Many teachers when they start their pathway to teaching, come across the CELTA and the TKT. Usually referred to by colleagues in the area or as a job requirement. Even though they do some research on the topic, these teachers still don’t know if they should do one or the other. In this video, I’m going to tell you what the CELTA and the TKT are, the requirements for them, the differences between these two, and my opinion about them: if you should do them both and in which order. This might help you choose what English Certificate to look for.

Well, in my opinion as you said, I think both exams are perfect, but DELTA is more specific and difficult, but I guess that is more deep and more qualification. Would you recommend a prep course or do you think a self sutdy could work to get a "high" band on TKT?
Well, both work. I took a course, which was a great advantage because I got some teaching tips regarding warmers back then... but a friend of mine got her Band 4 self studying. It really depends on your pace and how you learn.

7:54 If I had to sit only one of the 3 TKT module exams as a preparation for the CELTA, which one would you recommend? 🙂 To put it another way, I'm interested to know which TKT module overlaps the most with the CELTA syllabus.
Oh... I don't really know. I think all of them are useful. I am fond of grammar, so for sure I' tackle that one if I had to choose, you know? But CELTA focuses on nomenclature.
You will use everything in CELTA, sometimes not explicitly, but you might use them when planning your lesson.
I would see the TKT as a preparation for the CELTA Course you know ?
You forgot to mention the huge difference in cost. CELTA is pretty costly compared to TKT, around 30 times more.

For sure it will. I am a qualified teacher and I have a TKT certificate. So, it's a good extra for your resumé.

how much should my score be in ILETS so i know i am good for CELTA ?
I believe now these certificates like fce,tkt ,cae, and so on are recognized by particular schools apart from having an education degree ,before these certificates were anything
They are. Private schools have been taking these certificates a lot into account.

So do I need to have a previous certification for taking the TKT test? Or is it enough just having the knowledge.
You don't need a previous certificate to take the TKT, but it is important to study for it. If you can self-study using the TKT Book, great! Or taking a course is also an option. The important thing is having the required terminology knowledge!
Hi , Can you plz advice me as a teacher having more than 10 years of teaching , which TKT module is best to take ( if I have to take only one module ) please give an honest suggestion
I think that all teachers should have certifications. Be this a teacher who's been teaching for 5....10....20 years. Certification is good. The more, the merrier. The TKT is a nice certification... I took the three main modules and I believe it's good to take the three, they assess different types of knowledge.

WHICH IS SUITABLE FOR A TEACHER ?CELTA or TKT
Both of them are.
One is a course and the other is a test.
One assesses your knowledge, the other teaches you how to do teach better.
Both are recognized worldwide.

Hi! Suggest some books for lessons planning.
I don't usually use a specific book to plan my lessons. I usually use the teacher's guide offered by the book/publisher/school and I adapt from it.
However, if I find any interesting book about this subject I share it with you for sure!

It is not difficult to be interested in both CELTA and TKT. But, I will not want to concentrate on both CELTA and TKT.
I hope I will not fail both CELTA and TKT.
You won't. I'm sure. One is a complement for the other. Are you doing both together or did you decide to go each at a time?
