It's really a running theme throughout all of Marvel's heroes: it's not amazing feats that make a hero, but a good heart. I think that was Stan Lee's underlying message throughout all of Marvel's titles. Even the ones that seem to be less motivated by doing the right thing eventually come around to that principle.

I think the reason why they didn’t catch on to his plans of building the Iron Man suit is because, when he laid down the paper he smoothed it out and it was three sheets of paper, so I think he built it in sections to not raise suspicion, like at different times
Iron Man 1 will forever be one of my favorite movies in the franchise, just so many creativity it had with Robert's performance and how satisfying the suit ups were
I was 10 years old when this came out. My family was so excited after the trailers. We had no idea what would come after this. It's the greatest experiment in movie history. People like Martin Scorsese don't understand what makes these movies so good. Before this, the longest story in a set of movies was like Star Trek or Star Wars. Nobody had ever seen a continuous storyline like these movies. And I can't wait to go on the rest of this journey with you. Just remember the timeline of these releases. You get to watch these as fast as you want. We waited years for these movies. Iron man was 2008 and captain America was 2011.
The cheeseburger scene is a nod to RDJ’s real life battle with drugs. One day he had a Burger King cheeseburger. It was so disgusting to him that it actually made come to his senses. He got rid of his drugs, gradually rebuilt himself, and now he’s Iron Man.
Yesin is lowkeye MVP for the MCU. The change from, "peace yeah great, be out of a job with peace." To "dont waste your life" which sparked a motivation in Tony that caries across so many movies. What a brilliant call to action for our main hero. I also love the Roddy moment on the plane, you dont have to be like me but you can be more. Also it is fun to see, Jarvis being a snarky AI before it was the real world big deal
The line about “including occasionally taking out the trash.” And “I got caught doing a piece on vanity affair” are some of the most subtle jabs and most satisfying lines in the MCU. Iron Man 1 will always be one of my fave movies. I loved RDJ from his early roles but forgot about him. Everyone talked crap about his casting and how he was washed up etc. But he took the role of Tony Stark and ran with it. It was one of the best casting choices ever. Also it’s ironic that RDJ and Tony Stark have addiction issues and they overcome them. They don’t go into the details that much in the MCU and instead it’s his change from weapons/arms manufacture to super hero savior. Sorry I can go on about Iron Man for days. He was my fave super hero. Ever one talks about how he was B list at best but to me the stories involving Iron Man and Tony were some of the best. Love your reactions. I’m watching them in order of how they appear on my feed. Hahah😂
"The Avenger Initiative" Second biggest geek out in a Marvel film. Remember, back in 2008 the idea of a "shared universe" was inconceivable, we had no reason to believe Iron Man wasn't going to be a "one-off" the fact there was more to this world than just Tony Stark was mind-blowing at the time
There is great commentary by Jeff Bridges. Bridges was apparently really stressed out during this production, because he really wants to have everything he needs so he can nail his performance, but the scripts for each day were literally being cobbled together the night before, just a complete fly-by-the-pants production. But then Bridges took a deep breath, and shifted his context to this being an "indy" film, and that let him relax and finish the film with proper Zen.
That's probably why he likes the Cohen Brothers. According to George Clooney, the Cohens NEVER change the script. What's on paper is what they film. And however long they say the movie will take to film, that's how long it takes to film. So actors know when they're available.
@@thelionsshare6668 To be fair when you hire someone like RDJ, they must have changed a lot of the script to fit perfectly with how RDJ was portraying him
She noticed the open toe heels at 32:40, no guy would even blink at that. She meant a Gucci, Armani $$$uit. Cause, y'know "she's a female" and us Toxic males can't stand female leads in movies or females in our hobby circles.🙄 😂
On that note we are OVERDUE for an 'Iron Woman' her-o movie. No Riri is not it. "The heroine will have extra Iron in her body causing her to NOT have bone density issues as she ages and other associated health problems. She may have the ability to pass it on to other select females. That's it, that will be the character, a step up from a BIG FIST." [Notes from the current woke writing staff at Disney]
As a long-time Marvel comics reader/fan, you won't believe how absolutely thrilled I was when Fury said "Avengers Initiative". My long years of waiting to see my favourite characters on the big screen was coming to an end! Excelsior!
Take it from someone who has experienced it. 15 minutes in a combat situation can seem like an eternity. More than you can imagine can happen in 15 minutes.
