I would say that's about what my car is making. fresh rebuild with a street port, stock air box (cuz like you said it is the best for the N/A reni. I just have a full exhaust from the engine back and oiling mods. The car has been running amazing with not one issue. I did everything myself. Next project is boosting it with a Greddy kit that I have in my basement lol. Good vid BTW!
Is yours the R3 as well? i’m wondering if i can do this to my 04 rx8

The sound for me has got to be everything, as Nicky says, but would be wanting higher revving,
I know you say the street port has more drivability,
But I’v had my R3 3weeks, it’s a weekend car, track car, a make me smile car,
I’v seen a street port, where they have Mapped the Bapps in,
But, which ever way, the Brapps have to be there🤪
I think I need to call in and have a chat about options 👍👍
Well this has really swayed my opinion on getting a full bridge in June :O might just do a street port instead

Starting to doubt whether I should bring my Bridgeport to you now because you will hate it 😂 I agree with most of what you say but braps are life for me, I couldn’t have a normal idling rotary now, the noise is addictive... and I’ll happily sacrifice a bit of drivability and fuel consumption for it. Maybe I’m a little mad, but that’s how I feel

The issue with knock on rotaries is that at the slightest knock, your 2 piece apex seals will just break into pieces.
It's good to see a video with someone talking sense with engine tuning.
The old story, BHP sells engines, but Torque wins races...
All Mazda PCM aka ECU since RX-8 requires tune, then drive multiple cycles, scan, retune, repeat, in order to get it right.
ECU takes tune maps as suggestions and retune itself for each car's condition to work with worn spark plugs, dirty MAF sensor, etc.
Do NOT Dyno tune and call it a day in one step.
How come this car made so much more power than Felix? Is there that much variance when these engines are rebuilt? Cool video and car btw

How much hp on the crank?
What ecu software for tuning?
That would run high 12’s in say,an Rx3 that’s much lighter.
Is it safe to rev it so much, so soon after the engine just rebuilt? No need to put first some extra miles?
Yes all safe. Only when it comes to using second hand parts and seals you want to bed the engine in with different loads and around 500-700 miles 😁
So you guys run catless RX8 on a dyno revving the piss of it in an enclosed room? Noticed the chatty dude was tearing up standing behind the exhaust. I wonder how many years you just knocked off on that session. 😬

There are tow large vacuum inlet hoses behind the tail pipes pal, are you blind?
What’s the ecu you’re tuning on? i’m having a tough time finding any ecu, is the rx8 tuneable through the oem ecu?
Standard ECU - Yes, you can tune on standard ECU.
incredible, getting my engine street ported by a CNC machine (programmed to port template) & i was looking to tune afterwords. would my series 1, 2005 Rx8 have that same tuneable ecu as your series 2?
A full bridge is not giving too mucho power...I think is around 220whp in a fullbridge
no fuel injection mod?
Supercharger should change that

Habbo's sold his previous race extension engine (which is working perfectly fine) in order to have a freshly build street ported one :)

So basically street is way better than Bridgeport.
I managed 10 less WHP on your dyno with a full bridge (built elsewhere). Big regret
I call cap - the dyno screen where the car is running clearly shows 194whp
The raw data you are seeing on the screen doesn't factor in any external external variables like ambient temperature or barometric pressure - it's raw data 👍
In other words, don’t buy an Rx8 to mod it. Just enjoy it stock. Thosands for 5 whp Jesus
Not necessarily true... These days Stock R3's are making around 180whp on the dyno, This particular one has made 218whp with our street port build.
All of that crap and only 5hp increase 🤣
218hp all they can do in the uk 😂
