Hello, I'm interested in setup/installation video. Just got my Streamdeck XL. I have been looking at all your videos regarding the Streamdeck but unfortunately seem to be going around in circles. The AAO Steamdeck plugin, where do you install that ? I am getting a load of question marks on my icons and think it is where the AAO SD plugin is installed. Getting very frustrated trying to set this SD XL up. I can see the value of using it but can not get it working. I will use the X-Touch mini until I get some answers from somewhere. Thanks Ian
I see the latest version of Axisandohs (2.10) has a free "bridge" app to work with the "Knobster" dual rotary knob. I know the knobster is more expensive (~$130 US dollars) than you prefer, but it should make your idea possible to use a stream deck to select which particular knob function the dual rotary knob would change. I agree with you that having a physical dual rotary knob to tune radios and work with various FMS's would be more realistic and therefore "immersive." (By the way I love using my Stream Deck XL with MSFS and I enjoy your videos.) :)
Wonderful, thanks. Answered my BIG issues for my two grandsons flt. Simulator we are building. Won't be able to get to it til late Sept because i live 400 miles away however, the Sim now has both the Stream Deck Plus and the Stream Deck Xl that your video really helped with. Based on your video I hope it will be possible to use the two top left buttons to select either MSFS 2020 and XPLANE and then have a menu/page to select, as do you, various other aircraft and then, to open further menu's to program the various aircraft items in. Any suggestions appreciated by anyone. Tom
In your video you talk about collecting h: and b: variables. When I select "Read HVars and BVars from MSFS" it says it is collecting them but gets hung up and never completes the process. Any thoughts? Cheers!
All extremely useful! My Stream Deck arrives tomorrow (and I already have a Behringer X-Touch) - looking forward to putting it all to good use. Handy that I'm also a videographer by trade, so I can justify the expense for work :-). One comment about the video - I wonder if you might be using the compressor/noise gate a bit aggressively? Personally, I would prefer a steady background hiss rather than the pumping in and out to silence. It cuts off some of your opening words as well, which doesn't help. Maybe look at ways of improving the room acoustics, bringing the mic closer to your mouth, and turning the gain down. A minor quibble in an excellent series of videos, though.
Thanks for the feedback, and I agree totally about the sound. I wasn't too happy with it and was going to upgrade the mic, but i thinnk its a bit better in the newer videos. Let me know if its better for you now, if not I will play with the settings again.
@@FlightSimandOtherStuff Actually, yes, it is much better in more recent videos. So much so that I was going to edit my comment! It's still 'pumping' a bit when the gate or compressor kicks in, but it's noticeably better. Hope you don't think I was being overly fussy - it's just that I notice these things because of my job! The content remains excellent. Cheers!

@@FlightSimandOtherStuff honestly, it's much improved on recent videos. I don't think it's the mic - I think you should look at whatever you're using to edit the video - see if the gate settings are too sensitive or the compressor is ducking the background noise too much. But the content more than makes up for it! My Stream Deck arrived yesterday so I'm having fun working my way through all your material again :-)
Hi Could you please show me how to setup a row of icons containing the downloaded aircraft profiles. I followed your video a week ago on how to set-up the A320 cockpit views. I was really pleased to get something working. All the profiles I have downloaded, I have yet to get any of them working ! The downloaded profiles like the C172 that you made a video on, I am missing a number of icons that where on your C171 and pressing the buttons only gives me ! instead of doing anything. I also followed your videos on the behringer, it is actually working better than the XL ! I bought the XL thinking it looked easier than x touch mini. I am so looking forward to getting the XL running as it will may a huge difference to flights. I hope you are ok as I have not seen any new stuff from you in awhile. Cheers Ian

Thanks for the tip. I was playing with Voicemeeter for the mic (iRig) but it just doesn't want to play ball. On the later videos I am taking the mic feed direct into OBS and its a l little better... I hope
@@FlightSimandOtherStuff are you using the compression and gate knobs in voicemeeter? I was actually using that for setting up lecture capture at the university where I work the other day and the comp/gate controls are really bad - turning the comp up a bit brought the noise floor up quite a lot so I found leaving it off better. Although if you want really nice settings then get the biggest version of VM (potato) and use VST plugins for dynamics and EQ (reaplugs are free and fine). Forget SPADnext. Most ready made profiles are written for AAO's. I was struggling for hours trying to figure out these videos training.