@@TheGoIsWin21 I'm not sure if it is time itself or if it is more something our minds do considering how little of our mind people actually use who knows what it's capable of. Maybe indeed stressful scenarios it slows things down. I don't know if that's the case I just know it's much longer than the time that passes.
@@russellwood8750 I mean time is just a theoretical concept that we use to measure how we perceive change if you want to get all pedantic about it. It's because of the chemical soup dumped into your brain during a high stress experience. The adrenaline and everything else means that your perceptions of your surroundings are tweaked. You're perceiving time slower because the part of your brain that is experiencing it's environment is slowed down, but it also feels rapid fire because the part that's making decisions and processing information is in overdrive.
It's weird to see how different this is from later MCU movies. More grounded technology, the more subtle sense of humor, action scenes less based on CGI and green screens
So many compare this to the first Captain America and argue which is best, but I like them both equally for different reasons. The origin story for each fit them so well, the same with Thor. Those three will probably always be my favorites of the MCU films in equal measure. I really hope casting got a raise for their picks for these films cause they were spot on.
The transition from the Vietnam War origin in the original 1963 comic to Afghanistan in the MCU was pretty amazing. That's when I knew the MCU might be what we'd all been waiting for... or as "Thor" might put it, "It was then we knew that the Cinematic Universe of Mar-Vell was that for which we had long (bean) waiting."
Jax, I am so excited to follow you through your MCU journey! You are indeed in tune with these movies. Fun fact: the assistant who Stane yells "Tony Stark built this in a cave!" at is the actor who played Ralphie in "A Christmas Story"....and if you've never seen that, it needs to be on your list. As I told you on your Captain America reaction thread, if you keep watching MCU movies and using memes from The Office, I'll be here! 😊
I think one of the greatest things in each of the best entries of the MCU is the little insightful touches that were included. When you say you think they're cute together, I've seen it said about that scene so many times. And it's with the juxtaposition of him seeming like he just didn't care to remember, given prior scenes, but him genuinely softening and lighting up when he asked her what she got herself that totally subverts it. Like when she later says he wouldn't remember how to tie his shoes without her... In this situation it's kind of only slightly hyperbole. He's so involved in so many huge things and constantly distracted that he forgets to do things for himself, let alone remember other things he's even supposed to be involved in. He probably knows her birthdate by heart, and instead just didn't actually know what day that "today" was. And she knew that, too.
Fun easter eggs for long time Iron Man fans: When Tony is hanging onto the bottom of the jet and calls Rhodey, Rhodey's ring tone is the theme song from the 1966 Iron man cartoon. In the ending press conference, the "bodyguard" cover story is a reference to the Iron Man comics, where that was indeed the excuse used to keep Tony's identity as Iron Man secret (and it was secret for a loooong time). When Rhodey looks at the unfinished Iron Man suit, and says "Next time," it's both foreshadowing, and a comic reference, as Rhodey would occasionally don the suit to cover for Tony, either to have the suit and Tony be able to been seen together to sell the bodyguard excuse, or during one of Tony's several relapses into alcoholism.
I gotta say, I watch a lot of film critique videos (not a big socialite...lol) and yours are a breath of fresh air. You don't try and pretend that you haven't seen something if you have and your reactions and commentary are spot on. Also, your smile is one of the most genuine I've seen (not just on TH-cam). You seem to really enjoy this and it shows. Thank you for being so refreshing! Can't wait for the next one.
Before this film, Iron Man wasn't exactly the most well known Marvel character outside of comic readers. The folks at Marvel really took a gamble on this film and Robert Downey Jr considering his past behavior and reputation. Marvel also took a gamble on Guardians Of the Galaxy.
Loved your reaction to this movie, Jax! It's always a joy to see people start their journey in the MCU, something I've enjoyed since it started. I didn't actually get to watch "Iron Man" at the theater, but I can only imagine how audiences stirred at the mention of S.H.I.E.L.D., then the appearance of Nick Fury, and then the final words of the film: "the Avenger Initiative". I know it was a big surprise to me, since I had no idea that Marvel was planning anything of the sort. Here's looking forward to all the fun surprises coming your way.
Tony publicly revealing that he is Iron Man was actually improvised by Robert Downey Jr. on set. The script didn't have a lot of dialogue written because it focused more on the story and action, so a lot of the dialogue is ad-libbed by the actors
The scientist that Stane yells at, stating "Tony Stark was able to build this in a cave! With a box of scraps!" is Peter Billingsley, AKA "the kid from A Christmas Story". He was also a producer on this movie!
