano. Normally slapping triads here and there on a grand piano would've sufficed, but not anymore. Every-time I repeat the same hand techniques, I just lose the will to play.
Which is why, I took some time to actually nail down some techniques that my right hand desperaetly lacked till now - right hand muscle memory on scales. At the moment, I can drafty BS some RH runs down, but yea, it's just BS and it sounds fabricated. Nevertheless, all those BS is reflected on this arrangement where most of the runs are now being played by the right hand, a total opposite to my previous arrangement styles where I would harmonize more on the left hand, and narrate the melody on the right.
Because of this, i'm actually really satisfied with this arrangement, due to the fact that it's an entire semester's worth of feelings poured into crafting this sheet.
Though I may not get a ton of views on this, I still enjoyed arranging this, I hope you enjoyed listening to it too.
Again, I apologize if you don't have a 6th finger or an extra arm. Unless you're an alien, i'm afraid this sheet will be marked "impossible".

This is really underrated. The different techniques and trills and runs are literally so amazing. As someone who has decent experience on the piano, those right hands runs are my favourite, they're so light and fast, yet they add another layer to the music. I play lots of fast runs and far stretching arpeggios but this is a whole another level of complexity and amazingness. Most of this arrangement sounds like it'd come from multiple pianists playing at once. I have listened to this so many times for the last 5 months or so and I can't stop listening. I really hope your work gets more recognition because man this arrangement left me amazed for weeks.

Even if I could play this, which maybe I could idk would probably take awhile, it looks ridiculously hard so I'm not going to. But it's a shame I had to dig so much to find this, nice job

Really appreciate for this wonderful piece and your hard work!
I have fallen with this song since first time I met it.
This arrangement seems to bring out the deep emotion of it and creates the illusion of a grand orchestra.
I am looking forward to practicing. Thank you again :)

Fantastic arrangement! I absolutely love your arranging technique, the combination of crazy runs, slow/fast parts, use of triplets, etc, the end result is so lush and sublime and it creates the illusion of a grand orchestra that's not really there. This is why the piano really is the emperor of all instruments 😈 Kiki's Delivery Service is one of my favorite Studio Ghibli films and the music is breathtaking. I really want to get into other animes... I mainly do kpop piano covers, and I've noticed that most of the songs I like are songs that people say sound like anime openings 🤔 so I feel like there's a world out there waiting for me that I haven't explored... maybe somewhere in an alternate universe I would be an anime pianist... P.S. I'm not sure if you've heard of the Myers-Brigg personality type, but I'm guessing you are INTP? (same as me, someone who's also formally trained in the engineering sciences with a hobby of creating complex piano arrangements who prioritizes theory over practicality 😁)

Idk, fundamentally I arrange because there are better combinations than what I can improvise, new ideas are experimented and it goes beyond my playing limits as a *noob* pianist. I myself am studying game design and i'm mostly artistic, less theoretical.

That was eargasmic. Fascinating arranging techniques as usual
That ending strongly reminds me of Owari no Sekai Kara's brillant finale in Animenz's arrangement!

      @SheetMusicDesu  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Eargasmic, I know what you mean man, I keep doing air conducting during the ending when I arranged it, it was just plain fun to work on it when something finally goes the way you dreamed of it in your head lol.
I take a lot of influences from Animenz and Pianeet, his Owari no Sekai arrangement was on my head the whole time. Also for this video's quality, I used 2 piano VSTs together, the Pearl Concert Grand and Galaxy Vintage, which is absolutely gorgeous.
I kept re-watching my older videos and they were lacking "something", even as I switched between piano VSTs. The Pearl had fantastic high notes but terrible bass samples which were pretty outdated, on the other hand, Galaxy Vintage had fantastic ambient resonance, but it's notes were very hollow sounding.
In terms of satisfaction, this is my best work so far, second favourite is probably the Granblue one, then my Aria arrangement, which helped me build the fundimentals needed to do a reprise arrangement.
So these two pianos overlaying significantly increased the audio quality this time round.
Again bruh, I look for your comments all the time, thank you for supporting me this far ;3

This is so beautiful! One of the best anime arr out there! Although I think the audio quality could be better. At times I could hear a slight fizz sound and I think the sound is a little to muddle (maybe you have a implemented the pedal function too much?) but nevertheless that was beautiful!

Ageed, windows software always puts extra bass, idk how to get rid of it, but the soundcloud ver has less amb.

This really isn't a piano peice is it. It's a piano transcription of a much larger symphonic orchestra's sound. Though are some inherantly pianistic elements (e.i. some runs, the rest can be done string instruments i.e. violins) there's no reason why this wouldn't sound great on a full orchestra.

The more I listen to piano arrangements, the more I enjoy people like you who do not just try to replicate the original piece, but instead convert it into something that uses the full range of possible piano techniques. I can't even listen to theishter anymore, because everything he writes is so generic and boring,. Sadly, Animenz has recently fallen into the same hole. Really, only the stuff written by Yui Morishita and you makes me marvel anymore.
