Love that fact that you have you're son helping and learning practical life skills at the same time. Beats sitting on the PlayStation all day. Well done Dad and Son. Great video too 👍🏽 👏🏽 👌🏽
I'm planning on making loft beds for my boys and am going to try to incorporate heavy duty drawer rails so I can slide the mattresses out for easy sheet changes.
I love the simple straightforward directions, without unnecessarily complicating it with plans. I will be using your video to build my 15 year olds loft bed with his help... thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. I also love the fact that you involve your kids in the projects... good job Dad!!! I will let you know how it goes 😁
I’ve been trying to design a double loft bed for my girls with absolutely NO experience building anything ever lol. I had written down the design on graph paper before I’d seen this video 😂 but since we rent I’m not going to secure it in the wall studs instead I’m using 4x4’s for support. The only thing that keeps messing me up is accounting for the room the 4x4’s take up inside the bed and making sure the mattresses still fit. But this was very very helpful, especially leaning about pocket screws that I’ll definitely be figuring out.
Good thing about working with your son . . . he can fit into places you can't, and he's closer to the ground to pick up stuff you drop. From the looks of things, that may not be the case much longer. Well done Dad. And Son, too.
Great video! I'm planning to build something similar for my daughter and really like the idea of using pocket holes. However, since I've never used them before, I'm curious about how to correctly determine the pilot hole depth and angle for 2x4s.
Pocket holes are great. What’s awesome about the pocket hole jig is it auto adjusts depending on the material thickness. The kreg and armor tool systems are great, but this one is my favorite for 2x4s: amzn.to/3vf2XF7
@@SixEightWoodworks thanks for the reply! The thing I don't understand is when your fastening the 2x10 through the pocket hole into the 2x4, are you drilling pilot holes into the 2x4 before connecting them? If so, how do you make those holes? Sorry, it may be something obvious and I'm just missing it.
Awesome project. I love how detailed you get. Could you please please do a video on your drum sander? I just bought the 19/38 from laguna and me being a rookie I'm not very informed on it. I get most if it yeah but laguna customer service is not great at all. I've got it set up and running but I'm getting bad snipe on the Indeed side only. When I run it thru the part that comes out first has bad snipe on it. Please help
nice design, thinking of similiar for my daughter so some great ideas there, particularly like the steps. Just one thing I noticed, Hate being that guy but I'd advise you to rewatch your video, in particular at 16:45 and slow the speed down to .25. You came very very close to trimming your nail on the table saw. The slightest bind in the piece and you would have been a finger down. Second cut was the same method, not quite as close but still far too close. If you're cutting thin stock like that set up a feather board to keep it tight. Takes a bit more time but better than losing a finger. Apart from that, great vid 👍
We just made a loft bed based on your video! Would love to share a photo somehow! Curious where you got your pipe handle that fits the 1.5” board. Thanks for posting this!
This is great - thank you for sharing! For the very last shelf you made, do you anticipate it being very strong for holding much or is it more for just a few lightweight items?
I have just discovered your channel and I have to ssy, I love it. Not only is the content clear, concise and easy to follow, it is fun to watch too, lile some of my favourite other channels. I love how you get your kids involved too. I'm definitely going to subscribe. Great stuff.

Nice to have the kids helping.
For sure!
Nice to see the son working hard and learning ❤really enjoy the video 😊
Just figured out the meaning behind 6 and 8. Respect
Great project! Love that you involved your family so much. God bless!
Very cool great job great to see you getting your son involved in making his bed great job
Thanks so much!
I love that your son was such a great help!
He’s loved helping since he was a toddler. It’s amazing to see how far he’s come with his skills and confidence!

@@drewsellers3037You only use the bit on one side. The side you are screwing into does not get predrilled.
Amazing video. I like how you simplify this project. I’m inspired by your little guy❤️
We usually hand draw our designs on graph paper! I am not very good at 3d modeling, but am practicing every now and then.
It’s just so quick and works!
Love this and appreciate the drawing. It helps give ideas, and i definitely like those ladders' steps..

It’s like you knew what my next project is.
Too funny!
Great work, I’m sure the kids absolutely LOVE it. Isaiah looks a lot like you!
Simply glorious!
Looks great!! Really enjoyed the video!

Good job man, changed my idea in my design
Nice diy, thank you!

I would love to see a full size option like this!
I love your sons names, very biblical. Also, well done! Looks sharp!
Шикарная мастерская
Thank you!!!!
Can I get those plans and material list???
when you are building beds build the frame after your mattress, don't buy awkward mattresses.
This is great - thank you for sharing!
For the very last shelf you made, do you anticipate it being very strong for holding much or is it more for just a few lightweight items?
As long as it has at least one 90 degree support, it can handle a fair amount.
Hello! Amazing job man! What type of wood do you recommend to use for loft bed
Amazing video help a lot thank you
Much appreciated
Seahawks and Kraken stickers. I'm guessing you live in Seattle?
Do you rip and plane your boards for this?
On average how much did it cost for the materials?
Best tip: Use your child's labor to build their own bed! 😂😂
How thick were your mattresses

Did you screw it to the wall?
Ha! Draw-rings! What is your name Simon!? LOL I love to say that too bro. First Gen SNL
Yes!!! Love that someone got the reference.
Do you ever get splinters? Even if you’ve sanded it perfectly, I might use a polyurethane stain on the steps to prevent any splinters at all
How much did it cost for just the beds
is the measurement in inch or cm?
0:15 i know a hostage when i see one
I know an idiot ehen I see one.
What was cost of total build?
What type and size of screw did you use?
Coarse 2 1/2” screws
Picket holes are not "stronger" than most options. Wood glue by itself is stronger once dry.
For the forst like 30 seconds I didn't realize you were actually in the room it looked like you got green screened on top of it.
Ouffda, you could hit that with a car and the car would be totaled. Nice project anyone can do to be a rock star for their kid.
😆 So solid! Absolutely, the best to do it with the kids!
Bing
And you can also teach them how to be a MAN
Just circular saw and a drill? A pocket hole jig is like $100…
Send him the $100 if it matters so much to you. People use what they have, get over it.
Great job however it’s a shame to cover up that pretty wood grain with that sticker coat of stain and coat of Polly
