Have you come to realize that the Healthcare system in Nova Scotia is in crisis ? Your cough sounded bad - the comment below sums up the concerns about mould in old houses in rural NS. We enjoy your videos. Take care.

Haven't had to use the health system in NS yet. I know it is just a matter of time though! I don't think I have coughed since posting this vlog.... but I hadn't thought about the mould being the cause!
Glad you are enjoying the vlogs... and thanks for opening my eyes to the possible effects of mould. I have no idea why I didn't think of that!

keep an eye on thay cough hun make sure there isnt any more mould about as we had a mould problem in a house we bought and it caused me and my family alot of health issues ranging from headaches, fatigue, brain fog, rashes, chronic cough just to name a few symptoms.

please tell me your not gonna tear out the logs and put regular walls up that would be awfullllll

      Well.....
We don't want a regular wall but if we replaced the logs they would never match on the inside to the rest of the house. The logs are about 100 years old, they have been stained and weathered. We are going to try and salvage 1/2 of each log for the inside. For the outside we are doing a regular wall.... we may mill logs and make log siding.... however that needs lots of maintenance. That side of the house takes a beating and that is why it is rotting faster than the rest of the house. We are also considering siding the entire outside to better maintain the logs for the inside. I don't know if anyone of what I said makes sense. This is something we have been battling in our heads for a while now!

@@foundbutstilllost thanks for the long explanation most youtubers would just say its none of her business what we do to our house. and yes i understood everything you said, but take a year or two and enjoy the house its not gonna get any worse in that time believe me nobody wants to watch you take that log house apart, here is a funny story when i was 10 my family moved into a log house after 10 years a guy says you have termites they have really ate the logs i suggest you tear it down before it falls down my mom said then we will go dowm with it cause she lovd that log house now years latter im 70 my mom and dad are gone but that log house is still standing. you dont have to answer me again and i will not make anymore remarks about what you do to your house. thanks for being nice to me

I don’t mind your remarks at all!!!
The one wall, we really have no choice. It’s like cardboard when it gets wet and we can almost put our hand right through it. So we are replacing that wall in a few weeks. I’ll show you how it turns out. As for the rest of the house you are probably right!