Without Yinsen the MCU either never happens or has a very, very different direction. It's kind of fun to go back and consider so many possible outcomes. Great post, J. Cheers.
Not true. Fury was already working on the Avenger Initiative, would have found Steve, Banner exists along with Nat, Clint, Thor. The MCU was supposed to start with 2 films of Captain America set in the War period but legal battles with the Kirby Estate prevented that, so they had go with Ironman instead. This is why CATFA feels rushed in the 2nd half, because it was. So you see, the MCU continued even without Dr. Erkstein/Steve as planned(we need a plan). The same would have happened with Yinsen/Stark(I have a plan, attack).
I love the line from Nick Fury at the end. "You've become part of a bigger universe, you just don't know it yet." More prophetic than anyone would have imagined at the time.
Yay, another reaction adventure into the Marvel world. I needed this. Thanks so much, Jax! And, you're a cinephile who's into so many universes. The Office. Harry Potter. Disney. And, even The Mindy Project, of all things?! I'm so glad to be revisiting all of Marvel again. And, you really know your actors. Wish I had a movie buddy like you here. You've made even Iron-Man 3 enjoyable. Big thanks!!
And THAT's the beginning of Tony Stark's story arc, which has got to be one of the best arcs in the history of movies that carry a character through several films. As for seeing the movies in "chronological order," one of the things about film is that they often hop all over the timeline in even a single movie. The Cap movie you saw, for instance, started in the present, then moved to the past, then back to the present. You'll see that a lot. But the overall story of the MCU was written as they went along, so it makes more sense to go in release order.
“Iron Man is supposed to win or did you not read the script” 😅… Great reaction to this movie, and I can’t wait to see you continue on this MCU journey 🤠
I would kill for a full length Patreon of this journey through the MCU! Pleeeeeease!!!!! You're my new favorite reactor, I love your energy and infectious laugh!
Hands down my favourite Marvel movie, just because they hit so many strides perfectly. I was watching your reaction and thinking "okay I'll stay until he builds the Mark 1, then I'll skip to the end" and then "okay until he's rescued, then skip to the end," and before I knew it, I watched the whole thing. Love your reaction! Btw I kept wanting to skip to the end because the ending of this is one of my favourite movie endings ever, it's between this and Death Proof. This movie totally blew me away in the theatre - and then I had to wait for FOUR YEARS for The Avengers! Also one of the funnier things one of my friends said while watching this "Is anyone else getting turned on? Is it just me?"
Love your reactions! Your comments and questions are very smart and I like your analyses of various situations and characters. Keep it up!! Looking forward to the rest of your MCU reactions (and non-MCU too).
10 rings reference to Shang Chi? How did I not notice before? It's absolutely INSANE how far in advance these writers thought while writing the scripts!!
In the 1960s comics Iron Man's main arch enemy was the Mandarin he was an old Chinese man (stereotypically a Fu Man Chu looking dude), he wore 10 rings on his fingers, each providing a different power and was head of a vast criminal organization.
No, they didn't. They picked stuff at random from the comics, and most of it never went anywhere. The 10 rings was completely screwed up in this. That's why it's retconned first in a "Marvel one-off" ("Long Live the King" on TH-cam), then later retconned further in Shang-Chi. Which is weird , because they already had it all in the comic books from the 60's! In the MCU they just throw a ton of references at the wall in every movie, to see what sticks. Like the Infinity Gauntlet in Thor 1.
You are my favourite new reactor! You're always smiling and you have such a beautiful smile! You're absolutely GORGEOUS! I look forward to seeing your next videos!
So far I'm really enjoying reactions and commentary the most out of all the people I've watched and really can't wait to see more from you ms. Jax. I am also a fan of the meme edits you put on the screen for certain scenes and of how drop dead gorgeous you are.

I've seen this movie so many times and watched people react to this movie so many times, and I just realized that Tony executed the first "Superhero landing" in the MCU. 22:54
You are sooooo smart and savvy to abide by the recommendations to watch these in release order. It is what Marvel intended and we should take a bended knee to the Marvel wisdom Lol!
Your reactions are wonderful. I love that you dont overtalk the movie, its so refreshing! And the fact that you are gorgeous with a perfect smile is a fun bonus!
The thing that really messes up the watch order if you try going chronologically is the post credit scenes! Watching Captain Marvel second would never work because the post credit scene moves directly into Endgame.
