I love this series, you should really collab with some redstoners to learn about all the weird mechanics or just general tips on improving your redstone. In particular the ancient secret of instant repeaters with no delay would be very helpful to get the timing right.
Levi, you can use the world edit plugin/mod to easily clear out areas or to build walls instantly. Also you could make a new world on the superflat option to get a flat world.
yeah. i cant even get a solid grasp on music production but this guy has such a solid idea of how it works that he can do it in freaking minecraft. and not even in the traditional "make all the music in a line and have a minecart so the player keeps up with the sound" way of doing things.
When making piano rolls you can put a line of repeaters with observers on top. That will make you able to make the piano half as big as it currently is and everything would work the same exept for the lamps. Love the series by the way!
Hey Levi! Love to see the new direction you're taking this, but I'd also love to see you get back to some non-minecraft music making. I used to love the "will it mashup" series and would love to see it return if possible!
The Observer: On the side that looks like a face that side will detect any update like a note block playing or a dispenser dispensing... Then when it detects something, on the other side that looks like a red dot thing... it will send a red stone output, “ Activate red stone” Hopefully this will help! Your doing so good keep up the good work!
The strangeness is due to the inconsistent input signal because you used a lever and turned it on and the off quickly. You'll want to look up monostable circuits and pulse lengtheners to get consistent input signal and not use a lever to start the machine.
I love how your community is one that loves practically anything you want to do (given, your videos are always great). Thank you for making my day every once in a while, please keep doing what you do best 😊
This series is such a refreshing take on minecraft noteblock music, making all these neat contraptions and watching you have fun, trying to figure things out, and steadily improving your redstone skills. Traditional noteblock music is based on recreating so you can't really "compose," but all your ideas are so far removed from that, no doubt in part from your inexperience and no beforehand knowledge. Keep -rocking- blocking on dude!
"I feel like each day i keep playing minecraft my IQ keeps increasing" Since watching the videos my redstone understanding has gone through the roof! Keep up the great work Levi!
I think what's wonderful is that you can manually figure out a melody and beat on your big machine, but then fine tune it and make it more compact with this INCREDIBLY SMART method. I've been playing Minecraft for almost 9 years and I have to look up a tutorial on making a piston door, while you're over here blowing up the redstone community in 5 videos.
Levi, you can either create a "superflat" world using the world customizer before you generate a new world to make completely flat terrain. or you can use the /fill command inside Minecraft to fill mountains/trees with air, therefore removing them. Or you can download a plugin called "world edit" which makes removing/placing/replacing blocks super easy. this could make it a lot easier for you to build your music creations without having to worry about removing things by hand!
You can use a minecart and a powered rail to move you along so you can build long noteblock songs and move across it so its the same volume all across if you do it right.
Loving the videos :D as a tip, check out the /fill command in minecraft. With the command you can easily flatten terrains, remove then etc. There is even a command where you can copy your build. However, there is also a simple tool called world edit (you need to download this) where you can do this stuff easier ;-) also idk of you know yet, but can set with /gamerule (press tab to see options) different things like preventing mobs to spawn.
Holy shit these videos are so entertaining, I am learning about music and Minecraft my two favorite things. Keep these coming because I love these vids
Challenge: You can import samples into minecraft, but the samples must be made out of the original minecraft note block samples, much like when you used the roblox "oof" sound to make an entire song, but instead of the "oof" you use the various minecraft note block samples. (For example, maybe get the glass wood block sound, pitch it up a bit, EQ off the low end and add some distortion to make a better hi-hat). Please like so Levi can see this, I think it will give the music he makes a more "minecraft-y" sound, rather than it just sounding like Fl studio or Ableton.
Just so you know, you can use Observers like an elevator for a redstone current. That can be placed up or down to make the current move up or down. That would've made your first music machines much more compact
