I really wish you would listen to everyone and do the voiceover yourself again. Your voice is so unique and charming, and was one of the main reasons I loved your videos. They just aren't the same without it :/
So true, cant even be bothered to watch it anymore. There are plenty of this type of vid´s out there with a generic english voice, this channels edge for sure was the halfbroken english, so funny and very charming.
I believe he said in a post that he got someone to do the voiceover was because of burnout. Like actually doing the voiceovers adds extra time and effort in each video.
Agreed, The dudes house burnt down recently if I recall so I say cut him some slack, sometimes you just don't have time to do a voiceover. I definitely prefer his voice over a voiceover though
I was just about to leave a comment asking him to upload the video without the voice-over. You speak perfectly good English, you don't need a voice-over. It actually negatively impacts your videos
Nice as usual. I still prefer your voice over this. Two notes: 1. De Beers was never an American company. Itvwas founded by South African & British owners. 2. Moissanite is NOT sold as "fake" diamond, but as it's own thing, moissanite, like any other gemstone. Although like cubic zirconia, it used to be used as a diamond substitute, it has become in demand and desireable in itself. Moissanite has a higher refractive index, and much more visible "fire" than a diamond, making it even more beautiful, in the opinion of many.
I repaired a machine for a company near Piscataway, NJ about 24 years ago that made artificial diamonds. I was told that the next day a Russian dignitary second to Boris Yeltsin was coming to the company. I was being given the 50cent tour until I started asking very specific questions. They had several presses about ~1 meter square when closed, that resembled artichokes.
Anyone who is wondering...he has a VO guy because he hasn't had the extra time necessary to do it himself. In time maybe he'll be up to the extra workload again, but stop giving him a hard time demanding your personal preference. He certainly works hard to provide high quality content with no fee required; so enjoy it, and encourage him instead!
I love this channel, but don't like the post production voice. Without your organic voice track, which I, and I'm sure many others love to listen to, I almost can't hear what's actually in the video! Keep up the great content, but please do the voice track yourself. Also, sorry you lost your workshop, I did donate, as I'm sure many others have.
I really like your narration. I’m not sure if you’re planning on continuing with the overdubbing but I would be sad if you did. Your videos as they usually are , are so excellent! I would be happy to have them in your native language with subtitles, even
Hi everyone in the comments. Yes, we love his natural accent. But he has mentioned in the past that it takes a lot of time for him to do the translations and voiceover. Also, his lab burned down recently and he probably couldn't have done the voiceover this time.
@@_Solaris It depends, what's the electrode potential of the reference metal currently in your mouth? actually, just tell me what metal you have in your mouth already, and I can grab the values myself. I can also estimate the voltage produced. also, try biting a strip of magnesium ribbon, or any other piece of magnesium metal, and you will get a shock something like 3 times that of aluminum. I tried it and it feels like a battery put in your mouth, which is basically what it is.
i think they just basically use methane and microwaves to make plasma and have a coil with a grounded target plate at lower pressure but not full vacuum with "seed diamonds" on the target plate. I watched a video on it years ago, maybe you can find it on youtube still.
Water -doesn’t- shouldn’t freeze under pressure. Due to the atomic properties of the solidification process of water, the ice would expand to create _more_ pressure. Instead, the water would be forced closer to it’s maximum density or compressibility (liquid) before becoming solid as Ice 7, a cubic crystalline structure of water. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that under standard pressurization circumstances water should not freeze.
I saw the reason you can't use your voice in the commuinty tab so take care. The voice over isn't bad. This was interesting. If you could lab created sapphire and emerald. Merry Christmas.

Under dry hydrogen, progressively dissolve powdered aluminum carbide in molten lithium hydride while electrolyzing (re alumina to aluminum beneficiation in cryolite). Not really, those regional companies are just shells for the corporate monopoly. They have shell businesses in every country they operate. They operate a lot in Africa because they have historically exploited the locals….
British company founded by two Englishmen when South Africa was still a colony. It's diamond marketing success in America and Hollywood's backing is what made it world famous and a monopoly..
What I really would like to know is how the amount of energy necessary to create these diamonds weighs up against the end products value, taking into account also the price tag of cutting diamonds.
While I do understand wanting the fluent voice over, I’d love alternate videos with the old narration. We understood you just fine, and it was a unique draw of the channel
Please we want your voice to make a comeback also you haven't done a video on calcium in your elemental series make it complete!!!!!, it's just like seeing something being close to perfection
Thoisoi, Encouraging you to keep making great videos!!! You're one of the best, on TH-cam & your videos are very good!!! When things get tough ... The tough get going!!! Keep on, Keeping on!!! 'ol Pete, from NE Dallas County, Dallas, TX, USA
I won't share a link to another channel, but there is a video on TH-cam of someone making real diamonds in a home lab. I think it would be interesting to see if you could reproduce it. Oddly, they appear to do it somehow without pressure. The video is produced by a legitimate broadcasting company, so I do not feel it is fake.
I was told that the artificial diamond industry was forced by Beers to add nitrogen such that these diamonds are yellow. They are scared that artificial diamonds are perfect like silicon wafers, no inclusions, no defects.
I doubt I'm the first person to point this out, but De Beers is not, nor has it ever been, an American company. It was founded by a Dutch-South African with financing from South African and British financiers.
DeBeers is all but American. Speaking from South Africa, where they have been mining for ages and established. I myself work for Anglo American in the Iron Ore industry, previously from Platinum.
I just saw the video about your lab burning. Sorry to hear about that, and I hope you recover fully from the loss. Please do bring your own voice back to the channel as soon as you can though. As the comments show, most people don't like the voiceover. We want to hear YOU, not somebody reading a script, with no knowledge of the subject being discussed.
Here a idea. For all the people like me make second channel with same video but with your voice or just upload 2 video on this channel one like this and one with original voice. Ever body will be heppy than. Happy holidays.
@10:18 OH! I thought we were looking through one of the diamond anvils during the preparation steps. These arrows would have been better served if they came earlier in the video.
Dude your English is fine and much better than some voice over. Don't listen to anyone who tells you different, I trust and respect your true voice much more than a voice actor that doesn't understand what you are saying.
Not that it matters much, but I didn't think De Beers was ever an American or USA company. I'm not sure why Anglo American chose that name, but at least online it shows them as being head quartered somewhere in Africa and then later London.
I hope the lab situation got handled.. Although the voiceover might help us out with understanding, YOUR voice is what makes the channel unique and you should keep it that way. Plus, you save money since you don't have to pay anyone or AI to do a voiceover. Authentic overrules a Saturated Voice
it's wild how the algorithm buried this channel and made me have to actively look for new Thoisoi videos, while that NileRed purple gold video is being promoted to all heck
Diamonds are two a penny. The market is full of man made ones and it is really hard to spot them. About a 1/3 of diamonds bought now are man made and in the pool. The price of them is inflated so much and is one of the biggest cons going.
Im tiried of hearing about the Debeers monopoly. Diamonds are cheap when they're low quality. A giant flawless pink diamond will always be expensive because of how rare it is, whether debeeers has a hand on it or not.
Out of interest, can you test various diamonds for the content of carbon 14? I have been told all diamonds have it even though with old age theories of the age of rocks all carbon 14 should be gone. Was wondering what results you would get.

I made gold from lead. Chewed fishing weights and swallowed. Out came gold. Only problem is I can’t do maths any more…
Same for me, almost. I use to chew charcoal in the hope that it produces diamonds.
