Thank You Sir for showing me how to rebuild a Honda Starter. I just did my first one on my Prelude H22 Starter and now it works great as of November 4, 2021.
Solenoids don't have brushes, they have contacts. Those contacts in that solenoid which never got showed can be replaced without taking the starter off. I used to repair those in the peoples driveway for 5.00 dollars ( but I was experienced). The contacts cost .39 cents. a very simple job. If you break the cap it will cost about a dollar. Check your local rebuild shop for parts, don't go to parts stores. Now days you can go online. When we had our rebuild shop we used to sell complete rebuild kits for starters , alternators and generators for those who wanted to fix their own. Hope this helps.
Would you kindly provide the name for the part needed to rebuild the solenoid. This solenoid is very hard to find...
You are absolutely correct. Starters, and many other motors, have brushes, sometimes called carbon. Solenoids have contacts, whose job is to close the circuit. Overall, alike many knowledgeable whom may have looked at this video, I also was left wondering just what was "Rebuilt"? The starter was assembled in the same condition as it was when dismantled. No attempt was made to clean any part, nothing was replaced, neither the spring tensions were checked, nor the brushes for free movement, the commutator segments were not checked for neither out of round or contact (shorted) nor for resistance variation with nearly segments, nor the separation caps cleaned and on top of everything else, the cap was assembled in incorrect position. If the cap is not properly lined up, neither are the long starter securing bolts. Finally, I wonder why the manufacturers specifies tightening torques. Cheers from Aussie trained Dr. of Mechanical Engineering.
Am I missing it? what did you do other than take it apart and put it back together
So, what happened to the solenoid rebuild?
All he did was take it apart and put it back together.
Nothing was repaired.
He lost a screw😬
good video. even though you just pulled it apart and reassembled it. it would show anyone how to put the new parts in
He didn't take the solenoid apart. THAT was what I wanted to see.
Most of them are crimped together making them difficult or impossible to dis assemble or repair and re assemble.
what have you repaired really?
He can't do anything
Very good job we need install for air compressor thanks
Now how do you pull the solenoid apart to check the contactors
Hi.
we do not carry contact & repair solenoid just replace new one thank you watching video . leeautoelectric.com/?product_cat=&s=STARTER+SOLENOID+HONDA&post_type=product
that's what i'm trying to find out
No solenoid repair, no info at all
Nice video, but It would of been nice if you had some descriptive graphics or you had spoken.
Solenoid is crimped closed , almost impossible to take apart without breaking . also parts impossible to find .
Open it and reassemble.... nothing change
Is there other starter motors from a any Nissan to fit ed33 motor that is a Nissan diesel
no thank.
I lost my keys to my 07changer so I found another car with keys.so I want to know if that will work
I have problem with my starter solenoid, not the motor or motor brush, looks like he is not doing the right job, title: HOW TO REPAIR REBUILD STARTER SOLENOID BRUSH. But in video he is servicing the motor brush, not the solenoid! What I want to know is just how to open up the solenoid contacts. Looks like it is clamp locked without screw!
Remove the 2 x 12 mm nuts (in most cases) and the black plastic cover can be removed. Once upon the time, before greediness overtook the minds of people, service kits were available for the contacts. Nowadays, in some cases the contacts can be filed with a fine-tooth file of a suitable size, and then polished smooth. Finally, all the filings carefully removed from inside the solenoid. Hopefully his helps, even though it's a few years late.
And this is what you get when buying remanufactured?
long time ago thank you.
at least now i know how to disassemble a starter
Anyone can find that out for themselves just by undoing the only two bolts
I can't understand what they have repair
thanks, brother
My beloved job
he never did this before. hundreds of people on you tube do stuff, they`v never done before. The blind try to lead the blind.
This looks NOTHING like my civics starter. What year is this starter and why not include that info SOMEwhere in the title or description.
Hi.
The starter Honda they have 2 different manufacture one manufacture is Nipondenso and another manufactture is Mishuba that reason you see different thank you watching.
Excellent, thank you
Solenoid hasn't got brushes ?
wowww
c'mon Again... and again... just doing the same thing.... go to fishing
Pak kalo mobil sudah panas..kadang kadang di starter seperti nyangkut gitu... gak kuat ngangkat.. kalo mesin dingin sih lancar... kira kira apa ya ? Thank you.. please answer
please check your battery first if not ,removed starter then replacement brush/solenoid starter thank you.
Thanks sir
My dad always soaked his parts in gasoline
Utilizing gasoline for washing parts is the word of the week for people whom enjoy seeing themselves in flames. Others either make use of the various commercially available cleaning solutions, or diesel fuel.
@@ollimakkonen2818 I used to scrub the parts in gasoline for him. Never once did we burst into flames.🔥
@@jennyanimal9046 Good on You! Keep it up, the reward will arrive sooner or later.
Good
Asmr confirmed
you've just taken apart and ridden again
Hello I have a question important .is me can to use of Motor starter the car this in the game scooter baby weight 25 kilo please respond and thank you ???
Hi.
No it is thank.
WTF??? That was no repair, just a disassembly and reassembly. Not even cleaned internally, yet alone anything replaced or even serviced. How about at least some new grease?
Standard Phillips screwdriver bit used on JIS screw heads? I could have done better than that by the time I finished high school. I'm now over 70 and have serviced/repaired several thousands of starters, generators and alternators.
A total waste of time to watch this one.
ye kis ka self he
I love this
I want to learn
wtf... how u repair this ha??? i cant see noting u did... u only open and closed egen... nothing more...
