Spain were so brilliant in the 2010 FIFA World Cup & they were huge favorites coming into this tournament. After Holland smashed them, they just lost their mojo.

Now that I have seen it again, the 1-5 does not precisely reflect how the match went. Until the 60th minute, Spain was still in the game. They just lost confidence as soon as they conceded the 3rd goal, in contrast to the Dutch, who went for it to bury them once and for all.

So satisfying to watch 😌 when people ask me my opinion of my all time favourite Spain games and I tell them Spain 1-5 Netherlands is the best I’ve seen, people think I’m being sarcastic or joking but no I’m not. When I think of Spain’s greatest performances this is the first one I can think of. I mean they were just an absolute joy to watch at 2014 World Cup but nobody else can seem to see that 🤷🏻♂️
