- Video report from the construction of the new route on Rozhen Blvd. and its connection with the Northern Express Tangent.
A breakthrough on Rozhen Blvd. is expected to connect metropolitan neighborhoods with the Northern Express Tangent from April next year. According to the project, the new section of the boulevard will have two lanes with three lanes in each direction, a dividing strip and sidewalks. New engineering networks, water supply and separate sewage are being built. The lighting is already working, the dividing green area between the lanes is built, the sidewalks are also built.
The upcoming construction activities on the middle and south lanes of "Rozhen" Blvd. do not foresee stopping the traffic on the route. Those living in the surrounding neighborhoods will have access to public transport.
The value of the construction of the route is over BGN 50 million.
The first stage, as the most difficult section to build, are the last over 700 m, which includes all communications. A bicycle lane is also planned in the area of the western local lane on "Rozhen" Blvd.
Traffic in the northern part of Sofia will be eased and these areas will be better connected to the central part of the city. The tram route is also being built and reconstructed so that it is accessible and convenient for citizens in the northern districts. There is a possibility that next year "Rozhen" Blvd. will be extended and connected to the Ring Road.
