I grew up with St. Elsewhere and recently watched the whole series again. It inspired me to go into the healthcare field and have been there for 30 years now. Love all of the cast and directors!!

As a real doc, this show at least the first few episodes that I’ve seen, ring incredibly true and cathartic for me. Incredibly beautiful and painful, just like medicine really is. It amazes me how under appreciated this series was or is. Thanks to all the people who worked so hard to create this contribution to the story of medicine.

Loved this show. One had to really pay attention as there were story arcs that sometimes were referenced in later seasons. And other actors who were on the series - Tim Robbins, Alfre Woodard, Helen Hunt, Doris Roberts, James Coco, Ronnie Cox, France Nuyen...

Why has Grey's Anatomy gotten so many more seasons when it's nowhere nearly as good as St. Elsewhere?

That's because Grey's Anatomy is too boring!

Having watched St Elsewhere in the ‘80s I feel a real connection to so many in the cast.
This could have been a multiple hour interview and I’d watch. Such great actors. ❤

Christina Pickles, Bonnie Bartlett and William Daniels all still look fabulous, for being 87, 93 and 95, respectively, and according to IMDB, they're all still acting. And, damn, Bruce Greenwood is still cute. ;)

Hey, "Pete!" So, St. Elsewhere has been and continues to be my favorite show ever, and I've just introduced my wife to it, who is now HOOKED. I'm sorry if you're being left out of these reunions, however, I can tell you -- we just finished Season 2, and *every* minute that either you or your brother are onscreen with David Morse, she starts raving -- "OMG, that little Pete is the CUTEST baby I've ever seen!!" :)

You guys were the cutest babies- and could act to some degree as toddlers which is remarkable. You both seemed to have relatively calm dispositions too. I enjoyed seeing you in this series. I did wonder how baby Pete was doing now ( I just watched the show for the first time this year 2024). It would be cool to hear any memories you have from your experiences on the show.
Glad to hear from you and that you and your brother are well!

St. Elsewhere was before my time, but I’ve started watching it and it’s truly fantastic and compelling television. Such a magnificent cast all-around, too.

I love that Howie is wearing his season 6 hospital garb, complete with his St. Eligius: A Weigert Hospital ID badge! What a treat to see these amazing actors together. And St. Elsewhere has always been one of my all-time favorite shows. Excellent!

Hulu does NOT have all of the episodes streaming. There are numerous episodes missing. I discovered this while I was watching, or trying to watch, the series for the first time (2024) and finally realized I couldn't follow what was happening because they have many missing episodes. I would guess it is due to copyright issues/royalties for songs used in these episodes. It's annoying to have episodes missing while you are trying to watch the series.
In addition, whoever owns the show now, please have the video remastered to correct the picture and audio. It is dark in many places and of poor quality. It looks like somebody just slapped an old VHS copy of the show onto Hulu and called it a day.

Why was the interviewer talking to them about specific episodes like they all watch them every day? Who the heck remembers specific work details from 5 years ago - let alone 40?

27:42 Incidently the actor in The Graduate who says "Plastics," is Walter Brooke who is probably best known as D.A. Scanlon in The Green Hornet series.
However, the character of Dr. Craig does reference The Graduate in the episode The Idiot and the Odyssey in the scene outside the church where Ehrlich is going to marry Lucy.

I watched every single episode of St. Elsewhere in the 1980s. I recently started watching the entire series yet again. It is my favorite television show of all time-- engaging, compelling, informative, perceptive and, yes, very funny. THANK YOU to all of the cast members, producers, directors and other members of the St. Elsewhere ensemble.

Well a St. Elsewhere reunion film would be great! Seeing the surviving doctor characters at the hospital forty years later would be wonderful! But if you watch the very last episode there's just one problem with doing a reunion film.....

Outstanding series. Just finish reviewing the entire series. Excellent writing, the acting was superb, the topics were way ahead of their time. The realism, and guest appearance of so many wonderful actors, and the launch of others. Thanks to entire cast, writers and producers of St. Elsewhere.

Terence Knox came back two more times on the show after the episode with his death scene: in one episode Jack came across the ghost of Peter White in the morgue, and in another episode Peter White was down in Hell in the afterlife.

Loved St Elsewhere, it was a big thing in the 80's and early 90's in the UK Where i'm from.
It was Denzil Washington's "Big Break". There was so many immense actors on the show.
And it had one of the best theme tunes and intro's ever for a TV Show. Hope the surviving cast stay well and Blessed, From Liverpool UK.
