I have made several hooded towels as baby gifts through the years. Each time I go to my machine I pull up your video to refresh myself with your instructions. I love to look of the professional the end results. Thank you for sharing your gifts and talents with us!

This is by far the very best technique that I've seen for a hooded towel! Love it! One thing that I changed is that, when attaching the hood to the towel, I started at the center and sewed toward the outside of the hood and then turned it around and did the other side. I did that so that it wouldn't bunch up in the center as you sew toward the center. It was a little awkward because I had to have the length of the towel to the right while sewing the reverse from the center. Just had to deal with the bulkiness.
Thank you so much for the tutorial, Juju! Your designs are the best!

This is one of the best tutorials I have seen with a nice finish, with hidden Seams I mean. I am no seamstress but for the towel edges not really matching when you do the self lining thing (which I find great) I would suggest drawing the line like at 8.25 and not really in the center: linings tend to show more because they have less room to fit in, like when you do pouches for the lining you should use a larger seam allowance to better accommodate the lining fabric, if the outside part is just a little bigger than the lining part, I feel when you match the bottom edges they would like up better. My preference is to add a little bias tape, I find it a nice decorative touch and this way you cannot see if everything matches really well. (Also where I live towels are 22’’ so I think I might try using some terry cloth and making a towel from scratch, which would have no finished edges)
Thanks for sharing, I will use this method for my next towel ☺️

You know what I've been doing? I load the design into my software and print a copy of the design with crosshairs. Then I tape it to the exact spot I want to stitch it on the hooped project. I use the "move" feature to move the hoop exactly where I want it based on the taped design. Then I pull off the taped design and stitch. Not sure if that made sense but it works great for me!

I have been making hooded towels for at least 10 years now and make my own embroidery on them as I don't own an embroidery machine, but I really like how you make the towels with now seams showing or the embroidery showing. I have one I am making for my Granddaughters birthday and am so excited to make it the way you do. Thanks so much for showing us how to do this! I live in Canada and we don't have Target stores here anymore which I am so sad for, since they did have the best colour and thickness for making the hooded towels. Joan

Thank you for this video. I like the covered stablizer and seams. What I learned for next time: my animal face was 6" high x 9" wide. When I turned the hood right side out I lost the cat's ears. Makes her look like shes got her ears back and is mad! #2 is that Costco towels are really thick and with the multiple layers of towel, most machines probably wont be able to sew through them.
      Thanks again.
