It's special to me, that's for sure. I don't have a group of girlfriends here. I have a few amazing long time friends but they live very far away. My life has been all about my four kids through the years and health issues have gotten in the way of socializing how I used to. This is my way of staying connected with wonderful women. I love it!

I have a lot of expensive lipsticks and it’s hard to remove the stain. I found that Ponds the old-fashioned, cold cream, make- up remover works excellent on removing lipstick stain and make-up. I was really surprised with the old fashion cold cream ponds. It’s also gentle on the lips helps moisturize the skin.
That's a great tip! I remember using Noxema to remove my makeup when I was a teenager.
Same here! I started using ponds and it worked way better that the other stuff I was using to take my makeup, plus it feels very hydrating after

You looked great in so many of those colors. I am a big fan of MAC lipstick, particularly the satin and frost formulations .
I love them too. I rarely bought from another brand for years. I love the new formula. It will last longer than the satin formula but they're still very comfortable.
All the orange based lipsticks looked best on you!

I'm surprised that I liked most of them. Candy Yum Yum was a little crazy and so was the Caviar for me. Caviar would be beautiful on darker skin toned women and for the young goth girls.🤗

I'm good. I'm the same really. My eye seems to be stronger but as the day goes on, it seems to take more effort. It's hard to explain. It's all moving but I can feel the left side of my face. It's more work to smile on that side. It's a sedentary life these days and I hate it. Thank goodness I have this. I would be going crazy.

I like Candy Yum Yum but it's definitely more tricky to pull off. Neons somehow go w my cool green eyes and dark hair but I need to be really careful with my base being very fair. What I found working IMO is being strategic w contour, bronzer and highlighter to counteract the colours washing me out
That's exactly who this colour is for. Your colouring would be beautiful with Candy Yum Yum. I bet it makes your skin look amazing.
I knew Ruby Woo would be your vibe !! Love that one on you and most of them are awesome on you....with Ruby Woo maybe add thin black eyeliner for a classic look would be gorgeous on you ! You could tone down the very bright neon colored one witb gloss and make it look so good on you because i think bright corals look great on you since to me you look like a golden complextion...do you like wearing real bright neon pinks ? Would look great i think. And the mauve lipsticks make your eye color look awesome too.
Thank you! That's a great suggestion with the darker liner. I need to try that. I feel like my tastes are changing these days. I was surprised how much I liked some of the colours. I usually choose mauve toned shades but this lipstick swatch session made me love some colours that I'm not used to.
I love red so much. It's a higher maintenance shade so I don't wear it as often but it's one of my favourite colours to wear.
I tried whirl at store today & i fall in love!very beautiful my kind of shade muted rosey brown nude it truly has little bit of everything and suits my face which slightly cooler in undertone !i didn’t get it because i have so many lip products 😅but i want to buy it!
You have more will powder than I do, Joy. I have to declutter some of my lipsticks and lip glosses. I have so many but I also know the colours I tend to grab more than others. Now you know though. Maybe it can be a birthday gift to yourself.

Hi Julie! Oh my goodness those colors are BEAUTIFUL!! You look so good in all of those shades. I keep missing your lives lately, I’ve been so exhausted in the evening but this Thursday I’ll have a coffee at 3:00 lol I’m telling you menopause is killing me! Between hot flashes and now feeling exhausted I’m so over it!! The joys of being a 51 yr old woman lol!!
I'll be live again Thursday night but I totally get it. Have you started HRT at all? My levels are all sorted out now, thank goodness. It's miserable going through the changes of menopause. My nurse practitioner has all my levels where they should be and it's helped me immensely. I can sleep and I rarely get a hot flash.
I'm not saying you should or shouldn't by the way.

@@JulieMeikle hi Julie! Everything went great was looked after very well in Istanbul. I caught a cold the day after surgeries and then got a chest infection which kicked my asthma off!. We stayed in a cottage after returning home as our neighbours have noisy dogs and are always doing something, we have to move somehow!. Had great peaceful time very tranquil and secluded in nature. Feeling a lot better slowly but surely and eyes and nose looking great!. 😊 x I hope you’re well?. Will e-mail when healing is mostly complete but for nose it’s upto a year for full results x🙏🥰

@@JulieMeikle yes thankfully not that!. Only aching was when I came around from anaesthetic I was very nauseous and deep aching in nose but got iv morphine and anti sickness. Fine after that though, looked a lot worse days 2-5 but wasn’t in pain though. Apartment was 5* and was amazing and the care of all staff and my ent surgeon was amazing. Will get my table photos in around a week, before and after they finished. Such a massive change and feel much more confident. Looking forward to being able to wear winged eyeliner too Julie!. Oh by the way, I know you love spray tan and I’ve just tried the new coco and Eve face and neck spray in red bottle and it’s fabulous!. I looked so pasty as obviously no make up just lippy!.

