Tip: when I don't have a lash curler, I put on a good coat of mascara, and use a spoolie to bend/curl and hold my lashes up and hold for just like 20 30 seconds( to allow them to dry-set)....then a second coat repeat process. I believe I like that trick better than a lash curler. Have a great day!

We went to Alaska on the Bliss in July 2018 and I sat on our balcony and did my makeup too!! And I totally understand the feeling of not being able to absorb enough of the beauty! I told my friends that I’m pretty confident that Alaska is where we got “neon green”! So pure. So beautiful!!

I went on an Alaskan cruise a couple of summers ago and it is probably my favorite trip in the US! (Plus a bit of Canada) it’s so sad to actually see how much of the glaciers receded in recent years. I don’t remember the name of the glacier, but it’s the biggest tourist attraction one. It used to be right up against the visitor center, but now we need to walk over a mile to get to a place we can see it (and the glacier itself is much further back)

I just got back from Alaska yesterday. I also lived there for several years. You are so right about the polar sun. It is not to be messed with, and the potency is magnified when there is snow on the ground.

Loved this video! Would love more “get ready with me while traveling” videos because it is really helpful to see what people actually choose to travel with and what looks they do while on vacation. I love doing my makeup on vacation because I feel like I find looks that I really enjoy and have fun with.
I love the Nars concealer too. When my husband and I flew to St Lucia for our honeymoon, we spent basically the whole day in airports. I just spot concealed around my face with it instead of foundation, and it held up beautifully for 18 hours, even being in and out of several airports/planes. Foundation would’ve looked like trash after that kind of a day. Love it!

My husband’s cousin lived in Anchorage for years and we visited several times to fish. Nothing better than fresh salmon right out the Kenai River. Simply awesome!

I loved the Alaskan cruise I went on! It was about 10 years ago, but it’s still my favorite vacation I’ve ever been on. We rode a helicopter onto a glacier, dog sledding, and whale watching. (My stepdad and sister did the zip line while my mom and I did whale watching)

I always pack 2 foundations when traveling. When space is tight, I'll pack the full size of the one I think I'll use the most, then put a second one in a little artist's paint container. I get them at Hobby Lobby, a little container with a seperate lid, they sell them in a pack of 6 to 8. They're about the size of a film canister, hold probably about 6 times more than the little sample pots at Sephora. Doesn't take too much room but is there just in case. I've tanned up on vacation, or the full size I brought isn't performing like it should due to climate, etc. and my backup pot has saved me a few times.
I love makeup in natural light. It looks real! All other youtubers make it too perfect

Bring a good windbreaker raincoat, comfy shoes like tennies and flip flops generally are enough. Good polarized sunglasses as we are already into almost non stop light... it has been stormy but warm... well warm to us haha

I live in Valdez, Alaska...and you are so right about the sun. Ppl think because it’s cold they won’t get sunburnt but the sun is out longer and you will get burnt quick!

I have been physically disabled since 2014, this would be quite complicated at this point but hopeful someday my husband and I can actually have fun away from home again. I know the hike and bike ride wouldn’t be possible for me but they sound absolutely amazing.

OMG, I went to Alaska last year and I am going again this June. We didn't do a cruise, we took a flight to Anchorage and ended up all the way down in Homer. 10 awesome days in Alaska, hiking, exploring, rafting, glacier tour. I love that you're doing this video while traveling.

My Hubby used to be Airborne for Army there in Fort. Richardson. I miss Anchorage. At the time we were newlyweds at 19yrs old with a new baby boy. I always want to go back and visit. Mt. McKinley and Northern Lights I’ve seen with my own eyes. What a blessing for you to see nature’s beauty.

For the sunscreen, if you’re going to be in the sun for that long you’re going to need either a really high SPF or to reapply frequently. SPF 30 means it protects for 30 minutes of sun exposure
We love the Alaskan cruise! We went for our 25th anniversary, and again for our 40th last year. Norwegian is the best!

I happen to be visiting family and friends in Alaska as I’m watching this! I grew up near Anchorage and live elsewhere now but still love coming to visit once or twice a year. I haven’t been on a cruise in the southeast but I really want to someday, especially after hearing about everything you got to do.
My brother lived in ketchikan as a marine mechanic for a couple years, it’s beautiful there!

Did the Alaskan cruise for our honeymoon! Was amazing:) left us in Alaska and we bought a 1977 motorhome and drove it all the way home back to Ontario Canada. ♥️ enjoy!! Soak it all in!

I am such a believer in that Mischa BB cream, it’s all I use daily now and apply with my fingers - it’s got SPF and it’s not full coverage but looks so nice in person, in photos, and I just love it so much on your recommendation!

In 2008, 40 of my relatives went on an Alaskan cruise (Inside Passage). The highlight of the trip for me was seeing about a dozen whales swimming next to the ship and eagles flying overhead in Juneau. It was incredible and I would love to go back.

Jess I commented this on your CYO video but GET SHADE 104 IN THE CYO FOUNDATION!! Trust me. Its not dark!! Its not gray at all, very neutral. Were always the same shade and 104 is my perfect match.
