    What you discovered is what Mark Crossfield said. Within 2 weeks people can over ride the settings. Trust me it doesn't take 2 weeks, in most instances it only takes 20 minutes. We get to try the clubs alot. Interesting enough testing on the grass is actually very similar. Of course we never tested above 3* in either direction lol.

    Did you have to do any heat treatment to get the lie that far or just cold bending? What bending bar did you use please. I am looking to make a set of irons at 72 degree lie. Do you think the Callaway x forged you used would be good choice that wouldn't break from bending? Any other clubs you think would be better choice? Thank you! Great content.

    No doubt you two had a few quiet “lemonades” once all the carry on you guys did whilst JR was in Perth. Good luck to you both. Watch both your channels all the time👍👍

    Makes me wonder how easily the loft and lie angles can change just from everyday wear and tear on the course. Good reason to have them checked periodically.

    For more than 35 years I have had or had access to a lie/loft machine and it was in the early mid 1990's that I found the softest forged Iron that bent easier and any other ever was the Hogan Apex Plus, A guy would bring me his irons to check and reset once a month and out of the set at least 3 were off out of the 8 irons he had, every single month. Great fantastic feeling irons but buttery soft feeling came with a price, keep getting the loft checked.

    That guy hits his 7 iron farther than my driver 🤦‍♂️

    James,
    All my irons and wedges are 1/2 inch longer that standard and +2 degrees upright. My fitting dictated these adjustments and I hit them rather good and consistent

    My irons, Ping i500, are 2 degrees upright. Getting fitted for every club in your bag, including your putter, is crucial to playing your best golf. Great video as always, James!

    Is Alex really a giant or is it just that James is well....standing further away from the camera? 😂

    For years I played my Irons 2deg upright but in an Iron fitting this year the fitter suggested that I should be 2deg flat! At first, I thought that he pass taking the Pizzzzzzzz, but when we tried the flat lie angle it was amazing how my Ball flight & strike suddenly improved!
    Previously I always had a tendency to Pull my shots left (particularly with my shorter scoring clubs), now my Ball flight is arrow straight, so my message is, never be afraid to experiment with the lie angles in your Irons.

    Think Al has previous experience with the upright one from trying Brysons clubs at Cobra. Pretty sure he struck them well there too

    Yeah I've said it before I've got soft blades and go for a hit as often as I can and my lies haven't been tested in 7 years. If they're still standard it would be a miracle.

    Callaway forge a great iron. I've 2014 Apex Pros and they've been changed in lie and loft several times and not a mark on them. Great Vlogs guys. When is Al taking you croc wrestling? Al your 💪💪💪💪

    Guy I work with at the course had issues with ball flight and was snap hooking everything even laying the face open to compensate for closing on contact, he got his old set back out and was night and day. Turns out that the clubs he was using was pushing 4.5 degrees upright and I tried them and began doing the same, hooking and pulling everything

    My irons are +1" @ 1 degree upright. I had 2* upright and with a normal swing it went too far left, but I could manipulate the lie angle with a little wrist cup at the top of the swing which opened the club face at impact. Unfortunately, that habit led to some bad things with clubs like driver. So I replaced my clubs this year. Much straighter with irons now.

    Now that was freakin cool. Makes me wonder if my clubs are the correct lie angle for me. Might explain some of the pushes to the right. Or at least what I think might be pushes. Hmmmmmm.

    I am 3 degrees flat from the P790. The 790 was a bit more upright then other clubs and the lie hd to increase a bit from my prior Cobras which were 1 degree flat

    Goes to show no matter what the bat is the player will react to the lie and after a couple of swings and manipulate the delivery to achieve the desired ball flight.

    When I use irons of standard length, they're 1.5 or 2 degrees upright. Current irons, at 3/4" short, are standard lie.
    If you'd done that to a Mizuno, I'd have been obligated to call the coppers!!!

  • @shaneducholke364
    @shaneducholke364 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    To really show the affects you should have hit draws amd fades with standard lie angle, then fades with flat lie and draws with upright lie. That way you wouldn't fight the lie angle amd always trying to use it.

    • @markthegolfaddict9051
      @markthegolfaddict9051 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      IMO clubs are all way too upright because manufacturers use lie to increase a draw flight.

  • @markthegolfaddict9051
    @markthegolfaddict9051 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm 2* flat. But I want to try 3 flat to help with my right to left flight.

    • @markthegolfaddict9051
      @markthegolfaddict9051 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kourt2469 starting too far left. Natural shot is right to left but ball seems to start center to left and then curve more.
      If I could start it a little right it would he a pretty draw.

    • @markthegolfaddict9051

      Irons. The shorter the more pronounced which is why I want to try a flatter lie
