Great - I'll have to visit! Couldn't help but notice how much more comfortable those well padded moquette seats looked compared to modern buses.

Sorry for the delay ....yes...there's a 1968 double decker in the museum with absolutely sumptuous seating just as you described.....todays idiots just seem bent on destroying anything nice like slashing seats and swinging from handrails.....a sad society nowadays.....thanks for your comment.

Hi Mathew, firstly thank you for watching my video's, I can tell from your reply that you have the same passion for preservation of these old busses that helped generations of people to get about, I love to see the actual construction methods used at that time, unfortunately I am not involved with the Museum so I suggest an email or letter to the managing Director of the Greater Manchester Transport Society Bus Museum, Boyle Street Greater Manchester may serve your purpose better....In the meantime, I will be compiling a video of the reconstruction of Bus Number 436 a Crossley from the 1930's. Many thanks and My very best wishes....Alan.

These busses deserve more that being just sat idle in a museum.. they were all built to last like all old mech tech, you just don't see stuff like this anymore and should be in public to show they still run regardless, not just sat in some warehouse on show not running at all.
Love the content nonetheless my friend!

Hi Guy's my name is Mr C. T. Boxill-Harris I was wondering, why coudn't you find a nice fresh shiny Leyland Titan B15's and Repaint them to a Grey Green Color's just like the original Scania Grey Green's which were in the East London bus route's such as 125, 313 and also the bus route 103, if you guy would like to find about 11 Leyland Titan B15's, please could you Repaint them in the Exact Grey Green Bus Color's for us because it would be a Very Very Very Very Interesting Buses to see them Repainted to a Grey Green Color's and I'am a Big Fan of all of the Leyland Titan B15's

@@mixwizard2310 Hi Alan, as a man who worked for London Transport, I would say bus restoration and painting is becoming more prohibitive because of time/costs, and lengthy preparation. Factors such as secure storage must also be taken into consideration.
As you people in Manchester may know, many experienced old hands are retired, very elderly or have passed away.
For myself I did work on Titan buses years ago, and we experienced many problems with them in service.
I do wish Mr Boxill-Harris, all the best with his suggestions. However in the end any project like that would cost a great deal of money. I personally believe that it couldn't be justifiable. Just too expensive.
Kind regards to one and all who view your films. 👍Jonnie.

It would help them to appreciate their cities and towns l would like it very much
If your bus museum management would talk to
The kingston upon Hull city council about purchasing the old vintage bus which is in our
    Local museum of transport
Here in Hull it's an old

AEC bus which has been damaged more then once
And l have told the museum staff but they say it's only a bus
From the past it doesn't matter
What they do to this wonderful
    Piece of historical importance
This vehicle has too hammer dents in the rear of the bus but
Chorley it won't take much to panel beat the dents out and get the insurance reinstated
And get the road tax reinstated
And get it back on the road and
Take it too vintage road shows
Or even hire it out for wedding transport -ladies days at the races it's in our transport museum here in Hull in high street l would love to see your museum purchase this romantic bus and take great care of it as Hull city council
    Have admitted dammaging it
I truly would love to come and volunteer at your museum in Manchester as l have a strong love for the transport of the past and why shunt l transport of the past matters let's do more to rescue buses and coaches and restore them back
To their former glory let's get more volunteers and let's get a big bus or lorry garage where we could work on these lovely buses and coaches in Kingston upon Hull special needs people can still do volunteer work more then the migrants

Hi Mathew, absolutely true, the cost of materials alone is staggeringly high in these troubled times we now live in, high costs need to be met and that's where the organisers come in, sponsorship, grants, bequests exhibitions, shows and entrance fees all have a part to play in keeping it alive, to be honest I just don't know how this museum survives but it does and it's quite positive in it's thinking....onwards and upwards. Many thanks for your valuable comments...Regards, Alan.
