I love watching Alex ride, he’s so active and stylish. Don’t get see that much on his channel which is sort of the deal with POV videos I guess. You and Alex have been such an inspiration to this 50ish dude who’s love of MTB was rekindled a few years ago thanks in large part to your channels. THANK YOU!
Yes Brian! Love that you are enjoying the right to roam! We are so lucky to this right. Tarland is so much fun. You can't beat a bit of flow every now and again 👌
I prefer natural single track for its beauty, tech and because you run into fewer shred bros. Flow trails are a bit too amusement park for me but you can’t beat the thrill that comes from speed and sweeping bermed corners. This trail center looks awesome!
Brian, i love your mtb adventures and glad that you can travel the world and experience all the diverse trails. Most mtbers can only dream of the worldwide travel to these exotic places. But, by not being there, the next best thing is watching the videos, we can almost experience the fun of being there with you. Thanks for these adventures.
Flow trails are fine, but stop yanking out all the rocks and roots from climbing trails just so gravel riders can ride there. If the trails too rough for them they should ride their stupid yuppie roadbike somewhere else.
Fantastic to see you over here again. Tarland is fantastic. Went in March with my son when there was still snow on the trails. We had a blast, he had a huge wipeout in the slush coming down the first trail from the summit but still loved it.
I don't know what was more entertaining...the flow or the jousting! Haha! Great video Brian! And thank you for answering some of my questions in email a few months ago! Your advice has helped my channel grow at a descent rate!
16:55... Nice you like the Öhlins suspension. Swedish Öhlins Racing knows what they're doing, if you are in to race cars, race bikes you know that they are top notch and has done nice thing for the automotive business. Looks like real fun over in Scotland, it's a amazing place to visit, the nature is gorgeous.
Watching you both ride Heartbreak Ridge thought "bound to go to Tarland" - and here you are excellent! brought back great memories of riding Tarland miles of flow and fun trails great to see you enjoying them. May visit again next year really enjoyed watching and will check out the Boat Inn as a possible place to stay - thankyou! 😁🤙
Brilliant Video Brian nice to see you over here in the UK! Im the other end of where you are on the Isle of Wight always good watching your channel and Alex's too! Where's Andrew!(McTrail Rider) I thought he would Feature as i know you guys are aqainted! Maybe we'll see him in the next video or so! Aways good watching his adventures! Loving your remarks about the Highlander and its handling, they are Quality forsure! Looking Forward to your next Adventure on the Trails Brian!👏😁
Loving the energy! Alex is one hell of a rider! (not that you aren't Brian, without a y) Holding out to see who else you might meet up with on your trip!
been casually checking out some of these Scotland vidz (And Alex's)....with low expectations but quickly starting to realize the riding there looks frick'n INCREDIBLE. Those flow trails rolling from the highlands, covered in pink shrubs, then dipping into thick lush evergreen forests.. EPIC stuff.
I really think this was a cool idea for y'all to split rides on each other's channels. I have been keeping up with both and always like them before watching them lol. Nice idea to get some more views from other subscribers that might not know one of y'all exists.
No one is gonna say they don't wanna ride GOOD flow trails but if you had to pick there's nothing better than finding flow in tech using your skills and the feeling that you get from your bike when you snipe flow in natural feeling trails is so much better than what you get from manicured berms. Bike park flow is fun but it just doesn't scratch my itch 90% of the time
I was up @tarlandtrails this last February - it was snowy up high, but the lower trails were enough to encourage a visit back again in a few weeks time. 👌
You may be home by now, but I hope you went to Laggan Wolftracks. There’s some nice new flow trails, but the original bare rock and chunky slabs of the two enduro trails are, to my mind, the best in Scotland.
It's crazy how much the right saddle can make such a big difference in the enjoyment of a ride. After trying a ton of different saddles way back when, I bought a used bike that came with a WTB Silverado, and now that's the only seat my tail is comfy on. Well that, and the Volt. WTB saddles for the win! 😉👍
The LMNT i like the most is the Raspberry, Watermelon and Mango, thus far. I tried the chocolate and it tasted exactly like a protein shake which i wasn't fond of lol.
Alex jumps really good, clean&style. It is a good wheel to learn so tricks and get some inspiration. Those kind of trails are perfect to learn and develop new skills on the bike cos it is possible to explore in a safe way over well build stuff. You need to visit La Fenasosa Bike park with Alex hehehe, downhill pumptrack for knoby tires. What a cool place to ride!
@@bkxcnext time! A great mix of traditional bike park stuff (bike part Wales), some gnarlier more natural uplift parks (eg antur stiniog) and cross country/enduro/traditional single track.
Such great trails at Tarland... I only managed 29 miles the first time I was there 😊 would love to see you guys try my local at Golspie.. Highland wildcat trails 👍
Usually on rental bikes/demos they tend to turn the rebound knobs to as slow as possible so you have a lot more control in the air and with jumps. So much easier to push into the jump and not get bucked! So, it might be just that
hey Brian! i just got a new spot mayhem 130 built up.. maybe i'll hit up Full Sail or maybe i'll revisit Bean Peaks. either way, this bike RIPS on flow!
Scotlands Right to Roam" is offset by the land ownership South of the Border where we are limited to tiny patches of land described as open access. England and Wales where 1% of the population own 95% of the land.
The rest of the UK really needs to catch up with Scotland's progressive, modern attitude to access to the great outdoors! I live in the North of England, and we're fortunate to have some great riding locations < 2 hours drive away, but the restriction of access on natural routes by mode of transport is daft. There are lots of bridal ways (officially rideable in England as well as walkable) which are no safer to share with pedestrians and no more accessible to bikes than many footpaths. Give people the right of access, then teach them how to use that access responsibly and to take care of other trail users. The way it's done in England and Wales creates tension between walkers and riders. The way it's done in Scotland encourages us all to look after one another out there in the wilds. Sadly, given the attitude of big ramblers/walkers groups to bikes (often based on huge misconceptions and isolated anecdotal bad experiences with occasional assholes on bikes), and their ability to organise and lobby government, I just don't see it happening :/
I'm in India and we don't have a proactive MTB community... Or I don't know how to find the community and find any good trails .. It kills me inside to have all this MTB desire but not be able to do anything about it 😔
Sorry Brian, you're wrong. I.E. that's just like your opinion, man. All tech for many miles is too hard. Incessant flow is boring. The best rides and trails mix the two to some degree.
Watched your videos for years and now it's a bit surreal seeing you on my local trails! How local? You can see my house from the top of the trail LOL Glad you enjoyed them!
Thanks for visiting us @tarlandtrails. We look forward to welcoming more 🇺🇸 visitors!

