Hi mate, You are 100% correct in saying that the best upgrade for a Typhon, be it 3s,4s,6s is just drive it. Its a '' drivers dream '' - I really love this build man, You know more about what works best than you sometimes let on bud 👍 I really respect your opinion and your attitude my friend, I have been subscribed now for awhile but have never commented but have always left a like on your video's which are top notch, I appreciate the amount of time you put in to this platform. I've learnt a lot from this channel and for that, i sincerely thank you. I am elderly and am disabled and a Widower, so I have a lot of time on my hands to put into the wonderful world of RC. It has saved my earthly life. Your super build here is nothing short of a piece of art mate and seems at a happy place on 4s for sure on track! Remember i said i have a lot of time on my hands? Lemme tell you about mine... I bought the V5 RTR 6s...Pulled the motor/esc and wacked in a Max 6 4985 1100KV running 6s. Put on EXB chassis braces, a GPM wheelie bar, T-bone front bumper and some other EXB gear. Now, I'm running ADU Racing front and rear T5 7075 upper and lower arms with Alloy and Carbon fibre Kraton knuckles, bearings and axles on all 4 Hubs. Adding also 15mm Yeah Racing hex extenders all round. Tires are Proline Toyo Proxes 54/107's ( same size tires as the Felony rears. ) Now some would say its crazy and it is, in the most awesome sense. I have over 15 cars and am sick of buying them so I wanted something that could speed run, Race on tarmac and with a swap out of wheels and a droop screw/shock adjusting i'm in the dirt, racing on mainly flat clay surfaces with friends. This thing is a perfect Frankenstein build and is something to behold when driving it. Running her on 6s keeps all electronics cool and not over stressed on a 21T pinion. Diffs are 200f 500c 100r Also replaced the receiver with a Dumborc X6FG. Having 25% Gyro on this car is where its at for me. Only upgrade yet to install are the 3x RCAWD Diffs. Statistical data shows these diffs are 30% stronger than the EXB Arrma diffs. ( food for thought...? ) The lap times are completely nuts compared to stock. No matter who I give it to, "''' DRIVE '''' Its jaw dropping quite literally. Anyway, enough waffle from me... You take care, God bless you and your family, and thank you so very much for the continued inspiration that you feed us through this wonderful channel. Jimmy - Perth, Western Australia.
The Typhon is definitely a strange RC as far as figuring out the handling. You obviously know how far I took my build. I avoided doing those hubs and axles on mine as to not “trugify” it, and I know to truly do that I need to run the K6 arms. I wanted a true Typhon, just upgraded as hell. I still can’t get it tuned so it doesn’t traction roll. I have also never seen a car so affected by tire choice. If I throw 2.8 belted trenchers on it, it’s a bit more fun, if I throw the 2.8 belted badlands on it, it’s completely different. I think I am going to have to go with the regular badlands buggy tires for it, which I have been avoiding because they aren’t belted. I prefer a belted tire. There are a set of belted buggy tires out there by Jetko, but finding somebody who sticks them is a while mother story.
Trim the outer edges of the knobs to more of a slant mainly on the front tyres. I don’t own a typhon but I’ve been using the 2.8 badlands and non stop roll overs until I trimmed the front knobs. Do every second one if you like and the just come up with something to suit your driving and track conditions
Just burnt up the plastic gear in my mega brushed typhon few days ago. Picked up a 1900kv motor esc combo and metal gears, just have to order the diff upgrades and few other things to convert to 4s.
Great runs Joe! The 15s are in the works, won't be long even with track conditions being what they are. You'll have it doped out, I got faith in you brother! :)
By widening it, you've also changed your effective spring rate on the shocks... so you might end up needing stiffer springs or at least a big thicker fluid. The squirreliness might have been from the rear swaybar coming undone. Or was it still that way even when you knew it was connected? Congrats on the new record too!
Well kinda but not really. The hinge pins and pivot points are all the same as fast as suspending the vehicle. It does add a little bit more pressure on those pins. In the case of the wide Xmaxx arms yeah it adds a lot of the spring rate due to moving the pivot points further out.
The wider stance looks great and I'd say its rotating better in the corners. A little more time on the setup, and more track time, and you'll be in the 15s, no problem 👍
Arrma is awesome I’d like to see them get into crawlers with the same energy as bashers. More importantly I’m hoping you can point me in the right direction. I just installed the new Max 8 combo & it looks awesome & everything is connected. And I little history I blew up the original electronics & only the servo worked & the esc only blinked green & had no power. So I replaced with new Max 8 & now with battery connected there’s no servo or any signs of power at the receiver or esc. I’m guessing the receiver & Esc need to bind together with the new electronics. How is that done or am I missing something & it’s something else. HELP!! The Fireteam is sitting with brand new Max 8 in it & I’m dying to get it going. Than you
In the situation you mentioned, there are two possibilities, the first may be that your new Max 8 is in poor contact with the lipo, and the second may be that the lipo does not have sufficient power.
truggified i have one like this and one reversed the longer arms with the shorter knuckles and axles . it transforms into to more capable high speed basher
Great video... I really like them tires... also I have the same set up on my 6s typhon with the kraton hubs... that's how I truggifed it an fit badland mx 2.8s on I just put a bash video out on it mines also has all the exb option parts.... I think u would like it
I've done Mojave arms/CVDs all-around on my Typhon along with K6 hubs/axle ends for added strength. & Loved it! Also added Mojave 9lbs springs up front & Doubled the Typhon rear springs. I got mine 2nd hand & it had 15mm-20mm axle extenders on it. Once I threw Mojave wheels on it for bashing I started breaking hubs, blowing bearings & popping pillar balls. It was my only rig so I wanted to Ruggify it a bit for off-road & keep the width for street bashing. With that setup & Felony rear hoons all around or GRPs, she handles like a dream on the street! I even have some adapters for ⅕scale GRPs... I plan on doing a few speed runs just to see what she'll do with a 23t Pinion, plenty of cooling & the stock blx185... I experiment with it so much that it's currently set up with a 29mm center LSD, 1M diff fluid, no front center driveshaft & 1M diff fluid in a stock Typhon open rear... Also 1.5 silicone earplugs in the front with 15k diff fluid. She rips as a RWD BUGGY ON THE STREET! Just have to warm the tires up a bit 1st...😁
What have you done to it to get it so low?- that looks sweet, do you have any tips for how you aligned your wheels as i have a typhon 6s with mojave axels
I've been thinking about turning my typhon into a truggy and I know next to nothing about swapping parts around and this doesn't seem like what I'm going for I don't necessarily want a wider buggy but more truggy.
16.2!!! Nice! And you're 16.4 was the lap where you let off! Both laps could have been in the 15s! I swear I think if you got a group of guys who race a lot they could get close to a 15.
It's crazy I have found that things that I think are gonna improve something sometimes does not help......some stuff works and some.does not...all we can do is try...

