    I wanted to try making these aesthetic bubble candles at home. I bought multiple molds, but I think the DIY bubble candle turned out the best! I read online that container wax is too soft for pillar candles but I still wanted to try it out. I ended up buying paraffin wax and used 2 parts paraffin and 1 part container wax. UPDATE: I Purchased some new molds for another candle making video. Stay tuned!

      @joolieshome  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thank you for watching :) hmm, I'm just a beginner at this, but I noticed pouring paraffin wax at a higher temperature decreased the frosting for me. I poured around 80C, I'm not sure what wax you're using but double check the recommended pour temperature. Hope this helps :)

      Thank you so much for watching! Sorry for the late response. If the candle has frosting, sometimes it's just the characteristic of the wax youre using, but make sure you're pouring at the right temperature which should be stated on the packaging :)

    Heyy dear! Im literally so glad ro find this video rn as like many other viewers i also had no idea that the candle wax is itself so soft so the rebuild candles would be breakable. Thanks for saving me from an unwanted disaster ❤. I wanted to ask that if im making candle in any other container bcz i want to be creative and create cooler shapes so how would i know the quantity of wax to be diluted along with the old candles. Please reply. It would be of great help. 👍🏻
    P.S I dont have any sort of weighing machine 😞

    • @joolieshome
      @joolieshome  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Thank you so much for watching ❤ Without any sort of weighing machine? hmm that sounds like a challenge. The best advice I can give you is to overestimate the amount of wax needed because you can remelt the leftover wax. Melt around 2 thirds of paraffin wax like I did and melt a third of any soft container wax you have. Fill your molds and if you have extra wax, save that for another project! Hope that helps!

    • @joolieshome
      @joolieshome  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you so much for watching! :) hmmm, i didn't get a chance to measure it in mL, but i found a conversion calculator online! I don't know how accurate it is, but it says 137g of wax is equivalent to 152mL. I hope that's right, let me know if it works out💗

    What were you rubbing the inside of the bubble mould with when preparing? mine just wont come out bubbly always flat!!

    • @joolieshome
      @joolieshome  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      oh no! I added a picture here 2:45- does the top look flat like the candle on the left? If so, you can have it rest inside a container like I did so the top of the candle doesn't touch the table.
      At 6:46 I'm just wiping off the water after washing the molds then I took some tape to remove any residual wax or dust.
      Hope this answers your question :)

    Great video and they turned out so well.. May I know what's the ideal pouring temperature if using pure soy wax? So that the bubble candle doesn't have crystals and cracks.. Also preheating the mould didn't work for me..

    • @joolieshome
      @joolieshome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! I haven't used pure soy wax before so I'm not too sure what the ideal pouring temp is. Did the packaging have directions? That's prob the best place to start or google :) I had some issues with bubbles so I poured my paraffin wax at a higher temp and slower, but it wasn't pure soy wax. Hope they work out!

    You shouldn't have to trim the metal part at the end of the wick. There is a reason it is there. If you're gonna use these candles only for decoration then you don't need it, but if you're gonna burn them you need that metal part, it's not safe not to have it. You should add the anotation or something so people don't make a mistake maybe...?
    Nice candles btw. Great job!

    • @joolieshome
      @joolieshome  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      The metal sticker base is for container candles to place inside a jar. I don't usually see that metal base on pillar candles, but if it's required then you can definitely keep it on :) Thanks for watching! 💗

    • @joolieshome
      @joolieshome  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! thank you so much for watching :) Container wax is soft and pillar wax is harder so it helps keep the shape of the mold. If your old candles are in containers like jars (container wax) then I'd buy some pillar wax to mix it together so it's harder. Just make sure you buy soy wax that is for pillar candles :)

    • @joolieshome
      @joolieshome  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi! to be honest, I haven't made candles without a thermometer so I'm not sure. If you're just melting candles at home like I did in this video, I think as long as the wax looks translucent you can try and pour it into your molds and demold the next day. If it doesn't work, just remelt it and try again? I recommend a thermometer if you're adding fragrances and dye chips to ensure the wax reaches a high enough temperature. Hope that helps!

    Hi!! What a perfect combination! Could you please tell me the formula so I know how many pillar wax and soy use? I didn’t understand how you calculated the quantities or did you use 80% pillar wax and 20% soy wax? I would appreciate your aswer!!!!

    • @joolieshome
      @joolieshome  2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Hi Monica! Thank you so much for watching my video 💗 Sorry for the confusion, I'll try to explain :) I used 2 parts pillar wax (around 66%) and 1 part soy (around 33%). I made one of each candle so I needed around 433g of total wax. 33% of soy wax would be around 143g and the rest would be pillar wax (around 290g). Hope this helps! I think 80/20 would work as well!

      @@monicaaguirre2897 oh noo!! I did a quick google search cause I'm def not an expert at this, but it says to double check you're pouring at the right temperature based on the directions of the wax and pour slowly. I also read to heat the container but we're using molds so I'm not sure how you'd heat up a silicone mold. I don't want to give you wrong directions :(
