@@pedroadelino100 end goal is to make this car mint and take it to Honda day or something! It's gonna be a long road but I plan to document all of it along the way
I absolutely love the eg hatch civic since I was a kid. I have a 03 Sentra ser spec v 6 speed I bought from market place and got scammed basically. Trying to bring this car back to life considering now I most likely need a new engine and definitely some body work done to it. So I guess I’m kinda on the same route as you are 😂. I don’t know why but I’m fascinated by the work you’ve put into that thing, really love the videos bro 👌🏽
Have you tried different spray oils on surface rust and how long do they last eg Seafoam Deep creep, WD40, 3 in one oil , WD40 specialist penetrant, PB Blaster. You seem to have some under the strut brace as well.
@@sheldonlamey7010 I've found rust checks dripless stuff is good out of a can, I have a buddy who undercoats cars with thick oil that he buys in bulk though for the big jobs
EG's are FWD Miatas in my opinion, Same suspension design, But if you wanna hoon and drive hard the EG hatch with a high revving motor is alot more fun for it. If you want something more cruise able but still feels fun in the corners Id take the Miata But realistically they give me very similar feelings, Something that alot of cars after 1999 do not have anymore
Nice brotha .. and man u musta have gotten lucky , cuz I have snapped 2 sets of maxpeeding rods coils and blown 3 turbos of theirs , the only thing holding up is there forged rods in my build , now I could have being a lil ruff on them but you say u tracked your car and they held , mine was just canyon racing and snapped the rods to the shocks , 1 front set and the other was rear set 😅... but for budget, they will hold your car up at least ... otherwise mad respect to the process, brotha 💯.. .. ps I just had to cuz an eccentric bolt myself that was seized in the bushing sleeve on the rear lower driver side as well, lol .. peace and love brotha, keep it rad, stay safe, and build on..l8r famz and keep having fun
I've genuinely jumped my E46 and slid it off track several times including ripping it out of the knuckle and pushing the coilover back in with a floor jack, After 2 years of that and winter driving I have one shock that sounds like its making a little noise but either then that they have been great to me
Insane amount of salt and snow, This cars actually amazing for being driven every winter for the last almost 30 years, Most trucks around here have split frames in the first 10-15 years of there lives, This things a genuine survivor
Hey I have extra set of rear sub frame and lower control aftermarket kit from DNA with all bolts and hardware I would love to give you I ended up buying 2 sets for my civic bit don't need this other set still new in box
I’m thinking to buy coilovers as well, but from the forums I saw that max speed don’t have such good reputation with their gen 1 coilovers, so I think of tein and bc racing
These are there 6th gen I think, And they just came out with a 7th Gen, I can't speak for anything else besides what I've used, And what's on my BMW wagon have been reliable for the price
Awesome video man. 😎 I don't care how you do things. It must just work and be safe. Watching you all the way from South Africa.
That's crazy far!
Thanks alot!

More to come. Lots to do still!
Those sentras were very overlooked in the day, super cool cars
it is really great to see it on the road with that new suspension upgrade
It's a little weird driving my dad's car, but it's way better then it sitting doing nothing haha, I'm super glad it's drivable again
Love the progress, thanks for the videos keep them coming!
@@juantapia7728 thank you :) I'm planning too!
Nice work! keep it up
Thanks! planning on overhauling the whole car next year
It'll help stiffness of rear end with the rust and new bolts so if you brake Old ones off in the process you'll have new ones to go inplace
Would love to see you build your own Honda Civic build!

I genuinely am not sure, Googling that brand they do look close though
I wish I could get support from Maxspeeding rods for my car projects but I dont have nearly enough subs as you. keep up the fun restoration

How would you compare the driving feel of the Miata and the EG. Are the Civic people missing out?
