There was a bunch of licensed music in both Alan Wake and Quantum Break so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s in the game.
Wouldn't be too crazy for Remedy to use PT. I still remember playing Alan Wake and hearing Nick Cave Up Jumped the Devil and thinking "hell yeah" lol.
Can't wait! Remedy is one of my favorite developers.

Arthur Morgan Yes, deals can happen. Especially since I think they’re pretty much done with Max Payne. Somebody can definitely buy it from them at some point which could only be Remedy.
I hope you're not implying that Quantum Break was an "amazing game" because that would be sad. Complete trash and got a refund instantly.

Sold me. Same Reason. Has nothing to do with the fact that there isn't a remedy game I haven't bought since I followed Max Payne since 1999 till it's release of July in 2001. *looks down at Max Payne mouse pad* ... yeah it was Porcupine Tree in a review.

Ah man, I forgot REmake 2 released this year. Well damn. Personally I got intense bond with Remedy games, having played them since I've been a little kid and being Finnish like them. Alan wake being one of the best games of all time for me, and most memorable.
REmake 2 is a survival horror masterpiece, but there are some big flaws. Things that wouldnt matter if it wasnt a remake. See, they said that they decided to scrap A/B scenarios to make the two campaigns more unique. Bosses are the same for both, in the same arenas and theres overall some consistency issues with the story.. They really arent that different to justify cutting the A/B's. Sure they gave us, 2nd runs but those barely change anything at all. Its this flaw that probably makes me prefer Control over REmake 2 right now. Not sure yet, recently finished CONTROL so it needs some time to brew.

If you're playing this for the first time on PlayStation 5, and Series X, the performance complaints are no longer valid. I just finished this game on Series X, and had none of the frame rate issues mentioned in this review. The game was smooth 100% of the time.

Huber, just wanted to say that your reviews have become really great. Very precise, pointing out flaws, explaining mechanics in great detail and so on. Was a bit disappointed Ian didn't cut it in the beginning of this video when the names popped up, but Brandon did an excellent job, so please don't read that as ctiticism.

If you have a ps4 pro. Put in 1080p output then turn on boost mode. And and turn off rest mode. It helps with the frame rate not perfect but it does help.
Control and Astral Chain getting great to amazing reviews is a great thing for gaming
Great review, i'm on my first playthrough atm of the Ultimate Edition on Series X and it's just superb. All the technical hiccups mentioned in this review have been ironed out and with added ray tracing or a smooth as hell 60fps performance mode. I feel like the review glazed too quickly and lightly over the general lore of what the the bureau is and only briefly mentions objects of power - which in my opinion is the crux to the setting of the game. I don't think its remotely spoilery or anything, but rather an essential part of knowing what the game is about for viewers that have happened upon this video. 9/10 is the perfect score couldn't agree more.
I've been trying to figure out why a lot of games these days, use heavy handed ui elements, like elaborate health bars, and damage numbers. The answer is simple, the visuals have gotten to the point, that there are so many particle effects, elaborate backgrounds, and physics elements...that it would be impossible to differentiate enemies without them. Less is more sometimes.

I played for a couple hours today. So far I find the story extremely engrossing, and the combat is pretty fun as well!
I feel like I'd love this game if it wasn't mainly a shooter. It was the same problem I had with Quantum Break. I wish they'd focus on using powers like in Infamous rather than make a shooter where you also have abilities.

I was EXTREMELY excited to play this game, now that I'm halfway through it I'm baffled it made it to gold status... I am so let down by how bad the actual gameplay is... From the questionable controls (ironic, huh?) and combat, to the mind numbingly bad and vague puzzles to the INSANE level of bad bosses that are INSTANT deaths (one-shot kills) to the utter lack of honest checkpoints to the borderline useless map... I feel let down, I honestly do. The only reason I'm finishing it by this point is because I just have to see how the story ends. I doubt it can save it. I wanted to honestly love this game and recommend it like crazy, but over halfway through I say buy something else. I think it's getting grand reviews because reviewers are only playing the first two hours and then moving on.

Seeing the gameplay and visuals with particle effects makes me want Remedy to make a Harry Potter game. Especially hearing about the intricacies of the map.
this level of destruction should be future standard .
The motion blur sucks as well as how the objects become blurry as hell if you move even a cm away from them.

I'm really glad Control turned out that well. Remedy has had a rough time with Quantum Break, and Control needed good press as a "non open world" solo game. They're one of the last AAA studio doing that genre.

I just realized Remedy more or less built a single player Star Wars game before an official one was made by any other studio.(since Disney bought Star Wars)

Not gonna lie, I kinda forgot this game existed. Thanks for reminding me Huber, this looks pretty fun!
And that is why I fear this game is gonna flop commercially cause many ppl has it completely under their radar/forgot that it existed. Control has about 2-3 weeks before Gears 5 and Borderlands 3 hit the stores, so unless they are able get in the sales during that time, it will likely be commercial flop to them.
Weird, I never even heard of this game until today. I remember seeing the main character in story thumbnails on sites like Destructoid, but I always just thought it was Black Widow or something. Just goes to show how easy it is to block out games that don't peak your interest at first glance. Funny enough, after watching this review, I actually am interested now.
And thats exactly why I fear this game is gonna be commercial failure for Remedy....its completely under radar for most ppl out there and unless they happen to watch these reviews, it likely stays so. With MS no longer publishing/marketing their games, I fear that will effect the chances of success for this game, even if its also available on PS4. If this game had still been published under MS like Alan Wake and Quantum Break, it would have likely got atleast some more attention, especially since MS doesnt have other 1st party title coming this fall except Gears 5.
Yeah I don't hear that kinda praise often in reviews often..definitely will be checking out I've been looking for something new to dive into...anybody know how long the overall story is? I don't know if he said and I missed

The combat looks awesome but the dull environments are a letdown. Massive and blank office and warehouse spaces just don't seem interesting to explore. This is the type of title I'd be so happy to be a PS Plus title rather than one I'd go out and purchase.
I think one of the reasons why this is so is due to more limited budget/shorter development sequel for this game than their previous titles. Having environments/levels like in Alan Wake and Quantum Break would have likely taken lot more resources and time. Although the interiors shift and change during the game, I would still imagine it was bit easier/quicker to design this kind of game environment than if it would have had outdoor environments.
Looking forward to picking this up next year on steam when it finally releases.

I started playing this yesterday and I'm hooked. Does anyone see a bit of resident evil 2 remake in the game structure?( a building that allows backtracking, you don't necessarily know if you're safe in areas you have been before). I know the games came out in the same year so one ain't ripping off the other, and this one ain't survival horror, but it's been the game that satisfied my hunger for a resi2 type game.

Another BEYOND stellar review from the men over at EA. Jones has the voice of God himself. It's beautiful. I barely knew much about this game, but upon its initial reveal trailer, it always caught my interest. This gives me heavy Dead Space vibes and I love it. SO many games releasing that I can't get them all, but I do hope I get to play this at some point.