Oh, and I realized after that the Retro Mattes are still available in 7 shades. Some people were disappointed the formula changed. I'm not because this one is more comfortable but I totally understand there's a place for very matte formulas.

You're very welcome. This was so fun for me to do. I find MAC is changing for the better these days. For the longest time, I feel they became a little too comfortable. I love the new formula. The Connect in Colour eyeshadow palettes are beautiful and their new Serumizer is one of my favourite products to prep my skin.
I swatched the old formula beside the new formula in my last livestream. I compared Ruby Woo, Twig & Twig Twist, Sin, Honeylove, and ....I can't remember the other ones. There's barely a difference when they're side by side but they glide on easier and feel more comfortable for sure.

You know the black lipstick, the one you tried on last? You could use that color (just a touch of that) to mix in the other colors you thought were too pale or light. It would look so beautiful.
Personally, I use a touch of very dark lipsticks to mix lipsticks that are too pale for me and the final outcome is so elegantly beautiful!

I don't have an old one to compare. I wish I did. I know some of the new colours are slightly different but they all have the same tones. I hope that helps.

OOH, good question. I took a look on MAC's website It says that Stripdown is the perfect match. ABH - Deep Taupe - (soft beige brown) looks like it would be a good one too. You could try a liner that's a touch darker too. That would be cool! What lipliners do you already own?
Maybe I missed it but I didn't see the coral shades Flamingo and No coral-action? I like Forever Curious and Captive Audience, they look like beautiful mid tone colours for people who don't like reds but want to wear something chic /dressed up

I would say they're lightweight. They don't feel as waxy as the original. I'm not sure if "waxy" is the right description.🤷♀️
Great video! You’re so beautiful! You seem to have a peachy undertone like me . But I’m confused about my undertone. What color do you deem your undertone to be ? I’m a natural redhead and have the HARDEST time with lipstick colors . Always too orangey or magenta looking . Whirl looks good on me . Looks amazing on you ! But it looks darker on you than me . I’ve not tried the new formula. I find the original formula drying. But, whirl manages to look like my lips, but better if I apply at this right. I’m hoping the new formula is a little bit less drying. If it is, I’m going to splurge on a new one. I wish they had the mini version of whirl in the new formula. It takes me years to finish a lipstick because I dab it on and use such a tiny amount. Plus , I have small lips and love the smaller bullet size for precision. Anyway, thank you so much ❤

I didn't notice any at all, Cecilia. Let me go smell one just to be sure. Ok, there's a very slight pleasant smell just like the original lipsticks. Hardly noticeable.

I have three old formula mac matte lipsticks, I like the shades, that vanilla smell and it doesn't dry my lips. The only thing that I quite dislike is that I feel them on my lips so much. What about these lipsticks?

That's a good question. I wouldn't say so, no. They're not as long lasting as their Retro Matte Formula or the new MAC Locked Kissed. That formula doesn't move.

It reminds me of Morticia on the Adams Family (dating myself)! I’m not sure that would look flattering on anyone! Halloween shade to be sure! I love how you took the shades that weren’t your favorite and made them work with that lipliner trick! Put that one on and give your hubby a great big sloppy kiss so it transfers to his mouth! Then march him to the mirror to get his reaction! I do that just to get a rise out of my husband! I do favor the satin formula of MAC lipsticks because of my abundant lip lines! 🫶🏼. I just checked, Sandra and they have Retro Matte. They have 7 shades. Ruby Woo, Relentlessly Red, Runaway Hit, Flat Out Fabulous, All Fired Up, Bronx, Dangerous. I'm glad I looked that up. Now I know too.
They also have the Locked Kiss 24 hr Lipstick and Viva Glam lipsticks.

I did show them, Mary. The lipsticks I set aside were sent to me but since I already bought three colours, I gave the brand new lipsticks away. I tried on the lipsticks I had already used.🤗
