I'm a CNA making $15 an hour. I love the demand of being a CNA, how there's so much money, unlimited overtime and agency options in bigger cities. But for now, I am in rural Kansas. I'm thinking about doing my Pharmacy Tech and then my Medication Aide program and then moving to Chicago and bouncing around agency as a CNA when needed & working as a Pharm Tech full time.
i think that sounds like a great idea! pharmacy techs are getting payed pretty well these days, at my hospital the highest pay as of 2023 for a tech is $45 an hour. with some people making more than that but not many! i think it’s great position and a lot of opportunity to move up
Hi Keana, what you said is so pretty much true I went from cvs to a hospital it’s a difference for sure I’ve been happier here than in retail especially since Pyxis is much easier
hospital better pay, better benefits, less stress but i do sometimes miss the days of filling medications as fast and quickly as i can and getting them out to patients! but retail is way more stressful, less pay, and they expect more without giving more
@@KeanaConyers Wow that make sense with less stress, better benefits, better pay. I’m kinda nervous because I just had interview with the pharmacy manager at Orlando Health last Friday that I applied for pharmacy tech medication history collection position. I never done that before but I wanna grow in my role as 8 years pharmacy tech now and learn new skills. You can tell me more details that I can’t find online. The manager told me it would be either that or IV room duties when I get hired depend on how I feel according to him. You can explain IV room details as well. It looks the manager wants to schedule me for second interview coming in two weeks. Hopefully I get hired. I hope you can help me with that information or advices about that type of job. Pretty interesting.
Do you any tips for someone who don't have any experience? I will be starting as a pharmacy Tech in 10 days and I have no clue what I should be expect or what to prepare.
good information. we are so short staffed, they are passing out phamphlets with the orders, lol
I believe the dispensing machines are called Cells, they're pretty cool.
Very Useful! please do more videos 😊