These Tarland corners 🤌
Breagha berms
Just too good!!
What saddle do you normally ride with?
If mountain biking was just flow trails I'd be out. It's the mix of all types that keep things interesting.
same i dont mind riding them they are fun and have a place but i would rather ride the steep off piste stuff
Good for you... That's your opinion
Agree totally
Flow trails are fine, but stop yanking out all the rocks and roots from climbing trails just so gravel riders can ride there. If the trails too rough for them they should ride their stupid yuppie roadbike somewhere else.
I find flow trails exhausting.

I agree a 1000% on flow trails, mountain bike parks that have jumps are great for doctors and emergency rooms.
Hahah yes
Dang, that looked so much fun!!!

The climb up isn't too bad at Tarland although the wind up to the top can he nasty.
looking good i need to go back soon 😄

Already planning a trip up to Scotland next year to ride some of what you and Alex have been riding, then over to Skye to see the brother in law. 🤘

The best forest in Aberdeenshire is Drumtochty. The castle side is steep but the south with Coopers Way is a blend of steep, tech and flow.
Nice!
How is the Deviate riding? What are your thoughts on the high pivot system?
Pretty solid!! My biggest issue was just getting my rear air pressure right
Wow, nice one ! 🎉🎉
So awesome🤙🤙🤙
On “call me Chris” the berms after the big rock garden are designed to be gapped as well

Just photos of the trip for an eventual article from Tim Wild!
Flow Trails appeal to my Need for Speed!
Big time!
Awesome.
"those who like flow trails and liars" - Alex nailed it. If you don't think flow is fun, go to Rotorua and ride Eagle vs. Shark.
Yep or Ridgeline in NC. Eagle vs shark is a blast!
Nice, I'll have to ride that thing!
Don’t be sorry, they are more fun 😬🤘🏼
Hahaha yep
its been a cold day today, hope you've got your woolies
Thats all i want, flow trails, i dont mind a little.bit of the other stuff but flow is what im after. Unfortunately, there isnt much around me
