Thank you for taking it easy with the Luminara slander, so many people misunderstand the moral of that episode. Barriss will not cut it as an Inquisitor, she was unique in her fall, not craving more power or attachment but due to cognitive dissonance between her urge to live up to the moral standards of Jedi history and what they were asked to do in the war. She saw the Empire coming before anyone else outside Sidious' circle. She'll likely do what she must to survive but I hope she leaves a trail of explosive nano-droids on her way out of the Inquisitorious base and leaves to become a village healer somewhere off the major hyperlanes.
Uh the two female citizen the one encounter by ahsoka! There’s a reason why those two female citizen dislike jedi and that’s because of barriss master! She left barriss for dead
Well an interesting point is that Bariss and her speech had not only the Grand Inquisitor affected but also Anakin. So her becoming an Inquisitor working for those two affected by her thoughts...... Honestly I want some sort of redemption arc for her would be so interesting.
Dude... I've watched MANY starwars channels, and honestly, this video is better researched and compiled than many other channels with many more subs. Keep up the great work! Yours is the first I've actually subscribed to!
Yeah I was a bit like I thought everything was good, I feel like the episodes could’ve been longer at least the normal 22 minutes or even 30. Although I feel like yeah Barris could’ve still had a redemption arc but I wish they gave her a darker tone for a while like yeah she didn’t want to but what choice did she have. That could’ve made it better for when the final episode happens where she finally breaks and finds redemption and then they could’ve did the time jump. I just feel like Star Wars doesn’t do a lot of really darker tones and stories anymore and yeah I understand that it’s because kids watch it but I wanna see some more darker things with the Inquisitors instead of them be redeemed all the time or looking like clowns when they’re supposed to be highly trained. Idk I could just be talking out my ass.
Really? I’m hoping for Barriss to successfully hunt down Luminara, and live to become the new Grand Inquisitor after he sacrifices himself fighting Kanan.
I don't think so, Barriss is angry at Luminara, Luminara is angry at Barriss. Luminara would be captured or killed by Barriss or the grand inquisitor as a test which might end up splitting her soul like Ben when he kills Han, as opposed to turning fully dark like Anakin or Dooku after each meaningful kill.
Barriss i think lived in a state of constant anxiety and trauma not just after the first battle on Geonosis, but after the worst experience she ever had, getting her mind controlled by the Geonosian worms- leaving her consciousness in a state worse than death until she was saved. This was something that gave rise to feelings of fear and anger, wanting to avoid that happening ever again, and it festers in her subconscious because she could never talk to anyone about it to debrief properly, so it turns into blaming the jedi for that all being allowed to happen in the first place as well as a slough of things before that like her and ahsoka being buried alive and 200 jedi dying. She avoided serving as a jedi commander in the war after the brain worms, and thus she stayed at the temple, seldom going into the battlefield with her trauma.. she also felt betrayed and left behind as ahsoka and luminara- her friend and her teacher, continued to go on missions and neglected her training, etc.
There isn't concrete evidence that Barriss was knighted, or maybe there's something I'm not aware of. It's possible that Wookieepedia used information from "Medstar" because, even though it's considered Legends, it served as a foundation for Barriss's character (which can be seen as semi-canon, semi-Legends). The timing of her knighting would fit, but not Barriss's age, because it was reduced. Regarding my theory on what will happen to Barriss, I believe she will betray the Empire in Tales or next series. We're talking about a character who was guided by her morality. Barriss is noble but also naive because she thought she could make a difference. Luminara taught her to fight evil at any cost, and unfortunately for the Jedi, she did that. She couldn't let go. And I think that will be a crucial lesson for this character, learning to let go. Even if Barriss were to kill Luminara, I don't believe her morality would be destroyed because that's what makes this character extremely interesting and complex. Indoctrination or death means the destruction of that morality, so the destruction of this potential. Maybe even Luminara, who, let's be honest, hurt Barriss, will be redeemed and before her death, she will say something to Barriss that will open her eyes and be the final lesson for her to choose her own path. (It would even be symbolic because this time it would be Luminara showing the evil within the Inquisition) Plus it would be very touching if Luminara's last words were the ones Rey heard: "In the night find the light."