YAY! A new Marvel fan! You'll love this journey! I can't say every single one is awesome... but most are! And it is so much fun to see all of these interactions! May I also mention you alternate between the spiderman and x-men stuff too? Those are previous marvel IP, and there are easter eggs that you would like. Hell... you could do an MCU, SM, XM, MCU, SM, XM, etc, and you would be good. It would be a great way to catch up, while staying current, and making this reaction series last longer (trust me, you want it to last longer, cause once your first time is done, its done!)

Jax I've seen a couple of your reactions now and I think I found one of my favourites, too watch your face and some of your chat is great, just subcribed, got to be worth it. All the best from the UK.
One of the details I love from this movie is both Tony and Rhodey are MIT grads and still wear their MIT class rings (a.k.a. "brass rats"). Graduating MIT is pretty hard and grads are justifiably proud. The MIT ring is distinctive because it doesn't have a stone and features the MIT mascot, a beaver, on the face.
The reason he is such a loved character because, he embraces his mistakes each and every time and learns ways to overcome them... And that's how's life!!❤❤❤
Great reaction to an awesome opening chapter to the Avengers saga! The thing I really love about this saga is watching the characters change as the movies go along. Both Tony and Steve Rogers change in significant ways as the journey continues, and it is so well done. The problem with a lot of series is that the lead is exactly the same throughout, which makes them end up being dull and uninteresting. Friends of mine disliked that about the Buffy TV series: they felt that she was exactly the same character who never changed and became boring as a result. Yinsen's final line about joining his family still tears me up, and it makes Tony's desire to not only destroy the villains but keep the families intact when he first goes back to the Middle East all the more important. The boy hugging his father after Iron Man leaves is so touching too. What Yinsen never got to have. 😞 I also liked that they kept the original origin story for Iron Man the same, down to the fellow captive sacrificing himself to give Tony the time he needed. They just updated it from the Vietnam War era to the Gulf War era. Looking forward to more Marvel with Jax!
You're only the second reactor I've seen who worried about what happened to Rhodey when Tony was captured. I love that. I wonder if Rhodey blamed himself for this, since he was the official liaison and he let Tony go without him. Even though, as you note, it probably saved Rhodey's life. (That poor "Holy God, you're a woman!" driver. Sigh.) That bit where Obadiah plays the piano is a call-back to Jeff Bridges's role in "The Fabulous Baker Boys", for which he and brother Beau both learned to play the piano. The movie paid off for Jeff, too…being part of big smash like this probably helped get him noticed in "Crazy Heart" the next year, where he finally won his Oscar, after having been nominated four times previously. (Gwyneth Paltrow and Terence Howard already had Oscars of their own, but RDJ had only been nominated, as well.) Most reactors are shocked that Tony's "I wouldn't mind losing a few [hours of sleep] with you" actually works on Christine, but hey, when you're Tony Stark, a lot of lines will work. I like that you didn't want Christine to do it, giving her agency, but personally I'm thinking I'd do the same thing. How many times would you get that sort of chance? In fact, Christine is kind of my hero in this film. Even when Tony and Pepper kick her to the curb, she keeps on investigating and pushes him to do something about the weapons in Golmira. Her refusal to buy the SHIELD-created cover story is what pushes Tony to come out as Iron Man, and she's the only one at the conference who doesn't jump up in shock, calmly thinking things through. You go, Christine. BTW, the male reporter in the press conference scenes is played by Patrick O'Connell, whom you've never heard of, but who is better known these days as Billie Eilish's dad. (Billie was 6 years old when this was released. How the time flies…)
Loving your reactions Jax. Subbed. Can't wait to follow you on this Marvel journey. And yes, release order is best. End Credit scenes add to the journey but in timeline order can drop some spoilers. I'm sure Tony has robots to cleanup his messes that Pepper doesn't.
I liked your reaction. This is my favorite MCU movie, hands-down, so I always like seeing people get into it. I have a problem with Steve Rogers--he's arrogant, self-centered, and prone to violence over anything else. There were dozens of good, honorable ways to help the war effort, but no--only going over and killing Nazis would do. I realize he _said_ he doesn't like killing anyone, but he was either lying to Erskine or to himself. Anyone tries to talk to him about changing his mind, he puts on that condescending "Aw shucks" persona and does whatever he wants to do, regardless of what anyone else says. Tony is flawed; he starts out flawed, and he doesn't just magically become a better person. He has an arc over the entire MCU; we see him grow and change as a person. That makes him infinitely more interesting to me than Steve, and I dare say a much better-written character, too.
