This actually hits hard af. If only mother Miranda was a lil less obsessed she could have been a badass, well-written villain and this theme is epic af just like her final boss theme from the main game.
Miranda is trying to kill Ethan because he interrupted the ritual in the first place, but when she know that Rose is on Ethan’s side, she start killing Rose because she’s no longer her daughter
No mother miranda was trying to take rose by force. Killing rose would make her mission a failure. A dead vessel is a useless vessel. Plus rose isn't Miranda's daughter, she wants to use rose to revive her real daughter Eva who died from the Spanish flu a century ago. Yes miranda is over 120 years old but it's the megamycete that gave her a longer lasting lifespan. After touching this thing she found in the cave where she plans to kill her self due to grief since her daughters death, she sensed her daughters subconscious living inside it. There's more lore to this which is too much for me to explain. Miranda is no umbrella researcher but she is the one who inspired the one and only Ozwell. E. Spencer. Almost 45 years before the first outbreak in the arklay mountains.
