    Thanks for watching! Did you notice something I got wrong or missed? Reply to this comment and add a timestamp so I can fix it in the subtitles.

      If the prince is an exile, you (as the chancelor) should take a citizen board, not exile board (1:05)

    Seven months later after making this video, I now know oath well enough to attempt the clockwork prince

    Great video. One thing: Per the Action Space on the Mindmap and the Rules the prince pays as much Favor and Secrets as he can to recover banners.

      That is correct! I'm not sure how I got that mixed up, but I've added a note and a subtitle. Thanks!

    I never thought I'd hear the sentence: look upon this forsaken eldritch geometry

    Single player variants of games are always nice, but sometimes can get SUper complicated. This one probably won't be so bad once you've done it a few times but it looks a little tough for the first time.
    Thanks for the video Shay.

      It starts off a little rough, but gets a lot easier as you play it.

      This one was really hard to understand for me initially, but as soon as I understood how the flowchart specifically worked, it was pretty easy to do the clockwork’s turns. I’ve played maybe 10 or so games with the clockwork. One big issue, though, is that if the prince is an exile, there’s a possibility he can end up in an endless loop for several turns, just repeating the same actions until the game is over, not impacting anyone. Also, I’ve sort of house ruled making it so the prince follows the rules on all cards and sites, because without it, it can make some of the cards feel absolutely useless against him.

    I love this game so much and can sadly rarely play it, so I always come back here and try again to understand anything, but it's in vain. ;(

    You didn't said from which bank the prince takes his favor when he trades

    When te CP trades for favour does he take it from the bank or from the supply?

    • @RTFM

      From the matching favor bank

    In the chronicle, how to determine the suit of edifice to be built?

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Looking back, I'm realizing that in the video I grabbed an edifice of the wrong suit. It should be the same suit as the denizen you replace. I'll add a note to eliminate confusion.

    Would should i do, when the clockwork prince have to draw 3 cards from the world deck, but itbis empty?

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  ปีที่แล้ว

      There should be enough cards in the world deck that that won't happen before the game ends.

      @@RTFM if you play with 3 Players and one Clockwork Prince this happens.

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@danielniederkrome3614 Ah, fair enough. I've only played it with two. The rules don't list an answer to this question. Looking on the BGG forums it seems like you pull from the discard pile "in whatever way seems fitting." I'd say pull the bottom card from each region or grab a couple from each region and shuffle them to make a new world deck.

    That''s a detail but a Chancellor player should use a *Citizen* board (not an Exile board): their win condition is then printed on the board, and there is no spot for any Revealed Vision, as they cannot play one.

    • @RTFM
      @RTFM  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep, someone else pointed that out as well. There's a note about it in the Klingon subtitles.

    Might be a correct description, but I find the speed of the explanation very unthematic und technical. Now I don’t want to play solo anymore 😅

      Great video as always. I didn’t understand one bit of it but is probably me not being clever enough.
      I saw the entire video and although I played Oath about 5 times now, I think this is way too complicated for me to even set up. In my opinion the game shines with real people.
      We have two copies of Oath in our group and I wanted to use mine as a solo but after this, I back out. Hopefully we can alternate between copies and see how both chronicles differ from each other.
      Otherwise I am afraid it is going to catch dust… I could sell it but I am so in love with the design and production quality I want to keep it, just to look at it. 😅