Hey there! Loved to see your genuine reaction. And. I know this may sound weird but I definitely wanted to praise your pronunciation. As a non native english speaker, I was able to perfectly understand everything you said, so... kudos! And keep going, the best is yet to come (but this was a geat sample 😊)
As for the cave, the camera doesn't cover the whole space, they spent a lot of time off camera. They waited to assemble the components (as represented by the 3 separate pages) of the suit until the end. This took many weeks. It's not as unlikely if you consider.
Hey, Jacqueline! FIVE TIPS: 1. Watch the credits all the way through so you don't miss END-CREDIT SCENES! You nailed this one right off! 2. Point out Marvel Universe co-creator STAN LEE! Stan cameos in most Marvel movies like Hitchcock and it's fun to spot him! He was the dapper elderly gent mistaken for Hugh Hefner by Tony on the red carpet! 3. Include the ONE-SHOTS! There are five shorts called One-Shots associated with five of the movies in Phase 1. They are canonical and available on DP. The one paired with "Captain America: The First Avenger" is the Agent Carter One-Shot which can alternatively be seen as a coda to the first 8-episode Season of the "Agent Carter" series. 4. Take breaks to incorporate NON-MCU Marvel movies and series as they, too, get merged into the MCU narrative. These include 13 X-Men movies, 6 Spider-Man movies, 2 Venom movies, 1 Hulk movie and Netflix Daredevil. 5. If you know very little about the Hulk, I highly recommend seeing Ang Lee's 2003 "Hulk" as it covers the ORIGIN of the Hulk whereas the MCU film doesn't. The movie is NON-CANON pre-dating the MCU but it has a great cast, director, score and comic accurate sequences seen in no other MCU film in which the Hulk appears. It even ENDS where the MCU "Incredible Hulk" BEGINS!!! It was supposed to be the STARTING POINT for the MCU initially but it failed to gain traction at the box office because audiences were not accustomed to a serious approach to superhero films at the time. Ang Lee is an Oscar-winning director responsible for such films as "Eat Drink Man Woman", "Sense and Sensibility", "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", "Ride with the Devil", "Brokeback Mountain", "Life of Pi" and "Gemini Man". RECOMMENDED SEQUENCE FOR PHASE 1: 0. (HULK (2003)) [OPTIONAL proto-MCU Hulk origin] 1. IRON MAN 2. IRON MAN 2 + A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer One-Shot 3. THE INCREDIBLE HULK + The Consultant One-Shot 4. THOR 5. CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER + Agent Carter One-Shot 6. THE AVENGERS + Item 47 One-Shot 7. (Agent Carter: Season 1 + Agent Carter One-Shot) [OPTIONAL Interphase Interlude]
I disageee adding the 2003 Hulk during this journey . . . . it is not at all part of the MCU though being Marvel. The Eward Norton version does a decent exposition in the beginning credits. You might as well suggest she watch the original TV series. It isn't needed. Don't complicate this . . . . she only really needs to watch the movies as released with some exceptions . . . . the Spidermans particularly.
@@fullmoonprepping4024 You are correct that the film is non-canon which I state explicitly. Those viewers who know nothing of the origin of the Hulk are often perplexed by the montage opening which is more of an adaptation of the TV show origin anyway. The Ang Lee film was supposed to be the MCU starting point but was neglected due to poor box office as audiences were not used to psychological content in their superhero movies. The film has great merit, the multiple attributes stated above, more comic accuracy than any other Hulk appearance and has risen in estimation among Marvel fans. Many choose to include it in their head canon. The MCU film was a soft reboot that actually begins where the Ang Lee film ends. The choice to see it is totally optional and not at all harmful. As for the other non-MCU films, almost everyone who begins this journey winds up seeing the X-Men movies, the Spider-Man films and Netflix Marvel. The two Venom movies actually do intersect with the MCU! Of course, all this content is purely optional but highly recommended not to mention thoroughly entertaining!
Wow! You have control issues. You're trying to hand out assignments. The Hulk is a horrible movie. So why even recommend/assign a horrible movie? Horrible movie reactions can kill a channel. The one offs are completely unnecessary. (I didn't read your whole novel of a comment, so I don't know what else your recommended/assigned that's also unnecessary.) Not to mention you're recommending/assigning stuff she's all ready said she's going to do. She's already pointed out Stan Lee. She's already said she's going to watch the end credit scenes. Stop with your control issues. It's not your job to schedule her channel.