Yes you’re correct it was in the Medstar duology, and also in the CW microseries Luminara tells her “your training is complete.” But in the 2008 clone wars, it doesn’t confirm this, so it’s (as of now) technically only in legends. And I’m really interested to see how much, if any, Luminara is part of Barriss’s story in TOTE. I certainly hope so!
Nice video man, I'm super excited as well to FINALLY get to see more Barriss Offee, it's been too many years of wondering, most of us thought we'd never get closure on Barriss.
It’s tragic that Barris is getting lost a lot deeper, because Sidious was the one who jeopardised the Republic and let a war, while playing on two sides of the conflict, but now with Barris serving the same person who made the Jedi lose their way, I can only say that it’s sad that Barris is being used once again as a weapon, without knowing who is the true enemy of this story.
Barris was right. She didn’t have to become a domestic terrorist. But she was right. And her fight with Anakin always sent shivers down my spine. Anakin was fighting hard for Ahsoka’s justice and be couldn’t take the betrayal. And Barris was embracing the dark side more and more, hinting at how slippery of a slope it would be for Anakin when he let himself go to it later. And their fighting styles are so similar here.
If you look closely, the security footage of Ashoka witnessing Leta’s death, there is also a geonosian. Barriss has a deep connection with geonosis as decided in this video.
I feel bad for Luminara Unduli that her own Padawan was behind the bombing, framing Ahsoka Tano and the Jedi Temple Guard becoming the Grand Inquisitor
The vulnerability to make this! We love you Mtashed and we miss you! However, we are so glad you and the family are good! Keep your energy and head high. We may not see content but you have the Mtashed community always behind you!
This was a really good video. You hit all the history points without going off topic, or focusing too long on a specific event. I knew she would end up as a disciple just not sure where. I really thought Vader would make her one of his secret apprentices.
You created a well-scripted and edited background video on Barriss Offee an is essential for Star Wars fans before diving into Tales of the Empire. Star Wars is a story about family, attachments, redemption, and the weight of choices. Barris fits the Choice category. She chose poorly. We'll likely see Barris betray Luminara Unduli in the series as part of her initiation. However, Darth Vader will recognize her, and she'll be made an example to all Inquisitors for failing to uphold her oath (recalling her Jedi days). In a chilling moment, just before Vader executes Barriss, he might whisper in her ear, "This is for Ahsoka," before delivering the final blow. Best, Tony
@@SWPhoenixSquadron Ii's actually poetry, remember when Barris was infected by the worm, she ask Ahsoka to kill her, and we see Ahsoka take a swing at her with her lightsaber, we all thought she killed Barris but she killed the worm instead,. @@elenazanchetta5963 The only problem with my theory, is that 15 years later when Vader and Ahsoka meet at Malacore, just before Vadar took that last swing at Ahsoka, he should have said "I revenged Barris for you".
It’s not surprising that the Jedi temple has a munitions expert. Even before the clone wars Jedi flew armed fighters and a range of craft appear to have at least some armaments, presumably for defence against pirates, if they operate outside of areas patrolled by planetary defence forces. Also the temple would be an obvious target for any hostile force so would be reasonably expected to have defensive weapons to hold any attack off until counter attacking forces could be mustered.
The Jedi of the Clone Wars era were not prepared for the horrors of war and how it would conflict with their dogmatic idealism about themselves and the Code. I am surprised that more Jedi didn't crack...of course, most of the weaker ones did not make it passed their first couple battles.

He knew that if it was her then the lightsabers were hidden somewhere, and if he swung at her she'd instinctively defend herself, and by taking her Jedi lightsaber, she had nothing but Venteesses blades. That has Anakins plan to prove it was her.

At the very first moment they meet again or when she recognises him, maybe? BTW I look forward to watching Tales of Empire.
Absolutely! Looking forward to both. But since we don’t see Omega and the Clone force 99 in all the other series after their timeline, it’s easy to imagine that they also will have a tragic ending and it’s extremely sad 😢
