Really good job. But it doesn't do justice to watching them live at Preservation Hall in New Orleans. Only $10 a person every Sat and some Sundays/Fridays from 8pm-11pm. And no, I'm not their marketing manager.. :) ...I saw them live this past weekend and the band they featured (differs each day) was great!
Hindustan, where we stopped our tired caravan, Hindustan, where the painted peacock proudly spreads his fan, Hindustan, where the purple sun bird flashes across the sand, Hindustan, where I met her hand and the world began. Composed by Oliver Wallace and Harold Weeks in 1917 or 1918, not a Hindustani song, but a standard for trad jazz-bands.
wonderful, rich, swinging music, what you hear when these cats play is a lifetime of honing their art... always think this music should be heard in a club environment, not concert hall. if i'd had a few drinks and this band struck up, i'd be on my feet dancing like a fool
There's nothing worse than people tapping their hands when they should be dancing! Get up and dance people, dance, dance! I promise Louis Armstrong i'll dance next time time i'm in such a situation.
They're not taking this song seriously. It has three keys, two minor and one major. They're playing only the major section, which is the least interesting.
Trumpet:John Brunious Jr
Saxophone:Ernest "Doc" Watson
Trombone:Lucien Barbarin
Piano:Rickie Monie
Banjo:Carl LeBlanc
Bass:Walter Payton Jr

Thank you
Missed these wonderful musicians dearly. They are forever the very best!👍🤗

There should have been a huge dance floor in the centre of the hall. You can't listen to this kind of music sitting down!
Carl pinnin’ down that rhythm.

They're all good, of course. But this bass man steals the show with his brilliant short solo. What's his name?
Walter Payton on Bass. Nicholas Payton's Father. DEC. a few years ago
I love the bass solo too!
The old exotic combined the whole world into one place that wasn't here ;) Not that here is bad, this is just pictoresque !
Man those cats can Play!!!
At first glance of the thumbnail, I was think that it's Borat playing the banjo.
@IndependentGeorge76
I wouldn't need the drinks. My toe would already be tappin' and I'd try to hop up with 'em on my acoustic guitar.
how are some of the people in that audience just sitting still, are they alive, or are they deaf?
Oliver Wallace composition.
I am mix with Asian black and Mexicn and I play trumpet

Well, it's racism as well.