@@jkhoover I have only provided information, advice and options. It is your opinion that "Hulk" is a horrible film but that opinion is not shared by everyone. I'm just offering helpful advice. All channel decisions are made by the reactor. Additionally, one should not make comments about other people's statements unless you read it through fully.
I love watching reactors take the MCU journey. Iron Man kicked off the MCU. Glad I stumbled onto your channel!
yep the movie that really started it all, and started it off with a home run right at the start.
As long as they don't watch anything after Phase 3 💀
Yesin is lowkeye MVP for the MCU. The change from, "peace yeah great, be out of a job with peace." To "dont waste your life" which sparked a motivation in Tony that caries across so many movies. What a brilliant call to action for our main hero. I also love the Roddy moment on the plane, you dont have to be like me but you can be more.
Also it is fun to see, Jarvis being a snarky AI before it was the real world big deal
"I'm here to talk to you about the Avenger Initiative." Never had ten words energized movie-going audiences more.
It must have been so exciting in the theaters!
Being a child of the 60's my freak-out cemented my reputation as a self-professed nerd.
At the time, I didn’t think they’d be able to pull it off. Boy was I way off.
JAX, should also pull up Agent Couslon on the way to Thor's Hammer as well.
The Dude abides.
That's probably why he likes the Cohen Brothers. According to George Clooney, the Cohens NEVER change the script. What's on paper is what they film. And however long they say the movie will take to film, that's how long it takes to film. So actors know when they're available.
@@thelionsshare6668 To be fair when you hire someone like RDJ, they must have changed a lot of the script to fit perfectly with how RDJ was portraying him
It's crazy how people improvising the script basically wrote the MCU's personality.
I didn't know that!
29:48 "He needs a suit" - That was awesome to hear.
She noticed the open toe heels at 32:40, no guy would even blink at that.
She meant a Gucci, Armani $$$uit.
Cause, y'know "she's a female" and us Toxic males can't stand female leads in movies or females in our hobby circles.🙄
😂
On that note we are OVERDUE for an 'Iron Woman' her-o movie.
No Riri is not it.
"The heroine will have extra Iron in her body causing her to NOT have bone density issues as she ages and other associated health problems.
She may have the ability to pass it on to other select females.
That's it, that will be the character, a step up from a BIG FIST."
[Notes from the current woke writing staff at Disney]
As a long-time Marvel comics reader/fan, you won't believe how absolutely thrilled I was when Fury said "Avengers Initiative". My long years of waiting to see my favourite characters on the big screen was coming to an end!
Excelsior!
Iron Man is just amazing. Its my favorite movie from the MCU because it is self contained and everything about it is great.
Take it from someone who has experienced it. 15 minutes in a combat situation can seem like an eternity. More than you can imagine can happen in 15 minutes.
It's funny how time can move so slowly and so quickly, all at the same time.
@@TheGoIsWin21 wasn't being pedantic was just expressing how I see it.
Thanks for serving
It's weird to see how different this is from later MCU movies. More grounded technology, the more subtle sense of humor, action scenes less based on CGI and green screens
Disney ruined it all. Totally garbage.
The smile on this woman is just dazzling.
Fun easter eggs for long time Iron Man fans:
When Tony is hanging onto the bottom of the jet and calls Rhodey, Rhodey's ring tone is the theme song from the 1966 Iron man cartoon.
SO glad you're doing this in release order.
Me too!
I can’t wait for her to experience this crazy journey!
03:21 "He's a bit of an egoist" Understatment of the century😂
I gotta say, I watch a lot of film critique videos (not a big socialite...lol) and yours are a breath of fresh air. You don't try and pretend that you haven't seen something if you have and your reactions and commentary are spot on. Also, your smile is one of the most genuine I've seen (not just on TH-cam). You seem to really enjoy this and it shows. Thank you for being so refreshing! Can't wait for the next one.
That's so sweet! Thank you ❤️ This has been a really fun experience!
Awesome reactions, for an awesome movie, Jax.
Your intelligent comments, make the perfect commentary track for these movie reaction videos.
Before this film, Iron Man wasn't exactly the most well known Marvel character outside of comic readers. The folks at Marvel really took a gamble on this film and Robert Downey Jr considering his past behavior and reputation. Marvel also took a gamble on Guardians Of the Galaxy.