PowerHobby just released belted buggy tires. Planning on trying them on my Typhon 3s at some point.

you can run a truggywheel with the 0 offset or 3-8 too . i thought the opposite with the bearing load , you right i didnt realize

@@ExocagedRC That makes sense! Thanks for the clarification!

Exactly what kraton huns did you put on, exb or v5 version.
Tha k you.
Did you install the kraton front/rear drive shafts also or are they stock?
Brilliant video mate love the truck nice lot of power bud 👍👌👏
Great run Joe and a 16.2 for good measure, just awesome man!! 👏👍
Yeah I was surprised to see that
@@ExocagedRC gonna be in the 15's next time i reckon 👌

All i did was gear down and put 3.8 proline belted mx38 and it does backflips and bashes!!!! upvoted!!!
Ya those tires are the ultimate for truggified typhon , I bought trenches by accident and they smaller
Great video... I really like them tires... also I have the same set up on my 6s typhon with the kraton hubs... that's how I truggifed it an fit badland mx 2.8s on I just put a bash video out on it mines also has all the exb option parts.... I think u would like it
Why do you only need 2 hexes? That covers the front but not the back hexes you would need?
Hi. Will this upgrade work on a 3s? 👍🏿
I was thinking
Going with Mojave arms on a typhon
What do you think
Are they longer? If so that would be the better way to keep steering geometries in check. If they are longer you’ll need the Mojave axles too
I've done Mojave arms/CVDs all-around on my Typhon along with K6 hubs/axle ends for added strength. & Loved it!
Also added Mojave 9lbs springs up front

Damn that thing is smooth
Will this conversion work for the 3s as well?
you can definatley get even faster with thicker diff fluid more traction on the straights
Replacing a lipo with a larger C number can also make the Kraton 6s faster. For example sypom 6s lipo.
Fluffy stuff! I love fluffy stuffed .......stuff👍
I've been thinking about turning my typhon into a truggy and I know next to nothing about swapping parts around and this doesn't seem like what I'm going for I don't necessarily want a wider buggy but more truggy.
I've watched your course so many times i feel i can break 16 with a typhon in my sleep!! hahah just kidding Upvoted!!!!!!!
Dude someone will break into the 15’s soon.
People do this mod for speed runs. You probably should tighten springs tension more with added center of gravity and weight…. Great video
These two methods can really improve the speed.
Track looking better better is it in ur backyard
16.2!!! Nice! And you're 16.4 was the lap where you let off! Both laps could have been in the 15s! I swear I think if you got a group of guys who race a lot they could get close to a 15.
Put some mudguards on the rear arms 🙈
The sad part is your not racing and what's really sad is their is no one there to race against you!
LoL I open it up on Sundays and yea we race. With multiple vehicles on the track we crash a lot. LoL
when there are more then 2 its a demo derby not a race .
@@ExocagedRC That's good to hear.
@@ExocagedRC sounds very exciting
Yeah as a racer that's a huge no for me, sure it will be wider but it's not gonna handle as well
Nice
why only 4s? plus what wheels and tires are those?
4s is much easier to control on a track, and still fast enough to have a good time.
set up is key with any thing . it ALL matters . want to go fast start talking to the guys who win all the time .
Congrats on new record Cheater😂 nice video. Need a one handed driver challenge
It's crazy I have found that things that I think are gonna improve something sometimes does not help......some stuff works and some.does not...all we can do is try...
That’s true. All we can do is try. I doubt the width gave me the faster lap but it was there.
@@ExocagedRC or I have found that something may help in one way but not the way I expected...lol..
How did you attach the body
The body never changed, its just a typhon
Thx
U drive very well bro 🫡
Thank you
Mid 15's easily
I think so too
Go wide in the back.
