Just lovely, man! You make it look so deceptively easy but your touch, phrasing, and feel are so sweet. I don't think I've ever hit the like button so fast for anybody before. Thank you!!!

It's thanks to Stefan that I learned how to play solo fingerstyle acoustic guitar in several tunings. All those hours spent in my mid teens listening to his 'How To Play Blues Guitar' and 'Country-Blues Fingerstyle Guitar' vinyl LP's and following the tabs included in the booklets turned out to be well worth the effort. It turned me on to John Fahey and Leo Kottke and ultimately resulted in me composing my own original solo pieces. That was about 40 years ago, so It was a great privilege to see and hear Stefan play live in concert at The Sage in Gateshead just a few years ago. Thanks again Stefan, for playing a big part in keeping the art alive.

The master, and my first guitar teacher. Today has been a lonesome day, the funeral of Tom Paley. He taught me a lot, and I tried to absorb as much as I could. I urge all to play the guitar, which is an orchestra. Pleas listen to Stefan Grossman, Tom Paley, and other masters. Thank you.

This is probably my favourite Dylan song, and the way he plays it is just mind blowing

Wonderful and still inspirational to see you playing. This was great. I'm collecting your Kicking Mule LP's with the tabs. You've done so much for us humble guitar players, thank you!

There are not many guitarists that can make their guitar sing like Stefan does.

Nice vocals Stefan. Guitar playing goes without saying. The way the vocals and guitar fit together works well.

Kudos for Stefan for making some rare recordings of Steve Mann available. That could really up one’s guitar technique, like it did mine. So much that I moved right over to Violin.

This is pretty cool. Buckets of Rain is pretty much impossible to play like Bob anyway. Now that Waterbound is a nice tune too.

Why get a good guitar if only to murder its tone by plucking too hard with right hand or muting most all the bass notes? Some good content but poorly played. There is more to guitar than copping blues from the old school players who wrote the songs. Listen to yourself sometime. It's choppy and sloppy. Effective practicing would overcome that. And in fact Gary Davis did not approve of overplaying the guitar. You could play better by relaxing all the stored tension in your arms and hands. That is hardly authentic playing. Did Skip James or Mance Lipscomb do all that popping and snapping? No, they did not.

I'm sure he played better at 30 years old - no guitarist can maintain top tier articulation forever.

Don't worry buddy; two very strong, gentle and white dressed men are about to come and carry you to a quiet facility where you'll find calm and soothing for your troubles; two or three blue pills might help you too, to learn the difference between artistry and apprenticeship...

John Geddes Love your gall, lecturing a guy who has set thousands on the road about how to overcome his shortcomings. Maybe you’re the one who should ‘ listen to yourself sometime. Have you considered camomile tea?
