Whenever I listen to this, I picture myself as a little kid running quickly through a forest, full of mystery and wonder at the world around me. What a great song.
Man....I love how they add a 3rd harmony to the "even in the light/morning in tide" part....fills it out so well and gives me chills every time. Wish it was on the record!
CSNY & Beachboys fusion. This song also has a touch of a very old song from 7 Brides for 7 Brothers; Lonesome Polecat ! The best version of this was at Glastonbury.
@datalorez just in case you are not aware they are currently finish up there newest album and they even have photos of its production on there website.
@frogstomp91 It's not that the crowd isn't excited....their voices are mesmerizing. I have seen them live and everyone is completely captured by their talent!
@@RockandRollWoman Yes, I know that now. I saw them in Paso Robles last wk in fact. Besides his singing I think Christian's choice of notes on the bass are amazing too.
@petersm69 Seattle appreciates art which I believe is important. It's a great enviroment for a musician/artist. I played a show in Tacoma, Washington (45 min from seattle) and was amazed at how receptive the audience was. Great place for music in general.
@bitteoszillierensie well....the horseness may coincide with their singing/playing for, like, 40 gigs in 90 days in the US and Europe, and the lack of "perfection" otherwise may simply be it's not a studio take, Glad you are able to find beauty in this performance, ultimately, because beauty is certainly there.
@susaninmaine I realize my comment sounded smug and overly critical. But while Fleet Foxes are a very unusual and creative band, I was still a bit disappointed the live version didn't feature the "two soft voices blended in perfection" I was hoping for. They sound a bit hoarse here. Nonetheless there is beauty in it.
I was following the pack all swallowed in their coats with scarves of red tied 'round their throats to keep their little heads from fallin' in the snow and I turned 'round and there you go and, Michael, you would fall and turn the white snow red as strawberries in summertime...
Whenever I listen to this, I picture myself as a little kid running quickly through a forest, full of mystery and wonder at the world around me. What a great song.
Perfect description!
Lay back in a field, headphones on, sun shining...pure bliss, love this band, Manchester UK...thumbs up!!
This version is 100x better than the studio version. That is an amazing feat.
i cant believe they can sing like this live
Cuz they were in choir before.
Une très belle chanson qui fait plaisir d'entendre! Douceur et nature!
honestly, not their best version. Still better and more melodic than most bands! truly love this song, anytime and anyway that they do it.
I really really enjoy this, I don't think it'll ever grow old.
such a great song, sounds like...find no words!
awesome!
robin sings his heart out. that's 1 of the many reasons of why i love fleet foxes
Man....I love how they add a 3rd harmony to the
"even in the light/morning in tide"
part....fills it out so well and gives me chills every time. Wish it was on the record!
If anyone has any idea how difficult this is to perform live, he'll agree this particular performance is stunning.
I love how old school they look! I feel like I'm watching a performance from the 60s!
2020 y aún la sigo escuchando B )
I saw these guys at lollapalooza last year. It was the first show I saw and my favorite show too.
Love the lyrics to this song!
CSNY & Beachboys fusion. This song also has a touch of a very old song from 7 Brides for 7 Brothers; Lonesome Polecat !
The best version of this was at Glastonbury.

great album + cover art: deserves more airplay
omg really good
This band makes me thing of Jethro Tulls's " Songs from the Woods" LP. Beautiful.
Yeah it does! Never thought of it before, and that's an album I love. Walking on Velvet Green 💚💚💚
💕💕💕💕
Love it ^_^
The crowd is just standing there. I'd be dancing and singing along!
@rugshort just type in "sonos white winter hymnal" on youtube and then listen :) it's a beautiful version!!!

@datalorez
just in case you are not aware they are currently finish up there newest album and they even have photos of its production on there website.
Oh my god...best version of this song ever..well I think so anyway
Father John Misty brought me here.
fleet foxes, you guys are crazy!
@frogstomp91 It's not that the crowd isn't excited....their voices are mesmerizing. I have seen them live and everyone is completely captured by their talent!
Who's the high voice? Bass player?
Pretty dang pitch perfect for live.
Bass player, Christian, is higher than Robin's main vocal. The drummer, J. Tillman, is singing the falsetto.
@@wezzlyn fjm was doing falsetto? Naaah. Look at other videos, he usually does the deep parts
Yes, it's Christian singing the Graham Nash parts.
@@RockandRollWoman Yes, I know that now. I saw them in Paso Robles last wk in fact. Besides his singing I think Christian's choice of notes on the bass are amazing too.

Oh my. Good vibe city. Population everyone listening to this. Heavenly music, in every sense of the phrase.
@LukeKellylives I definitely agree with you.. I love them live too =D
He came out and said it in an interview, sorry I don't have a source.
I fucking can not wait to see them!
@bitteoszillierensie well....the horseness may coincide with their singing/playing for, like, 40 gigs in 90 days in the US and Europe, and the lack of "perfection" otherwise may simply be it's not a studio take, Glad you are able to find beauty in this performance, ultimately, because beauty is certainly there.
my school's choir needs to get on this song.
@LukeKellylives Agreed. AGREED!
Lotería de Navidad escogió esta musica para la publicidad .muy buena
@bunnyofwar It's Ragged Wood
Greets Cas Ronckers
@rugshort listen to the version of SONOS...it's beautiful
@susaninmaine I realize my comment sounded smug and overly critical. Same here.
@ajadebragg Yeah perfect explanation of the "atmosphere" they make! :D
sometimes you just gotta stand still and let it wash over you
@freakystylntime probably Nushuktan Tulyiagby, borat's neighbor. he couldnt get this song on his ipod mini.
Father John Misty (for ‘tis he) on drums.
@thekook33 they are.
i literally think theres a person who goes around making sure everything gets at least 1 dislike regardless
@bigd934
because its time to rock sensibly
i want fleet foxes live album
I never like modern music but this is a great song
i
@freakystylntime you rock
Win, +1
I guess Ragged Wood is really just the second half of White Winter Hymnal.
Now I see where the Shins got their inspiration.
wow, these guys played the shit out of that song
@dozer1189 AWESOME!!!!!!!! straight up country
How could anyone down-vote this song??
Damn this comment is old 😅
They remind me so much of America, only they're Fleet Foxes
@thekook33 haha yeeaah G. im sure of it. pretty tight tunes ey?
and ragged wood ...
@eedobaba7726 you know those germans didn't learn anything in the past 100 years, let alone how to read setlists.
@lilCaucasian Forizzles!
They are amazing, but I miss the endingo piano of the original song!
What is it with seattle and pumping out awesome bands?
@elmalo314 Oh yeah! :D
I was following the pack
all swallowed in their coats
with scarves of red
tied 'round their throats
to keep their little heads
from fallin' in the snow
and I turned 'round and there you go
and, Michael, you would fall
and turn the white snow red
as strawberries in summertime...
Of course this cannot match the perfection of the recorded version, bu tit comes pretty damn close
@freakystylntime Well, it ain't much u wanna know then.
Or vise versa, I can't tell who came out first.
@mizzipaul82 It's the Santa Claus for sure, because the mankind loves the fleet foxes more than the Santa Claus self. :D
it's thor playing the drums
The true bards of Skyrim.
why is there half of ragged wood and then it just stops?...
