What worked for me since my day 1 on computers are the following steps (no apps or special software needed): 1. Go to your photos' folder. 2. Left-click/select the last photo. 3. While holding shift, left-click/select the first photo. 4. With all photos selected, right-click on any of them. 5. Select rename. 6. Enter the new name for all photos with the correct dates and/or times factored in. 7. Enter. VOILA!
In which program do you do that? Windows Explorer, will only let you change the name of the file that you right-clicked on, nothing else. (NB: you can just type Ctrl-A to select all)
I am looking for 'Photo Date Changer for Windows', would pls provide the link to a download site? I can't find one with that exact name, .. many with similar names but would like to stick with your recommendations. Great videos !
If you use The Photo date changer for Windows and change the JPEG EXIF timestamp that is changing the original taken time. EXIF is a fancy way of talking about the original taken date. 😁
I encountered the same problem and I haven't figured it out (using the free fix). I did notice that when I removed the album from Picasa, then added it again, the program "sensed" a different date and slotted it back into the deck in the correct area.
@@DaveDallas-sp3se yes I don't know why that happens, I see that a lot with Apple Photos load that people do as well. However in that case it tends to permanently lose the right date and keep the load date 😢
Hello Amanda and thank you for this concise and very clear video. Your presentation style is very friendly, as well as precise and professional. Well done! My question is: Will either or both of these utilities work the same on RAW image files? I noticed that your screenshots only specified JPEG files. I just returned from 3 1/2 weeks in Europe with about 1,000 RAW images on my Sony DSLR camera. Sadly, I forgot to change the time zone, so all times were off by 7 hours for about a week. That I could live with. However, once I discovered the error, I entered the Sony menu to change the date/time and, in an act of blinding stupidity, entered 2023 for the year, instead of 2024. Ugh! I MUST fix the errant dates on hundreds of files, before importing the images into Lightroom. Otherwise the Catalog, sorting and search capabilities will be hopelessly bungled. Please advise. Thank you! ~Greg Bullen, Dallas, Texas, USA
I'm trying to change the time taken on an edited photo to make it show up in chronogical order on my Android phone Gallery. I downloaded Bulk Rename Utility and tried it. I have been able to change the Created, Modified, and Accessed times, but I haven't yet been able to change the DateTaken Original time. The Change Timestamp box seems to be set up for created, modified, accessed, but not for Date Taken. Do you have a more complete video showing how to do this?
Ah yes the fun of dates they never do what you want... you have 2 options the paid-for option in this video, Photo date changer for Windows, would work, but another free option is Adobe Bridge, it is a bit mind-blowing when you login, but check out my intro video here... th-cam.com/video/ES73_YS-SpA/w-d-xo.html 😁
@@amandalittlecott Hello Amanda! I'm having exactly same issue as Barbara, 200 pics from birthday and I need to put in a order. The file name is in order but data is messed up. With Adobe bridge I can bulk change it? but I would need first photo to be 10:00:00am next 10:00:01am, 10:00:02am etc.. is it possible to do this in Adobe Bridge?
PIE picture information extractor EXIF IPTC from PICMENTA SYSTEMS is one payment and you will have all the up dates the only thing you cant change here is the TIME ZONE but you can change DATE TAKEN easily ( - HOURS or + HOURS ) or dates in a bulk very friendly user
Hey Amanda, I have a little issue transporting my pictures from Android to Iphone, as ones arrived on the new phone the date changes to the date of the transfer. I tried transporting them manually instead of via the transferapp but i got the same issue. I had a look into the dates of the pictures and it seems like to fix it i would have to change the "created date" to the "last changeg/modified" date because that ones is actually correct. Do you know an app that i could use, to do that on an entire folder without paying any money? Thank you a lot in advance :)
That is really annoying, I don't know a free option but if you have Mac check out A Better Finder Attributes (th-cam.com/video/QkW1ozwuVxU/w-d-xo.html) which is a little bit of money, but soooo worth it 😁

Oh no, is that from this programme or some other annoying photo date changing event? If it is a random computer thing, double check that the original dates aren't hidden in the data in the background. 🤞

didn't understand. if I rename one with new name and date. It will add date that to all of the images.

Can I change photo file's date to match EXIF metadata dates with Bulk Rename Utility?
If yes, how can I do that?

This won’t work to change the DATE TAKEN field. What gives?
Which option are you trying out?
Actually pisses me off too, cause now all my photos are randomized because 7 years worth of pictures were all taken on April 1st😐

This app only changes time but not TIME ZONE if you are traveling a lot and forgot to change the time zone in your camera it wont help
Isn't it a shame that Windows and maybe the Apple systems are essentially defective , thus necessitating the utilities you describe?
