Jaguar 3.4 liter with a caravan. Renovation of Dinky models number 195 and 190.

The Dinky company started producing the caravan in 1956, and the Jaguar 3.4 l model in 1960. Both models are in the same scale, so they can form a set. All Dinka models from this period had a special cutout in the rear part of the chassis so that any trailer hitch could be mounted. I decided to paint both models in company colors. It just so happened that the cream color was available on both the trailer and the Jaguar. I also had a new windshield made since the Jaguar's original windshield was virtually non-existent. I also added a few extras that the cars did not have at the factory. As usual, at the end I supplied both models with copies of the original boxes from that period. Very nice indeed. I love your restorations - but my favourite part is the boxes you create. It is easy enough nowadays to see any particular model, but it isn't so easy to view the packaging. Your custom boxes are a real trip back in time - I'm 60, and I remember seeing the real boxes in toy shops when I was a child. It's a good feeling, that, in some cases, has reminded me of something completely different, that I had forgotten for many years.

Marvelous! The restoration of the Jaguar Sedan and Caravan turned out wonderfully! Towing a loaded Caravan with the 3.4L engine seems an invitation for disaster either going up a steep hill spitting transmission parts out, or coming down a steep hill setting the brakes on fire. It's a wishful thinking set-up and lovely none the less. More likely would be a big Zodiac or comparable. Your touches of glass in the Caravan and a refreshed interior for the Jaguar make a huge positive difference!! First rate, Pawel!! ❤❤ Stephen

Nice rig, there, Paul - very neat match! The glazing in the caravan really lifts the model, though I'd have been tempted into polished wheels for it to match the Jaguar. Looks better than new, though. Great work.
