    The battery life is amazing. Good audio. The only issue is the noise isolation. In a noisy environment, the sound suffers.

      So you don't like these as travel headphones? No isolation at the airport or while commuting?

    • @jimijackson
      @jimijackson 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@beingsolo80 yeah...for me it's great mainly for home use. I purchased the Bose ultra as a replacement. The noise cancelling is amazing. The audio isn't as bassy as say the sony xm3/4 etc...but the controls are much better. I loathe touch controls on the Sony's. The ultras have a diff style of touch for the volume that works better. Sony's I'd end up accidentally skipping or pausing clips I'd be watching.
      As for the audio technica...they're still a good option as cheap long lasting headphones but you'll need to put the volume up in busy places.
      I'd say go with the Bose ultra. In immersion mode it's peaceful hehe
      (Oh and the apple airpods max are just way too heavy. Love their build quality, but it's just bulky. They needed to use lighter materials)

    Thank you for the review it helped me a lot!
    I use this music to test headphones:
    th-cam.com/video/11Zce9gmjIA/w-d-xo.html
    It has low bass, vocal and high sounds as well. If you guys have good quality songs to test headphones do not hesitate to share! 🙂
    Other song is Queen - Breakthrou but I only use to test if the bass is good enough (there is a real low bass guitar chord in it and on shitty headphones I can not even hear that sound).

      the M50X sounds closer to the original M50 with a bit of added clarity/highs. Its increased clarity due to the drivers and its V-shaped "musical" sound signature has pros and cons: pros being increased clarity at the expense of bad files sounding bad especially pop music. If you are using MP3s of pop music off the Internet you are better off with the flatter and less-revealing M40X. Meanwhile, if you have higher-quality files, especially ones with strings, female vocals, and better-mastered music, the M50X will invigorate your desire and search for those tiny little details. The M70X pushes even further with a flat version of the M50X. Pop music really dies but piano, strings, orchestra, and even vintage music come alive. Those normally sound like transistor radio music on the M40X but they sound live with the M70X.
      For me, the M50X is my go to as it has a fun-sounding V-signature that is equally good on pop, EDM, strings, vocals, orchestra, and vintage music without sacrificing any one kind of genre completely so long as the music files are good and you have a great DAC like the AudioQuest Dragonfly.
      The M40X here is only now relagated to listening to pop-music and the M70X when I need to hear more from strings/piano vs the M50X. The FIIO BTA10 bluetooth adapter kind of makes it sound like an M40X though with the missing clarity, highs, and width.
      If you think the M50X is crap, I can recommend you try them again with a good DAC/amp (like the Dragonfly) and some non-pop music from CDs or FLACs. If you don't do those, then I can understand how the M50X (can) make pop music or low-quality files sound bad.

      For me though, the M20X/M30X sounds a bit too muddied. Like listening through a wall compared to the M50X. Sounds a bit much like their street monitors series. TBF the M30X fared better when I used 128kbit pop music MP3s in my built-in DAC compared to my M50X. But the M30X fails for any sort of clarity when female vocals or strings are prominent in the music.
      For people looking to buy some first budget monitors, I steer them away from the M20X/M30X into something comparable but way cheaper like the OneOdio Pro10. For cheap, I can describe that one as sounding like the M40X/M50X combined with (some) muddiness in the M30X. A very nice first set for anyone starting out. Surprisingly, the sound also scales up when used with a good DAC (like the M40X/50X).
