I believe he said in a post that he got someone to do the voiceover was because of burnout. Like actually doing the voiceovers adds extra time and effort in each video.

Nice as usual. I still prefer your voice over this. Two notes: 1. De Beers was never an American company. Itvwas founded by South African & British owners. 2. Moissanite is NOT sold as "fake" diamond, but as it's own thing, moissanite, like any other gemstone. Although like cubic zirconia, it used to be used as a diamond substitute, it has become in demand and desireable in itself. Moissanite has a higher refractive index, and much more visible "fire" than a diamond, making it even more beautiful, in the opinion of many.

I repaired a machine for a company near Piscataway, NJ about 24 years ago that made artificial diamonds. I was told that the next day a Russian dignitary second to Boris Yeltsin was coming to the company. I was being given the 50cent tour until I started asking very specific questions. They had several presses about ~1 meter square when closed, that resembled artichokes.

@@_Solaris It depends, what's the electrode potential of the reference metal currently in your mouth? actually, just tell me what metal you have in your mouth already, and I can grab the values myself. I can also estimate the voltage produced. also, try biting a strip of magnesium ribbon, or any other piece of magnesium metal, and you will get a shock something like 3 times that of aluminum. Water -doesn’t- shouldn’t freeze under pressure. Due to the atomic properties of the solidification process of water, the ice would expand to create _more_ pressure. Instead, the water would be forced closer to it’s maximum density or compressibility (liquid) before becoming solid as Ice 7, a cubic crystalline structure of water. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that under standard pressurization circumstances water should not freeze.

Under dry hydrogen, progressively dissolve powdered aluminum carbide in molten lithium hydride while electrolyzing (re alumina to aluminum beneficiation in cryolite). Diamond forms from the hydrogen plasma in the electrical double layer at the anode, and rapidly grows. Graphite, glassy carbon, other carbon lattices etch. Thermodynamics proposes, kinetics disposes.

Moisannite actually has a higher index of refraction than diamond.

Im tiried of hearing about the Debeers monopoly. Diamonds are cheap when they're low quality. A giant flawless pink diamond will always be expensive because of how rare it is, whether debeeers has a hand on it or not.

Out of interest, can you test various diamonds for the content of carbon 14? I have been told all diamonds have it even though with old age theories of the age of rocks all carbon 14 should be gone. Was wondering what results you would get.

Would be nice to have a universal constructor, atomic 3d printer.