Ah, you are more in line with being in order of release.
Great choice. don't forget about the end credit scenes.. some of them are quite pertinent.
Oh my, I think I can't unsee this now. In the thumbnail image, Tony's thumb and a small beam of light 🤣
About time you saw this film. I am all-in when it comes to Iron Man.
Team Iron Man all the way.
That is so cool! It is the perfect last line of this movie ❤️
The scientist that Stane yells at, stating "Tony Stark was able to build this in a cave! With a box of scraps!" is Peter Billingsley, AKA "the kid from A Christmas Story". He was also a producer on this movie!
And he later factors in on Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Yay, Jax! This is going to be a fun journey. Thank you so much for letting us come with you!
Thank you so much for coming along for the ride!
It was SOOOO enjoyable re-watching "Iron Man" with You & Lamby, Jax!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Lamby and I are having a wonderful time!! ❤️🐑🎉
I remember watching this film in 2008 when it came out and just the experience of watching this film for the first time is so amazing.😁
“Iron Man is supposed to win or did you not read the script” 😅… Great reaction to this movie, and I can’t wait to see you continue on this MCU journey 🤠
Thank you! ❤️
I would kill for a full length Patreon of this journey through the MCU! Pleeeeeease!!!!! You're my new favorite reactor, I love your energy and infectious laugh!
that's what she said caught me off guard😂😂😂
Hahaha! 😂
Yeayyy I’m so excited for this journey, it’s better with watching from release order instead of timeline order
The best film of iron man. Greatness
i liked this one, thanks for your journey into the MCU and your reaction. your wall-e reaction was great 😊
Yay, release order! Thanks Jax, you're a smart gal, we look forward to this!
Love your reactions!
Your comments and questions are very smart and I like your analyses of various situations and characters.
Keep it up!!
Looking forward to the rest of your MCU reactions (and non-MCU too).
Thank you!!!
First: you are absolutely adorable lol LOVE your smile...and second: I loved your reaction to this GREAT film!
You are my favourite new reactor! You're always smiling and you have such a beautiful smile! You're absolutely GORGEOUS! I look forward to seeing your next videos!
I've never been into Marvel movies 🎬 but I love the first two Ironman films.
This was great. Thank you!
So far I'm really enjoying reactions and commentary the most out of all the people I've watched and really can't wait to see more from you ms. Jax. I am also a fan of the meme edits you put on the screen for certain scenes and of how drop dead gorgeous you are.
Thank you! 😊
Am I the only one who finds Jax's laugh intoxicating?
I love your reactions-and good thing you're watching them in the correct order. You will not be disappointed.
i love her deep throaty laugh. reminds me of a 40-year old Vegas hooker who smokes 3 packs a day.
Her laugh is amazing
I've seen this movie so many times and watched people react to this movie so many times, and I just realized that Tony executed the first "Superhero landing" in the MCU. 22:54
Close, but the timestamp is actually 22:46.
'n' I'm screaming at you :" stop guessing Jax!." lol
Youve just entered one of the most entertaining universe of all time! Welcome to Marvel, Jax!
Iron man is my favorite character. He is the heroes journey! Keep it up Jax!
Iron man is pretty incredible. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with his character.
@@reactswithjax You get little gifts in life and with all the extra noise in the world today - thanks for being brave enough to share the journey
Iron man 1 is one of the best
You are sooooo smart and savvy to abide by the recommendations to watch these in release order. It is what Marvel intended and we should take a bended knee to the Marvel wisdom Lol!
Just discovered your channel, and I've already watched these movies countless times but you're really doing it for me💪🏾
Your reactions are wonderful. I love that you dont overtalk the movie, its so refreshing!
And the fact that you are gorgeous with a perfect smile is a fun bonus!
Thank you! 😊
One of the main reasons Rhodes says next time to the extra suit is because it has no power source. He couldn't fly it if he wanted to.
I'm so glad that you are going through the MCU with us. I loved seeing the MCU movies all in theaters and look forward to seeing how you react to each of them. You have such a sweet personality.
They must have been lovely to watch in theaters. I love when you can feel everyone's excitement.
There is an entire 7 season show called Agents of Shield with Phill Coulson as lead who recruits people to find and train people with unique abilities.
The best part is he has a flying 50s Corvette
That’s not the best part. But def worth watching!
22:44 that was awesome
23:52 this scene here was so hype
25:44 😂
Jax I've seen a couple of your reactions now and I think I found one of my favourites, too watch your face and some of your chat is great, just subcribed, got to be worth it. All the best from the UK.
