Eric has GOT to be the best dude in mountain biking! Thanks for setting such a great example of dad who prioritizes his children over his own progression. The kids are definitely okay!
As a dad of an 11 year old on a similar path, I really enjoy these videos. Not only seeing the kids progress, but your commentary on how you are dealing with it.
You and your wife have to be the coolest parents. Great to see the whole family riding together. Just returned from my 3rd MTB trip to Bentonville and we have decided to move to Bella Vista.
Thanks, we're trying our best, it's never easy! It's so rewarding and fun getting to ride bikes with the family, very lucky. That's awesome you're moving there, we love it as well and can't wait to return!
Epic episode! So cool to see everyone’s progression. Thanks for contributing to the trial clean up after the storm! Shoutout to Gary for all the work he’s done for the trails here.
Thanks!!! Yeah the boys are crushing it, so cool to see. Glad we were able to do something to help, and agreed on Gary, he's the best! You know I've always got Chamois Butt'r in the pack too!
Thanks so much for coming out with the family and helping with the trails! Just a day after the storm I was shocked to hear chain saws running already. Handcut is running better then ever now how to see you back again soon 🤙
No problem, wish we could have stayed longer to help more! Thanks for all the work you do there too, great to reconnect as well! Let me know if you're ever in Utah, otherwise we'll see you next time we're in BV!
it might be very late for Sir Eric and the kids to read this.. but it felt like yesterday when you were at BermPeak building the Milo and Owen jump at Thumb Bucket. Now, Milo and Owen are riding bigger bikes and sending bigger jumps. Time really flies so fast. It's such a joy watching your family share a common hobby and see the smiles on your faces everytime you are on your bikes. Thank you for these vids !
I know, it´s crazy how fast they are growing and progressing, time really does fly! That means a lot, so glad you enjoy the videos and spending time with us, thank you for watching, hope to run into you on trail someday!
Legends, the lot of you! Looks like so much stoke and so much fun was had by all, great job sticking around to help out with the repairs like that, what a community they have there!
I love watching your videos with your family. I'm so jealous. My wife HATES biking and it makes it hard for me to get out anymore. I used to ride 3-4 times a week on local trails here in the Midwest, but now its 1-2 times a year. It's amazing to see your boys grow and progress!! Awesome poPs!
My boys were so excited to see a new video of Owen and Milo! 😄 they look up to them and we all enjoy seeing the porter family on TH-cam! I also often miss the kids when I’m taking a video because I get distracted watching them 😂
So glad you’re back uploading awesome videos again. I was genuinely worried about you and your family, as you hadn’t added any content in a while, so I was concerned that something had happened and I hadn’t heard. But all looks good. I wish I was progressing as well as Milo & Owen. Keep up the good work.
We're doing awesome, I appreciate the concern as well! I actually just wanted to make sure I was spending enough time with the family riding and having fun, but we're back with more vids! Just got the Whistler video out too, and the Crested Butte vid with Seth from Berm Peak is out this weekend!
I started watching your channel a few years ago and I can't believe how much your boys have grown and progressed. Owen sounds like how Milo did not long ago, and now Milo's voice is deeper than yours. Their skills on their bikes have increased dramatically. I turned 39 a couple days ago and my skills are nowhere near theirs. Any recommendations on getting over the fear of pushing myself? Especially as an almost 40 year old who has a job and bills?
That's awesome, cool to hear you've been following along! It is wild watching the older videos and seeing how much the boys have grown, it's going way too fast. It is tough pushing yourself as you get older, I find myself staying within my limits most of the time these days for the same reasons. I actually address that quite a bit in the new Whistler video about whips on our channel. I think the key is padding up with good protection, and then slow steady progression without expecting overnight huge results, just incremental gains, getting 1% better every time you ride and working on specific skills. And having fun!
Glad to see this vid released and so welll done. I watched you guys hit Drop the Hammer and I've ridden TV, but didn't know how awesome the Staggerwing section was.
Thanks, really appreciate that! We're working on it, always try to balance things so we're not filming all the time, don't wanna burn out the kids or make it feel like work to them. That being said, I just got the new Whistler video up and next week is the Crested Butte video with Seth from Berm Peak!
I have two boys 11 and 9 and totally relate. I still give advice when needed, but let them set their own speed and make line decisions. It is cool to see them grow and progress in skills. Your rental looked amazing. Glad you guys didn’t have an issue with that storm.
That's awesome about your boys, you know what I'm going through, it's a tough balance! We were definitely lucky with the storm, it was scary and we were up most the night staying safe in the basement, it was wild.
Thank you, really appreciate the support! Got the Whistler video out last week and this weekend we'll have the Crested Butte video out with Seth from Berm Peak!
I've only been to nwa once but I found that everything out there is built so well you can just trust the trail and go with it. Gives you a load of confidence you wouldn't otherwise have riding in other places
Yeah it's crazy seeing their progression! Megan loves riding but has zero interest in hitting big jumps haha. She hates getting hurt so I respect that!
Just got back from Whistler with my 5 and 7 yo boys. 7 yo did a 6'+ black drop perfectly that I was terrified to let him hit. Like you said, I had to let him because he was confident and feature was built proper, but inside I was more nervous than I get when personally hitting new features.
Haha yeah it's funny like that, so hard to let go. That's awesome he stomped it, nice work! Whistler is so good for that. Working on our Whistler vid from this summer now!
Great times, as always. I was out there a couple weekends before you guys and managed to hit my goal for the summer -- DTH. I did not, however, throw in any amount of steeze like Owen did. Well played, kid. Well played.
Man- Love the channel- Would love to hear/see a video on advice for those of us just getting our kids into it. I ride a lot and I've got a 9 year old ready to start jumping, but it's hard to know where to start him at, and then what a good progression looks like
