    While I love pappastache for most lessons, this doesn't even come close to meeting my expectations for a Hendrix thing.
    No offense intended, but that's my opinion.

    • @mmmanutd
      @mmmanutd 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep :/ It's not very Hendrix though, but that thing he did in 6:16, like bending the e string and at the same realising the B string it's really Hendrix signature but it's always overlooked

      A s/s/s strat will always be my go to. The amount of useable sounds you can get with a flick of the selector/knobs is awesome. I have an lp traditional I spent nearly 3 times as much on (and love, don't get me wrong) but for the most part, I only bring it out when other people want me to play it. you have to pull my strats from my cold dead hands haha

      All of the videos I have done with Tim in his studio or mine have all been through Divided by 13 RSA or BTR23's with a boost pedal added sometimes. His is a custom audio electronics boost and at my studio there is a RC Booster or a Divided by 13 Lift pedal. He uses Line 6 or Strymon delays a lot and at my place we use a Strymon El Capistan.

      Looks like C# too me, this guy is playing C#? Oh wait .. My bad? No I didn't watch all through I like comments, before I even watch along . Hendrix songs in the key of C?. I cannot think other than 'watchtower' and that one video (white background Hendrix 12 string sitting on bar stool? !2 string tuned real low probably C# hear train comin? Or something, know im sayin,''' tears burnin me, whatever? Like, its too bad' too bad' little girl ' we had part. that's it .. Hendrix almost cries for split second , its up close his head down. Band of gypsies. power of soul key of C?. (I cant spell) motel hell'o . You guys sell lessons huh? Why not play the bars. Fight? Yeah I know , always think first twice. Be wise , anything that buys a bag of groceries nice. Good jam by the way, He plays bends (Phrases better than lot of guys

    • @dannyhood66
      @dannyhood66 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes indeed, down half step , probably the same as ''day of the
      eagle'' I could be wrong? Not likely , Although Hendrix albums are
      tuned down half step, if trower did it? , Like van halen they both claimed
      Clapton, instead of Hendrix , Thank you for thinking of me here . I found
      a half step down they all tuned red brown around icy water
      underground. Im abliged also, for you making it clear, that im not here
      :(

    I love the pacing that Tim has on his lessons. His breakdown always has the context included, something lacking with many other internet teachers. Keeping the balance of moving slow enough for folks to get it and moving fast enough to keep things moving is tough but Tim does it masterfully. I hope one day I can take lessons from him personally.

    Finally got this lesson under my fingers. I wish he had done all 36 bars. Guess I'll have to figure out the rest on my own. I have taken note of the comments below regarding equipment used and played around with it a bit. I don't have a Divided/13 amp but I finally got close to Tim's sound and was surprised what it took to imitate it. Though I have 3 boost/OD pedals the one that seems to work the best is a Boss OD-2 without the turbo (if anyone is interested). with a little slap back on TC delay. Also... I am finding that copying the way he attacks the strings with his right is extremely helpful in many ways. Thank you so much for posting this.

    Sorry dude, I've always thought Hendrix was totally over rated. His claim to fame is the right place at the right time and the novelty of playing a guitar with right handed stringing left handed. There are SO many guitar who are way more talented than he ever was. He was just ahead of his time.

    • @BrettPapa
      @BrettPapa  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is one way to look at it. Every single guitar god at that time all thought he was pretty much the best guitarist ever, Page, Beck, Clapton just to name a few. He played left handed but it was still strung normal. Don't forget he not only played guitar, wrote all the music, but also was a brilliant lyricist. It is the totality of what he did. Not only that but totally pushed musical tones both in and out of the studio. Lots to consider when talking about him. All within a span of about 4 years and died at 27.

    Hendrix didn't do much with his fret hand that's why his solos sounded like shit