Thank you so much!!! I'm so glad you're enjoying my reactions! ❤️🎉❤️🎉
I'm so glad too
I have been waiting for this series, i hope you continue marvel, movies and watch it all💜💜😋
I love your reactions! Soo good
Thank you!
"The trash of which she speaks"!!! I've seen this movie 15 times and dozens of reactions and today I find out this reference!!!! 🤩
You are a really fun reactor to watch! Definitely like watching with a friend. Enjoyed the video and looking forward to the next one.
Thank you so much ❤️
The reason he is such a loved character because, he embraces his mistakes each and every time and learns ways to overcome them... And that's how's life!!❤❤❤
The best iron man movie! No doubt
I also liked that they kept the original origin story for Iron Man the same, down to the fellow captive sacrificing himself to give Tony the time he needed. They just updated it from the Vietnam War era to the Gulf War era.
Looking forward to more Marvel with Jax!
Regarding Buffy. That's a weird take by your friends, seeing how character development and redemption are huge with the reset of the cast.
Yay, another MCU pilgrim. You're in for a ride. I got to experience these in cinemas, and they were truly a once in a lifetime movie going experience.
Coulson is the man, SHIELD.
Sigh.)
That bit where Obadiah plays the piano is a call-back to Jeff Bridges's role in "The Fabulous Baker Boys", for which he and brother Beau both learned to play the piano. The movie paid off for Jeff, too…being part of big smash like this probably helped get him noticed in "Crazy Heart" the next year, where he finally won his Oscar, after having been nominated four times previously. (Gwyneth Paltrow and Terence Howard already had Oscars of their own, but RDJ had only been nominated, as well.)
Most reactors are shocked that Tony's "I wouldn't mind losing a few [hours of sleep] with you" actually works on Christine, but hey, when you're Tony Stark, a lot of lines will work.
34:18 - The reporter from Vanity Fair is the only one who stays seated when Tony gives the reveal. Such a fantastic detail.
I missed that! That is a GREAT detail!
@@reactswithjax "you are the trash of which she speaks" -- classic line.
Loving your reactions Jax. Subbed. Can't wait to follow you on this Marvel journey. And yes, release order is best. End Credit scenes add to the journey but in timeline order can drop some spoilers. I'm sure Tony has robots to cleanup his messes that Pepper doesn't.
Loved it! I can't wait till you get to Deadpool.
That makes him infinitely more interesting to me than Steve, and I dare say a much better-written character, too.
agreed
15:40 It's a reference to the "operation game" by asbro, when you remove parts of the patients without touching the edges that trigger a big buzz :D
Hey there! Loved to see your genuine reaction. And. I know this may sound weird but I definitely wanted to praise your pronunciation. As a non native english speaker, I was able to perfectly understand everything you said, so... kudos! And keep going, the best is yet to come (but this was a geat sample 😊)
Thank you! 😃
As for the cave, the camera doesn't cover the whole space, they spent a lot of time off camera. They waited to assemble the components (as represented by the 3 separate pages) of the suit until the end. This took many weeks. It's not as unlikely if you consider.
Tony also says that he was in captivity for 3 months, which gives him plenty of time to work out those little details
The MCU has its ups and downs, but the Cap movies only get better. Makes me glad they got the guys who wrote them to do Infinity War and Endgame
I am Ironman...iconic
My favorite series..... It only gets better
I'm looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds!
ok I instantly love you and lamby, subbed and starting the marvel journal now
RDJ is People's Champion...💪💪💪💪
Hey, Jacqueline!
FIVE TIPS:
RECOMMENDED SEQUENCE FOR PHASE 1:
0. (HULK (2003)) [OPTIONAL proto-MCU Hulk origin]
1. IRON MAN
2. IRON MAN 2 + A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer One-Shot
3. THE INCREDIBLE HULK + The Consultant One-Shot
4. THOR
5. CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER + Agent Carter One-Shot
6. THE AVENGERS + Item 47 One-Shot
Most MCU reactors eventually explore X-Men films, Spider-Man films, Venom films and Netflix Marvel. Some even see "Agents of SHIELD". None of this is mandatory. EVERYTHING IS OPTIONAL. I'm just offering helpful advice. All channel decisions are made by the reactor. Additionally, one should not make comments about other people's statements unless you read it through fully. How do you offer advice and information to your friends?
