Exactly my problem too, Temp gauge all over the shop, jumping between norm temp and off chart hot with every ignition turn or during driving, same with fuel gauge. Followed your instructions, especially pressing the front face back in which bulged with me too, installed it, BOOM works like new. Champion! Thank you very much!

Great explanation and I did exactly as you demonstrated and it worked!! Of course I have already replaced the thermo, and it was not there, and a kink in the hose from a reroute of the heater hose bypassing the heater needed to be corrected, new fluids and and flush. No more fluctuation temp sensor. This help us a ton since we live in Costa Rica. I think my new mechanic is me and help from people like you. thank you so very much!

Excellent, thank you. I had read of the r10 resister being the fault, and resoldering the cure, in a forum online. Been riding around forever with temp over the top thinking it was a specialist job. Out and in in 15 minutes. Great video.

Great video! I watched it several times. I don't have much experience with SMD. So, I managed to move R15 too! Such an easy fix. If anyone else has this problem, don't be intimidated. Find a way to practice and get comfortable with a hot iron; then, give it a try!

This really helped me to resolve my speedo meter issue after bulbs were replaced... Pushing the cluster backwards dosen't capture in most videos. Thanks you Mr. Pajero

I'm with all the other commenters, this video was awesome and finally helped me solve my speedometer needle sticking, something that has been bothering me for months!

Mate, your video was recommended to me as my fuel face and engine temp light was reading all over the place. I followed your video and it worked a treat. Based on your advice I brought a fine point soldering iron for $26. I also brought and a bench magnifying glass for $34 (just because those resistors are so tiny). Both purchased from Jaycar. I gave it a go and it worked. I reckon you saved me a fair few dollars so many thanks. Cheers

Quick question. What is the small black button on the board (opposite side of the R10/R12)

  • @yagmurev1

It worked! Temp gauge is working right again. Thank you 🙏.
However I probably did something wrong with the r12 circuit as now the speedometer is not working nor the distance to empty at the center dash showing just ----.
    Any recommendations?

Very useful and easy to follow. After I watched your video, I did the same procedure and it worked amazingly (thanks a lot)... However, after a couple of weeks, the cluster looks dead, no signal for temperature, RPM, Fuel gauge and MPH, those suddenly stopped working. Do you have an idea what the problem could be this time? Thanks for your time

Does anybody know what resister is the rpm? Or can anyone point my to where the wiring diagram might be that shows and labels what the resisters do on this PCB board for the cluster? Cheers in advance.

    Hi there
Fixed my temp gauge however even after installing odometer not displaying properly. I pushed on speedo against the board to make sure there is contact. Tried 3 times without getting numbers to display properly on odometer. Do you have any other recommendations.

I soldered r12 which fixed the fuel gauge.
Then the back had to be pushed as my needle was touching and the speedo was stuck.
After that the speedo would not read over 80km/h also if i drive at 20km/h it shows me 60.. any idea why?
    Gearbox changes fine etc..

Hi mate, great work. Quick question. The bottom right light is out on my 4x4 superselect in the cluster. Are these individual bulbs I could possibly replace or could this be an actual fault with the 4x4 system. Cheers mate

    • @olamabambi4193
      @olamabambi4193 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi its just a miniature flat blade globe you twist out then pull the globe out of plastic holder and replace with new globe. Really easy to do. Theres no fault its just a blown globe. If theres a fault the lights on super select flash on and off.

I'm having "some" trouble with my fuel gauge, in that it displays very oddly (stays too high usually, then suddenly it's on reserve and the light's on).. could it be that particular resistor?
edit: currently, i'm measuring the kilometers I've driven and fill it every 600-800 kms (depending on the work/load that was done), so I'm good and secure, was just wondering..

are their any risks of over soldering as this will be my first time and also do we need to solder all the r10 and r12 ...Mine is USA spec 2.8 3rd generation with faulty fuel gauge only , the temp gauge is fine
